Thanks for all of the tips, but I gotta admit that the COMMENTS section on here is chock full of ideas too! A bag for all occasions, I COMPLETELY agree!
My tips:
1. As far as a little "bag" to carry tees, etc: Crown Royal bags work nicely, and the process of getting one is more fun than spending a ton of money for a little bag like that.
2. I, too, carry a small towel with my Sunday bag set up but I use one of the towels with the magnet on the end (like the Stick-It towels). Throw the towel across the bag like you normally would, but then let the magnet attach itself to an iron or wedge that you may or may not use.
In general it's good to purge the bag every other month...how times do we find balls, leave things in the bag, pick up trash, who knows, but it's added weight...I use the Mizuno carry bag for the pull cart...I too had the issue of losing/dropping towels...I finally decided 1) stop have emotional attachments to them 2) don't buy expensive towels 3) clip on or magnets. I always carry Advil, power bars and eye care stuff since I have contacts. I use a special dice bag for tees, markers, pens and my lip balm. I always carry sunblock and around May the bug spray is in the bag till September. Last big tip is i keep an air tag in my bag and on my range finder..both have saved me from unscrupulous rascals and airlines.

I used to use a biggish towel that just went between the clubs. Its great for clanking and it is built in cushion in the travel bag. I had a tendency to lose them and since I play far less now, I've gone to a large towel with a loop and loop the towel on the bag. It still looks like the loose towel but I don't lose them
Great tips. One additional tip I would love to see covered is how to pack your bag and clubs when flying
I have several carry bags and two cart bags, both of which I can put on a pushcart, remote control cart or a golf cart.
I also have a Sunday Bag that I use when traveling, but I only use a limited number of clubs (Driver, 3W, 3-5-7-8-9 Irons, a PW, SW, and Putter).
It reminds me of the Northwestern Starter Set of clubs I used when I took up golf while stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB-SC in the mid 70's. Besides, how many clubs do we really need!?!?!?
Use Shot Scope to track and record my round... Use the yardage feature to hazards and the green, and the club selection based on my club history at the course I'm playing.
And as you say, balls (an even dozen), two gloves, ball towel, tees, 20 oz Igloo thermos, rain poncho and a few protein bars.
Pretty Basic, but it's all I need to enjoy a few hours of relaxation day to day!
I got some iron on adhesive and stuck some velcro strips on my towel and a head cover, so i can velcro my towel onto the bag when walking and its easy to take on and off..
What about a Sunday golf bag? I used the Sunday golf El Camino bag on a recent trip to Florida and it was perfect. I walked 3 rounds and rode in a cart 2 rounds. Only had 12 clubs but it was worth not having to bring my cart bag and everything in it.
Enjoyed the tips. Which set of irons and driver~woods do you like the best? I see every bag has a different set. I live in Pinehurst NC, on #9. I walk and use a Vessel carry~stand bag, love it.
I bought a new bag this year that rarely gets talked about, but I think is a bit of a sleeper. The Sun Mountain Eco-Lite EWP 4-way. Its water resistant, light at 4 lbs, has great dividers, no club tangle, big enough pockets and great straps… Despite being very light the legs and stand system are very sturdy and can be strapped in. It you had to buy one bag it could do it all
My friend has a sun mountain as well and I’m jealous! The individual dividers are awesome and the waterproof bag is great, although I think he has the cart version so it’s a bit bulkier

I think I try to swing harder with longer clubs.

Yeah baby, I do. Finally could afford to buy a super nice stand bag. I prefer to walk, so its perfect to give me luxury but i also golf at places that dont want you to walk, and its a fantastic bag on a cart as well
If you can afford Vessel, its a splurge but man, they are beautiful and high quality.
I bought my dad the cart lite bag and had his name printed in it for fathers day a few years ago.
What kind of cover do you use when travelling? I used to use a hard shell but didn’t know what to do with it when I got to my destination. Now I use a half hard collapsing cover.

The real question how often are you switching clubs or playing the particular clubs represented in each bag. Other wise with most players with one set that’s A LOT of club bag switching. I have several bags but one set of clubs. Guess I need to up my game and get another gamer set
i still use the same ping hoofer bag from like 2003ish
I am halves in a cart. So I walk in winter ,spring ,Autumn,carrying bag on Comp day(Saturday) .
I use the cart for practice during the week after work.
Buddy uses cart on Saturday (comp day). In summer I walk using a push cart on Saturday.(Umbrella in extra hand if real hot.
If Im playing with the guy Im halves with in cart ,then I ride with him. I use a Titleist stand bag (2.3kg) for everything . Weighs around 11kg with a few balls and bits and pieces. . Light enough. I use a small OJ bottle for sand when carrying. I have an Oakley towel that has a hole in the middle. Stand Bag has a plastic loop on it. The towel is looped through itself onto the plastic loop.
I use a FJ glove package to keep scorecard in when raining.

I love my Callaway org 14. I dont set up my clubs like they suggest because I put my woods in the large separated slots to avoid bag chatter against those graphite shafts.
Have the same bag. Best bag ever!

To lighten my carry bag I got rid of my water bottle and added a CNOC bag with a hose instead. A lot more convenient also because I don’t have to remove anything now to drink

Thanks for sharing your set ups. The difficulty with using a riding cart bag on a push cart is that it spins the clubs around in the wrong direction. Can you recommend a bag that is made specifically - perhaps only - for a push cart? Thanks.
I modified my pull/pushcart by adding snaps to the straps that SUPPOSEDLY hold the bag in place and snap it in place where the rain cover would normally fit.... Works Great!

I like my nike bag, it has 14 slots and a putter well. Which leaves me an extra slot for the most important club... the water wedge (AKA ball retriever). 🤣
I substitute Body Glide for that second chapstick and always use sunscreen.
Anyone else find the clubs bunching up in the Hoofer bag? #1 thing I hate about my Hoofer. Wonder if the Craz E Lite does the same?

How does the faux leather age on the Vessel? Florida man here, these things seem to disintegrate with heat and humidity.. I like the looks of the bag but I’m worried about durability

I've got two bags, one larger one I know I can carry (and have), that also fits a cart very well, from Sun Mountain. The other is getting replaced by a Mizuno BR-D2, as when I play 9 holes or smaller courses, I only take the clubs I know I'll need. The current 2nd bag is something I got cheap that fit my need, but is falling apart.
No sunscreen? I carry the SunBum face stuff, which comes in a small, lightweight mister. I also have the stick to apply to my nose and ears. Works great!

I literally hit my bag with my club and broke my phone last month. Apparently my aim is perfect when striking my bag as opposed to striking the ball.
Bag number 2 if my set up, but 9 golf balls. Prefer to walk, ride occasionally.
You need to add a 3rd glove. 1 glove every 6 holes. They last forever if you get on a rotation like that.
3x as long because you use them a third of the time….lol

What, no sunscreen??? I want to know how many times you forget a particular wedge or putter switching in and out of all those bags. I am now a 1 bagger, and it's a big cart bag. I try not to play on weekends or in the rain, but I have everything I need. That's the luxury of being retired at this time!!

Nice tips! Instead of using chap stick on your junk area get a real anti-chafing butter product. they are amazing. Because what if in an emergency you needed to use the special chap stick on your lips... 😲
