I tell ya! sousaphones weigh about 30 pounds this little tyke is so strong to carry a 30 pound instrument on his shoulder like that and this kid is the luckiest kid in the world because you rarely get an instrument like that at the age of six years old
@Yourmomshouse999 A sousaphone is the marching form of a tuba. Which is the instrument you see this child playing in the video. So yes, in a way, you're technically correct that it is a tuba. Sorry if that didn't make much sense, I'm horrible at explaining things! 😅
@@MyLittleWorld69 The commenter provided you with much information below, but just to put it simple, it's a big form of tuba and a marching form of tuba. But I think some kids and directors call it the "conjurer bass" tuba?
@@idont8715 He’s telling the truth. Yes, holding a full size 45 pound sousaphone is really impressive for how small he is, but his playing skills aren’t that great. Playing a low Bb for 90% of the video and then playing a few other notes in the harmonic series without good tone isn’t really prodigy material. It seems godly to people who have never touched an instrument, but it’s very easy to see the flaws as a brass player like myself.
Don’t hate on the kid and call the horn light While the horn may look like it’s being lifted easily it’s because the kid is small enough for it to only make contact with him on his left shoulder sousaphones usually weigh 30-40 pounds depending on the metals used to make them
Ppl don’t get it. That instrument is 18 feet long. Kids lungs are stronger than some adults. It’s actually crazy. What we are seeing here isn’t a display of musical talent, but of natural ability that will undoubtedly serve him very well one day.
I don't understand much in the way of music instruments, he does sound nice, but I feel that what's most impressive is the fact that he can lift the instrument that seem bigger then he is and play for a pretty long time. But maybe the instrument is lighter then it looks and it doesn't take an awful ammount of breath to play It, I don't know, none the less, he plays well, good luck, musical prodigy!
I can’t wait to see him play in high school and college... please upload a video in the future. He’s gonna be cranking on them boys

He isn't pressing on the valves with this sousaphone.
