Shadow almost having a ptsd attack and telling himself "stop it" really hit my heart, I think anyone who has suffered great loss can resonate with that scene.
love how they essentially filled in the holes and acknowledge the lore they started instead of pretending it don’t exist. from the original sonic generations, shadow wasn’t at sonic’s bday cause he was on the ark. it deepens the “vs shadow rivalry battle” in generations because he was already on board the ark trying to solve the time discrepancies with the arms in dark beginnings.
Uh, what? In the game we saw his origins, his drama and issues with Project Shadow, his connections to Maria, his misguided search for revenge and realization of Shadow's predicament and story being more than he originally thought, coming to understand and respect him. If you play Expert Mode you can even hear a phone call of him talking to Shadow during his G.U.N. training and talking about him spending more time with his grandchildren. He was a great character with a solid arc in ShtH 05 as well. I liked Dark Beginnings too but this whole "X better than Y cause *insert misconception/avoid proper context*" thing has got to stop.

This series is the best animated Sonic prologue since Sonic Frontiers: Divergence. I hope they keep up with these animated prologues with newer games. They never miss AND it always goes in great detail! Everyone that worked on them deserves a high praise in this masterpiece of work
I love how the animators in episode 3 gave Shadow a quiet, vulnerable moment. Being tough and having a hard exterior for so long and facing your past without truly dealing with it is overwhelming. It's like he wants to grieve the loss of the future and life he and Maria never had. But he had to stop himself from being taken over by his emotions. I wonder if we'll see him cry again and truly mourn.😢
We know why it went wrong on Disney's part, but to go so long without an official theatrical release like this is a shame. But plenty of indie projects show us it's still alive, just not in theaters

In the new animated shorts, Shadow has obviously shown interest in his past again because of the nightmares. Black Doom told him about his creation, nothing more. Knowing something vs feeling something are too different things. Shadow knows of Maria, but it doesn’t mean he remembers the feeling of being with her. The best way to sum up what he feels is confusion and fear. The confusion to why the nightmares keep happening, and the fear that he will see another person fatally fall. He believes the Ark has clues to help his curiosity.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did Eggman find time eater in space after colors? on one had planet wisp could be close to earth or at least the ark but on the other hand I'm surprised that they were able to get intel on it. I Wonder why Eggman felt the need to send that info back to earth?

So, the storyline from the Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) game remains untouched, it already happened. This new storyline happens much later during the events of Sonic Generations (2011). So, Shadow defeated Black Doom, time passes, Sonic's birthday is near and Shadow has these visions, so, he thinks Black Doom "returned". So, the rest of the story happens in the "new" game.
Maria's final wish was for Shadow to let everyone live happy lives. And anyways, he has little reason to kill some random pilot. (other than the fact that he tried to kill him)
