Cell's softspot for Yamcha is just so goddamn underrated
I almost wonder if that's because Yamcha's DNA isn't (at least in abridged) a part of Cell. So he doesn't harbor any resentment towards him regarding his preprogrammed existence.

@@magne7771 I mean, getting yamcha'd might make him weaker. After all yamcha kept getting L's....I think the only W he gets is landing bulma and making kami bleed a bit.

Kaiserneko pointed something out in his Super Hero review. Vegeta actually has beaten Goku before. _The first time they fought._ And he’s not wrong. Vegeta was crushing him as an Ozaru, then he got his tail cut off, and he pretty much just faced Krillin, Gohan, and Yajirobe after that. Goku was basically out of commission for the rest.
I never thought about it!
Actually when you think about it goku has never beat vegeta in a 1 on 1 fight before canonically, so tien just L himself with that one🤣.
I personally don’t consider that a win by vegeta once he goes oozaru. I think of the main fight ending as soon as he does transform, since goku didn’t have his tail and was handicapped. People can of course argue otherwise, but I think of it as mostly a draw. After that, the fight changed into not vegeta vs goku, but great ape vs goku. I’d have loved to see oozaru vs oozaru at that point and truly know which one would win, but unfortunately we didn’t.

For those wondering, he beat Goku the first time they met (goku was hungry) and then beat him during the world tournament

6:48 Also fun but sad fact: the song when Goku and Cell's clones were fighting was song from Lazy Town call "We're Number One". The actor who sang and play the shows antagonist Robbie Rotten, Stefán Karl Stefánsson, passed away back on August 21, 2018. RIP to Stefán, you will always be #1
The song itself was a meme at the time this episode came out. So yeah, it's a good tribute to Stefan.

I just LOVE how Cell feels so endeared towards Goku. "And I love that you got that!" He's always making little jokes that not everyone gets, but Goku does.

The way TFS rewrote tension between Perfect Cell and Goku is one of the funniest things in DBZA..

@@Anduril74871 in DBZ Vegeta has the most kills out of the whole Z squad. Goku doesnt even kill anyone until the buu saga
@@hustler666100 I mean, blowing up a planet will give you a pretty good head start on the ol' kill counter.
Also, I think Goku did kill Frieza- Toriyana just decided he just "got better" to start the new arc. Regardless, Goku has quite a few kills under his belt- he was a lot less careful as a kid.

I think a great part of the writting in saga is that since cell has probably a larger percentage of Goku's cells than anyone else. So look at how Goku treats fighting in throughout the show. That's why Cell gets an almost sexual gratification out of it. It's easy enough just to make the innuendos but they actually made it kinda central to the character 😆
cell is mostly saiyan... prob has goku nappa raditz gohan trunks and vegeta cells.
Yes........ Now of those Saiyans who talks about fighting the most like Cell does, who seems to generally vibe with and/or understand Cell's mentality, and who was that nano bot following around the most during it existence?
For the authentic experience, you gotta wait a year between episodes 59 and 60 part 1...
All jokes aside, it's actually a really good thing you don't have to wait as long as we did.

@@Metalton95 I've been there, many many times. In fact, I'm currently there for a couple of those.
Not sure if someone already pointed it out yet, but the "That makes sense!" Guy is named Grant from the TFS Gaming Channel. He was known early on in the TFS community as someone who was against DBZA, saying how unfunny the jokes were and other stuff. Eventually he and the team talked and became friends, he likes the show motr now and has become a core member of the gaming and review channel, and guest stars on the main channel.
I love how you caught on to Goku saying a couple more *minutes.* He just had THAT little faith in everyone else that wasn't Gohan.
The gohan line "suddenly really happy I don't go to public school" I think was a setup for the buu saga we never got :(
A good parody doesn't come from hating the original product or wanting to discredit it. A true parody is poking fun at a thing you love, pointing out the mistakes while valuing what it does well.
This is genuine excitement and I like her watching-style, as in, she pauses and rewinds to take in everything that happens.
The ONLY technique Goku did NOT still was the Dragon Fist. While non canon it’s legit HIS own move that he didn’t still from no one
The thing with the hillbilly thing is that Goku and Chichi are the only characters in Dragon ball (in japanese) that have something akin to a japanese "southern accent"
Also, Goku grew up the woods and well, all the things he said on TV.
The accent is the only reason the characters get familiar with Chichi being Chichi when she shows up again.
and the fact goku becomes a farmer in the next series. and im sure that was out when this aired.
A friend pointed this out to me:
Farmer with a gun had a power level of 5.
Hercule had power level of over 100.
The fact that he was canonically 20 times stronger and faster than a regular human means that technically he was superhuman and people thinking him as the hero who stopped Cell becomes more believable.
6:00 I've never pity a character so much until now...if I was Gohan I wouldn't even think about going to public school. Move to a whole new planet and start from there 😆 cuz that was painful beyond words

He's ignorant, he solves everything with fighting, and he's got a red neck accent in the japanese
And he has a tractor.
The logical explanations Mr Satan comes up with, in this version, are way more believable than the other versions.

After this series is over you should watch Final Fantasy 7: Machinabridged, also made by Team Four Star. If you haven't played the game it is based on I don't think you should worry too much. I watched it before I played the game and it was so much fun that I actually played the game right after I finished watching the show.

Also, a lot of people ask: how, when they fire off beams in straight line do they go into space? Answer: the Earth is curved, and the speed and force (energy) pushing the beam allows it to easily beat gravity and actually go in a straight line; instead of following the curvature of Earth.
Tien defeated Goku to win the tournament, in Vegeta's defense, Vegeta has never lost to Goku clean. He's technically never lost a Goku directly. Vegeta actually beat Goku at least twice

What's interesting is Goku isn't completely wrong when he credits Yamcha for the Kamehameha. What I mean is Yamcha was the first person shown to be able to move his, instead of it being a straight line
Cell is the only one that's nice to Yamcha.

Oh God. I can't handle coffee myself lol. Which sucks because I suffer severe chronic migraines. They really mess me up. I get dizzy, lightheaded, weak, cold, nauseas. Basically feels like motion sickness, with a splitting pain behind my eye that makes it sensitive to both light and motion, so I usually have to wear a patch over it. But to speed up getting rid of it, I kinda have to take Tylenol with coffee, but coffee on its own (for me anyway) will help ease the actual head/eye pain in exchange for compounding the nausea, weakness, and dizziness. There's just no winning, and I usually have to deal with it twice a week, but at least the coffee tastes good lol.
Love that little jab Tien makes, about how, unlike Vegeta, he _did_ beat Goku once.
Also, it's both endearing and sad that Cell is like the only one who is unironically nice to Yamcha.

But I always found it weird that NOW is when Goku and others start being like "Oh don't fire that beam while close to the ground because it'll blow up the planet". Like literally when has that EVER happened before or since? Hell SSJ3 Goku blasted straight through the Kai planet and it was fine... mostly.

For context: Tien beat Goku to win the martial arts tournament, that's why he asks vegeta if he ever beat goku. (and then goku won against tien in the next tournament in the semi final and that's what Goku was referencing XD)

AniMelon I forgot to mention something worth reacting still to TFS: they had clips of when they did a bit of DBSuper and also they had their dub debut in DBZ Kai in the Buu Saga but Toei made Funimation cut it cuz they hate TFS. Both are worth watching and reacting too: DBSA compilation and Buu Saga w/ TFS
With the Popo thing in super it really feels like it's only the execs the actual people who work on the show might appreciate it. Non zero chance it'sxa homage.
