Glad you made it to Wyoming! You should have stopped by! That lake you showed is Alcova Reservoir. Those aren't squid teeth but the body. I can't remember the name of the sea creature. The snail looking fossil is an ammonite. If you know where Lance Creek, WY is that is the southern end of a fossil deposit that extends into Montana. You have to love Wyoming spring weather LOL!

Ranchers also dislike prairie dogs because there cattle step in the holes and break legs fairly often. Good video enjoy the rest of your trip.

Yes, I have had many of my cattle destroyed due to prairie dogs. Not only that but they attract other predators like coyotes who then in turn go after calves who get stuck at night in a prairie dog hole. I used to shoot them. Now I relocated them to another part of my property that I made just for them. Since then they have not invaded my pastures anymore. The best part is the state paid for the transfer project. Keeps all the other predators in that area away from my cattle and goats.

Alot of great memorys from the 80 and early 90s. Im 52 now but I watch every one of your posts and Deermeats and Deer mom.. my family loves your familys values and I grew up how your raising your own children and apretiate you for that. The fishery in Maine id at risk. Lobster, shrimp and halibut. Tuna as well. I just want you and your family to know that the normal people in life respect you so much. Same for Deer meat. We love you guys. Good with the kids you guys. Way to raise them. Thank ypu so much for bringing me back close to where I grew up

Gabe, there's a park south of denver,CO you should find. In the park is a bridge that goes over the ROYAL GOURGE. And you have to cross it getting to the other side of the park. But kinda bucks because that same bridge, is the only way out of the park. At the bottom of the gourge, is a set of railroad tracks. Bridge to the tracks is about 1,000 feet.

If I remember correctly, most of the western US was pushed up from the ocean floor when the super volcano under Yellowstone erupted (not sure which eruption, there's been 5). But it's been a while since I read up on it. If you haven't seen any of the documentaries, I highly recommend checking it out.
As a past NW CO resident, WY does have a ton of great places to see. We shared a Dinosaur NP as well as a river system that grew HUGE Brown Trout. Do not forget the Teton NP and Yellowstone NP. B-e-a-utiful places within our Great United States of America

It looks like a pack rat nest you found. We get similar fossils around us, but we are much lower at around 100m above sea level, here in the UK. The funny thing is we are surrounded by gravel pits so if we have local gravel in our garden landscaping the kids hunt through that for Squid and shell fossils.
