Yair is absolutely brilliant! Been a couple of times and love it. Turn right instead of left up to the three brethren. You won't be disappointed with that trail
Great to see Andrew, I’ve just done a feature in the magazine about Yair as we reckon it’s an overlooked spot in the Tweed Valley and great for progressing skills after people have seen enough of GT or put off with it being busy at weekends.
Most enjoyable, thanks. First video like this I’ve ever seen. I admire the way you can keep talking while dodging disaster at every turn. I just wish I was fifty years younger to have a go myself. Green Cleugh in the Pentlands is as exciting as it gets for me these days (77).
Oh yeah I fancy doing these trails next time in Tweed Valley, thanks so much for posting. Wasn't sure if all the storms had annihilated the trails here so great to know there's a good selection and a quieter alternative to all the testosterone at the Golfie.
They're great trails, so quiet and such a beautiful place as well. Great video and usually do ginger mullet instead of quarry descent but that looks mint so will be on the list
Keep thinking about going to Yair but have never been fancy tying this in with cycle across from Traquair across hills. Glenbenna trails near Innerleithen are another one you don't hear much about, ever tried? Thanks for sharing Andrew 😁
after watching this video , decided i needed to go check out Yair Forrest, went yesterday ,gutted your strava link didnt work :) anyway really enjoyed it , that trail Ginger Mullet was terrible in the wet , it was like going down a water chute :( gutted i couldnt find the Narden of eden, but did DD and the cluster of black trails were awesome! super impressed... going back ASAP when its dry with better knowledge of where i'm going i hope to find the main trail i missed :) thanks for the Video @Mctrail Rider love checking out locations i dont know about 👍
Buzzing for this as im heading that way next month and dont fancy the crowds of GT Very interested to know what your setup is for charging your bike in van, whats your inverter wattage? I cant seem to find a definitive guide for this, any info appreciated mate!
Cool vid Andrew. How wide are you bars on this bike? I believe you once told me on here uou ran 800mm on your claymore.... (And is that measurement with orwithout grips?)...cheeers
I've been watching your videos for years, but I just can't handle the super wide angle stuff. Heaps of my favourite creaters I just can't watch now. :(

Noted, thanks for the info 👍
Your welcome, it's called Ginger Mullet
Yair was my introduction to Scottish off-piste riding...
To say it was an eye opener would be an understatement. 🤣
In at the deep end

Nice! That’s a good point for progression at Yair. I suppose the Golfie and the likes are quite a big jump up from gt in general.
Most enjoyable, thanks. First video like this I’ve ever seen. I admire the way you can keep talking while dodging disaster at every turn. I just wish I was fifty years younger to have a go myself. Green Cleugh in the Pentlands is as exciting as it gets for me these days (77).
I hope to be still riding my bike at your age Peter. An inspiration for sure💪💪

Certainly a good alternative to the Golfie for sure.
Used to ride there a quite a bit but have not been back in years. Thank you for the reminder
Its gotten better since the storm damage repair work I think 👍
Tight, gnarly but fast trails there and could tell you were working hard. Well ridden as per mate. 👏👏
Cheers dude 😊
nice riding Andrew, sweet set of trails up there - cheers
Glad you enjoyed it
So good! The trail builders here are priceless 👏
You got that right Julia 👍 I’ve heard Ae forest has done really well built trails too 😉
@@McTrailRider 😄😄
Riden Cademuir & Yair more than I have the gofly, inners and the off piste at GT. Normally pretty quiet which is nice.
Different to most people then, and the right way to do it imo.
Great vid, like to see genuine exploration, nice one. Added to the bottomless bucket list (which already included 3 Brethren XC so can tag on) 😂
I’ll be sure to give you even more places to ride 😜
They're great trails, so quiet and such a beautiful place as well. Great video and usually do ginger mullet instead of quarry descent but that looks mint so will be on the list
Sounds like I’ll need to try ginger mullet then 🤔
Thanks for the useful intro to Yair forest, not ventured beyond GT myself
You should
You know what to do now Paul 👍
Nice riding man! I did Yair once in the slop, enjoyed the top section, but bottled the steep bit at the end :)
It certainly gets a bit steep towards the bottom 😬
Keep thinking about going to Yair but have never been fancy tying this in with cycle across from Traquair across hills. Glenbenna trails near Innerleithen are another one you don't hear much about, ever tried? Thanks for sharing Andrew 😁
I bet you really enjoyed that Andrew,I know I did.x

I have actually fixed the Strava link now, hopefully it can be of use on your next visit.
Looks great
It is that 👍

Great Stuff buddy 😉🚴 👌👌
Cheers Taffy 🤘
long-time-no-see..... Yair looks like a good one for an Crafty visit...
Perfect for your crafty Richard 👌
go to thornilee, one of the hardest spots in the valley, steep, roots, rocks, tight fun
I love Thornilee, such a good hill 👌
looks fun
That it is
Looks a great area, doesn’t have to be rammed with trails to make it fun does it 👍🏻
You got that right!
Nice!!!
Thanks!
If you liked Gnarden head on over the other side of Yair for the new Raelees Revenge, it's epic 👍
I will be sure to do that next visit 👍
Cool vid Andrew. How wide are you bars on this bike? I believe you once told me on here uou ran 800mm on your claymore.... (And is that measurement with orwithout grips?)...cheeers
These bars are also 800mm plus another 5-10mm for the ends of the grips.
@@McTrailRider cool, cheers bud.
Looks a cool spot . What size of battery do you use to charge your ebike in the van .
I’ve got a 2048wh Bluetti power bank, it does the job nicely.
Hey Andrew, you said you charge the ebike on the go, what set up do you find best for the van❓🚐
I got a BLUETTI 200 ac max, it’s an all in one unit, works well for me.
Looks great. I can’t get the Strava link to work
I’ve sorted it now 👍
YAIR MAN! 🤙😁
Haha, indeed 🤘
And ya never batted an eyeball at what was hanging in the trees 🌲 🌲🌲 4:30 😂😂😂
I was like WTF is that
I did see it, but I was trying to focus on the trail and I didn’t know what to say about what was hanging from the tree😂
@@McTrailRider 🤣🤣 looked an ace trail to be fair and ida probably missed it to if I were riding it…. If I ever do I’ll have to forget it’s there
what bike do you suggests going on hills/flat roads at the same time?
I really wouldn’t know what to suggest tbh, tyre choice would be a huge consideration for me in that scenario.
looks awesome, im up that way next month ill check it out, your strava link doesnt work though.
I’ve fixed the link for you.
@@McTrailRider awesome thank you
Quality. you were riding like you were trying to evade the Police. You made it. No need for a solicitor.
Haha, I’ve evaded them once again😜
are you doing sport climbing these days as well?
I’ve given it a go once outdoors. Think I prefer the simplicity of bouldering so far if I’m honest.
Strava link doesn't work Andrew
I’ve fixed it now 👍
Where is this ?
Yair forest
Sweet I’ll do it this weekends where’s the start point ?
It's not for beginners, mind. Steep, techy and gnarly in places.
Yeah, not the easiest place to ride.
I'm at home in the gutter
That’s not so good 😬
I've been watching your videos for years, but I just can't handle the super wide angle stuff. Heaps of my favourite creaters I just can't watch now. :(
My angle hasn’t really changed on RUclips 🤔 I also hate super wide angle videos.
@@McTrailRider hmm, that's the first time ever I've switched off early from one of yours.
Hopefully the next one will be back to normal for my eyes :)
@@RUSSM8 honestly, nothing has changed with my setup on RUclips for about a year now.
