Astounding good playing, Alexandra Stychkina! I like this interpretation very much. I also like your outfit in black. I will look for you in the future!
Durante iI secondo tempo mi hai dato tante emozioni! BRava Alexandra! During the second mouvement you were so good! So perfect with the sound and the tecnique! Brava!
Never heard of 22 year old Alexabdra Stychkina! Beeing such a superb pianist she should be well known already. Is it because she is Russian? Country that has given mankind many of the most superb musicians and composers while the "west" has given us nothing but wars and money grabbing systems disguised by the words "Democracy and Freedom"? Hope to hear more from her before "passing" away.
Wonderful observations. I'm listening for the first time and amazed at her passionate interpretation. I've loved this stirring work (and DSCH) since high school, 1959, and heard a lot of renditions. She's playing like she believes it.. 🎉 🎉 🎉
Did the maestro really cue her entrance? I think she knows where to start LOL. Shout-out to the bassoonist. I noticed the conductor gave him a full bar of preparation, too. Leaving nothing to chance I guess!
OK. She has a great technique like millions of other young ppl today. And, in the Andante, she can sing it beautifully. But she still has to really fall in love and feel the pain.....and use it in this second movement. Yes, Shostokovich's pain.......
No. Not millions of pianists can play this concerto. And your very pompous evaluation of this young pianists need to fall in love (with Shostakovich or anyone else) completely misses the point of her sensitive performance if not only the whole concerto, but of the 2nd movement in particular. I prefer to recognize superior talent and musical wisdom wherever I find it, be that in a very young musician or one who is more seasoned. THIS performance is wonderful on every level. And a fine recording, too.
My apologies, Tish. “Pompous” was a very poor choice of words. You are certainly welcome to your view of this performance and, I will agree, your perspective/evaluation is as valid (and valuable) as anyone else’s. I do like this young pianist’s style and manner very much, though. To me she brings a breath of fresh in her presentations, much like another young Alexandra and very much UNLIKE several older pianists who dazzle with ultra rapid playing and over-the-top affectations. … If you (or anyone reading this comment) has not heard several other recordings by this young pianist, it’s worth the time to take a look/listen. And again, Tish, I didn’t mean to be disrespectful of your or to be pompous myself. Mea culpa.
It is always like this: what you want to hear you hear, what you dont want to hear you dont hear. As my ears wanted to hear this second piano consert I found Alexandra. Or Alexandra found me. Now we are connected. I dont mind if there are more famous versions of this music, I think there is, but Alexandras version has a special value for me. So @tishhill9561, you dont know at all about the pain.
An irresistible beauty! The second movement of this piano concerto has always been my favorite, and you played it with such feeling. Thank you.
the paramount orchestra and a genius pianist who looks great in black outfits
Another Alexandra pianist from Russia---both amazing!
Wonderful! And Stychkina is fabulous!
Beautiful performance (by both soloist and orchestra). Shostakovich at his most beautiful, sublime and touching.
Splendid performance by Alexandra Stychkina with Konzerthaus Publikumorchestr conducted by Dirk Wucherpfennig!
It's written with his child in mind all over it . Just brilliant .
Incredible! Both the pianist and the orchestra are amazing👏

Heureuse de jouer et ça s'entend !! Bravo.
Que Deus continue te abençoando, excelente execução!
Omg ovo je suuper
Me parece muy buena pianista e intepretación, ¡bastante balanceada!

Did any of u see her swipe her hair out of the way? Start from 1:30
That was definitely the highlight of the performance. What are ears for, if not to hold back one's hair.

My wife does not like this, but I love it so much. She is going to get it for her daily massage.
Seriously? Who cares? Try listening and commenting on the music; not on your daily habits!
Trapped in an Elevator Music.
