You can tell Magnus really enjoyed this interview ... he seemed so engaged, more so than most chess interviews I remember. And Pep as well, seemed to really respect Magnus's feedback ... Great video

Props to FG! These questions were actually relevant, and also keeping both guests entertained/in the conversation. The football-chess parallel was super interesting. Edit: Also, yes. Would've literally sat there and listened to a podcast of you three. Definitely, we need a part 2 of this someday, with the same three people.
I disagree. I think most of these questions, like most other interviews, are obvious questions which prompt obvious answers and a little bit of deviation from the answer by the person being interviewed. "How important is patience in chess?" (Obviously very important, like with all facets of life). "Are there situations where you can turn defensive situations into an attacking one within a matter of moves?" (Yes, like with virtually every sport or game). "Do you change your strategy when things aren't going your way?" (A resounding yes- it's an established thing for anything involving a strategy). I think these questions are more of a prompt to get the person interviewing just to initiate a bit of an answer surrounding the topic, but not the actual question itself and I personally dislike media-trained interviewers like this one.
@@nosir1479 Pretty sure these questions were tailored to bring in a more general crowd with a somewhat better understanding of football than chess. Sure, the questions could have been better, but i get why they were the way they were.

As a Chess and Football fanatic, this was incredible to see. Magnus is a huge football fan. He was ranked no 1 in the world in Fantasy Premier League once.
