This is so incredibly useful and a small investment up front to set up different combination states seems like a great time saver long term. One issue that i'm having is certain combination states seem to be 'zoomed' further or closer than others. Even when selecting the same view orientation when defining the combination state. Any fix for this issue? Ideally I'd like to be able to jump between combination states that use the same view orientation without the whole model jumping around on the screen

Update: I think I just figured out one solution. It seems that within combination states the zoom distance is based on the bounding box of the largest part shown within said combination state. As opposed to using the saved view orientation distance as I had assumed it should. So a workaround to achieve consistent zoom distance across all combination states is to always include one part with the same largest bounding box across all combination states...i'm thinking maybe even just an empty part with some datum points far out in space as a placeholder. Hopefully there is a more clean way to do this that I'm just not seeing yet

Sean, does each Combination State use the same Orientation / Saved View? I thought the Saved View captured the zoom level as well. That's especially useful when you want it focused on a particular detail. I will have to investigate this, but I thought zoom level was captured as well.

@@CADPLMGuy thanks for the reply! Yes, same orientation/saved view across a few different combination states. Different simplified representations. The zoom level does not stay consistent

I took a look in the PTC Knowledge Base and there was a report of a similar issue on the Creo View side that was supposed to have been resolved in 5.0. I don't know if that refers to Parametric or View though. If I get a chance I will do a little testing myself this weekend.

Can I add a Snapshot to a Combination State? (Simplified Rep + Snapshot) I've been trying to figure it out on a scissor lift assembly.

Yes. Snapshots are available as Explode States.

My CreoView file is not showing any of the Combined States even though they are set to Publish... Is there a Recipe file or some kind of setup options I need? Thanks

Yes. I have another video on that. Search in my videos on “Recipe.”

    Very helpful!
I created a combined state that I wanted to put in a drawing, with the simplified representation and style that I wanted to show. When trying to change my drawing base view, it shows my combined state in View States but I can't select it because it is greyed out. The combined state is published- is there another setting to check to be able to use it in a drawing or another reason it may not be available?

I don't know what you mean by the Combination State is "published," but drawing views don't support Style States. Try changing back to the Master Style and see if it lets use it in a drawing then. Typically I'm not a fan of using Combination States to define drawing views.

Why can't I open the "all" section?

I don’t know. I recommend opening a ticket with PTC Tech Support.
