Great video sir. I used sandwich baggies for my tees. Of course after a while the tees just rip the baggies so I started using a small pencil box that can hold about 40 tees perfectly in it nice and neat.
Agreed with everything except for the large front pocket. That is meant for beer, especially for we hacks who need a drink after 3 holes. Great work Alex.
I use a trolley when really hot or heavy rain and carry the rest of the time. I have a 5 way divider, but with the low part being one section. Top of the bag left to right Driver and putter (plus alignment sticks), 3w & 4 hybrid (sometimes replaced with 3 iron), down to the left middle section long irons (5, 6 &7), middle right 8, 9 & PW, bottom section wedges, 50, 54 & 58. All clubs in order in each section (OCD :) ). I also keep a full set of clothes in the car for every weather situation and mix it up depending on the weather. One thing you missed is a club groove cleaner :)
That’s a great video Alex. I set up my bag almost exactly like you do; although I add two or three alignment sticks to the top area where I keep my fairway metal, driver and putter.
Hi Alex, mines arranged exactly the same. I have 3 bags now (one for my cart, one for a trolley and a carry one) and the newest actually has the 14 individual club spaces. Was never a fan, however I must say (maybe I’m a bit OCD as I like my clubs to be in exactly the correct spots, and to be honest this does help. Thank you for sharing how you set your bag and arrange your clubs as I believe this does tell a bit more about the type o golfer you (and everyone else) is/are. 👍😎🇦🇺
I use a carry bag, because, well, I usually carry. It also works if I use a buggy or trolley. A cart bag isn't so great if you're carrying. I use a four section bag, and set up similar to you except: I put my putter with my wedges in the lowest section. The putter is so much shorter than the woods; it gets lost up there. Also, I do a mirror image of where you put your long / mid irons, as I'm a lefty.
I think carrying is the best - although I don’t mind trolling. I get the point with the putter. It’s jus the grip is so think I find it better up There
In the US (Kentucky), it’s very rare to see someone carry their clubs. Occasionally you’ll see a push cart (trolley) and it’s usually an older gentleman during winter golf when carts are sometimes prohibited from fairways. I have a push cart that I use on the par 3 near me but, haven’t used it on a regular course yet. I use a Callaway 14 divider cart bag because I like to know if I’ve left a club somewhere on the course, open hole time to back track!!!
I put the line on the golf balls before they go into the bag so I don't have to bring that stuff. I really like my club cleaning water/brush device that hangs on my bag. Since I'm in North Carolina, I carry a snake kit just in case (loads of copperheads around here).
I agree with most of what you suggest apart from one or two things. I prefer to have a few tee pegs in my pocket along with my ball markers; this saves taking the tee peg bag out and rooting around looking for an appropriate tee. Same applies to the pitch repairer. I can see no point in carrying a ball alignment marker since you should have all of your balls already marked up. Likewise, it seems odd to carry a golf club tool since it is unlikely that you will need it out on the course. I'm all for less clutter - less time wasting.
I use a cart bag as, living in central Florida, the sun, heat, and heavy humidity make walking impractical, especially being 75 as I am. I also carry a ball retriever and a weighted practice club, like an Orange Whip, to stretch out before the first hole. And from practical experience, I also carry a plastic bag with a small roll of toilet paper and a packet of wet wipes as the call of nature is sometimes a #2, not a #1. Most courses I play do have wooded areas to "drop trou" discreetly so the TP is to clean up and the wet wipes are to make sure that I don't contaminate my grips with anything... undesirable afterward. 🤣🤣🤣
I live in Southern California. You kept mentioning something called “rain”? (Hope I spelled that right.) Could you explain what it looks like so we would know how to identify it in case it happened? Also, the hand warmer is a good idea. In the dead of winter, sometimes it can get into the 60s here.
Carry bag with double straps for me. I prefer to carry because I like to get exercise from walking. The exception is if it's rainy and/or the course is very hilly -- then I'll consider riding in a cart.
@@AlexElliottGolf Interesting once again as I find it bigger and capable of taking more clubs in. But I don‘t have a divider in the lower section either
Amazes me that there's really any need to do a video on organizing a golf bag. I feel like this is specifically geared towards those that need help getting dressed or trying their shoes.
Looks like my bag... The only other way on my side is that putter which I like to have next to my sandwedges. When you must leave your bag close to the following hole postsign to cross the green up to your ball lying in the rough then you just grab the right wedge and your putter at the same time.
@@AlexElliottGolf I can find all of my gear but not my game🙈 I started playing about 8 months ago and have gone from shooting in the 100s to high 70s/low 80s and now struggle to make 85😡😡😡😡
Good stuff, but I do like the 14 way bags, first of all I can't walk a golf course any longer, so the larger size does not matter, AND that protects the shafts and grips of each club. AND why do you carry the tool when you can't use it during a round anyway. No temptation and no grounds for anyone else to say you cheated.
Where do you keep your Gregg's sausage roll, water bottle for your dogs and their bowl, ice packs in summer to keep your smoothie cold, sun cream, de fribulator pack and blood pressure machine, spare shoes, spare t shirt, spare hat, spare phone, spare glasses, spare gloves and your bag of £1 coins for when you are playing a friendly game of skins?! Yep all apart from the Gregg's sausage roll that's all in my bag. Including everything you put in your bag! 😁
Why would you put your ball markers and repair tool in an opaque bag with your tees that you just said you don't want to stab yourself with? Just put the tees in the black bag, and put that bag and your loose markers and tool in the smaller pocket (that you appear to have put nothing in) above the big pocket you actually did put them in. As for your clubs, it actually makes far more sense to put the woods on the bottom. 1. You can access your irons more easily without standing the bag up on its end. 2. The clubhead covers keep the woods and their shafts from getting beaten up by the only irons that are close enough to reach them (the long/mid irons). 3. It keeps your irons from rattling around as you carry the bag. 4. It allows you to put the putter where it belongs instead of jamming it in with three woods and their big headcovers.
A hand warmer? You clearly have never played in Australia. Great vid but geez, do you really need all that stuff? You are playing golf, not going on a Himalayan trek.
WHAT DO YOU USE…CART OR CARRY BAG??!
Carry …
Carry

cart
Hybrid so I can carry it to the range and whack it on me electric trolley for the course

Very smart to do golf related content in the warmth of the locker room while the weather outside is absolutely filthy!
Hahaha 🤣 the weather has been so bad - do you live in Manchester 👀🤣

That is a very good point Jeff. It’s easy to see if you have left a club behind
That is a great video. I use a cart bag that the top keeps all the clubs individually separate. That works great no clicking of clubs.
I like that Wayne! What bag is it?
@@AlexElliottGolf It's a Founders Club. Includes a cooler pouch for your drinks.
The nice thing about 14 way cart bags for cart or trolley is ease of seeing a missing wedge you left on the green.

Hi Jon! What did you think of the umbrella trick??
@@AlexElliottGolf great, will definitely use that 1, going to the range next, hopefully my thumb will be ok

Went golfing today for the first time in 15 years, no practice no thing. Did pretty decent & now I'm sucked backed in
The only essential I have is a joint and a lighter 😅
Cigar holder, cigar cutter and a torch to light the stogie!
Great video
Thank you 🙏
Do you always swap the clubs around if your using a cart? Or just leave them in that configuration?
Great stuff Alex, but where do I put my laptop and WiFi remote modem? I need to be able to watch your videos on course of course.♡
Hello Blaze, hahah this really did get me - i must include this next time for you
Great and interesting video! But why don‘t you put four clubs in the lower section instead of only three?
That is a good question I just prefer it that was as the section is a little smaller
@@AlexElliottGolf Interesting once again as I find it bigger and capable of taking more clubs in. But I don‘t have a divider in the lower section either
I would trade the rain gear for beers and if see no spot for a chainsaw, woods get pretty thick. 🧐🤣
