I’ve been waiting for a video exactly like this for a very very long time as I’m in the market for a new exhaust, upgrade from the stock! Can’t wait for part 2!!!
THE definitive exhaust test - talk about a comprehensive test, this is going to be THE bench mark, well done. Looking forward to hearing the results and your verdict. Northamptonshire greatness … 👍🏻
Ha! Not really. I was forced to leave it on a cliffhanger because we had WAY too much footage to do it all in one episode. Besides, it means that you’ll consider subscribing so you don’t miss the next one, right? ;-)
@@JAYREAD consider? I feel insulted! I've been subbed to your channel for a long time and always enjoyed your videos! I considered a tiptronic (well I wanted it but numbers didn't work out) and your video was the one that convinced me it's not all that bad! Also, I'm based in the UK do gotta support my Brits who ventured across the pond! 😉
Outstanding video once again, Jay! You are setting the bar quite high for yourself. I like that you are going to produce the mods. back-to-back with the OE mufflers so that we can see how they compare to stock. That is really the only way to discern the difference. Well done!
Thanks for this, excited for you and Part 2! I'm pretty much here as well, looking for a system with a touch more growl over stock. Catch myself always browsing the F6 website. Just noticed we have the same initials and the JR911 tag is still available in TX haha
Jay, absolutely a great video. Looking forward to learning more. BTW, I'm claustrophobic, so sleeping on the train is a scary thought ! Your 996 will be a mean machine. I took mine to Sebring a few weeks ago for the Drivers ED course . Was lots of fun. My 10 year old daughter enjoys watching your video's🚗😄😄😄😍😍 with me.
I’d like to see the Fister or Gundo mods also compared. One thing I find a little off putting are all the claims of how “restrictive” modern German exhaust and intake systems are, I heard it from the aftermarket starting back in the early 2000’s (and way before) when I bought E39 M5’s and E46 M3’s, and the same claims for these cars, yet one never sees accompanying dyno charts showing much if any gains. Huh. The original E46 M3 exhaust is quite well engineered as are OE Porsche exhausts. They are heavy, and tend to be quiet. New mufflers really only bring more noise, and this video is helpful in that regard - what noise is most pleasing to your ears. And yes I do know with turbo cars real gains can be made with hi-flow down pipe cats but for most NA cars muffler changes don’t do much in the power department.
We did a double exhaust by pass on my mufflers using 1 and a half inch inner pipe and a 2 inch overhead pipe. Amazing Sound !! Neighborhood friendly under 3500 rpm's, but very aggressive when on the throttle. To me it sounds better than these new Ford Mustang exhausts.
Sorry to say, but none of these aftermarket exhaust sound as good as the OEM sports exhaust. Too bad you didn’t include those in your test. It would clearly show you what I mean.
You haven’t heard any of the exhausts yet. You’ve only heard the stick exhaust as the captions state which, given they’re not the sports exhaust, aren’t as nice sounding. You need to watch Part 2 to hear the exhaust on test. That will be out on Friday.
@@JAYREAD No offense but I did hear all the exhaust mentioned and tested. What bothers me most is the fact that you clearly can hear and differ the aftermarket exhaust from an OE sports exhaust. None of them have the deep and roaring original Porsche Eisenman sports exhaust sound. Try it and you will understand 😉
Wow. I’ve also got a 996.2. This is the best video I’ve seen for exhaust systems. Keep up the good work Jay. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks a lot! I hope you enjoy it!

Oh and make sure you buy from Flat 6 Motorsports! Great people who can’t do enough for you.

Thanks Jay! Can’t wait to see Part 2. Hope to see you soon. I will be at the CVR Concours next weekend. Hope to see you there!
Maybe you’ll see your old car, Mike! I wont be there this time because I’ll be down in NC at the Tail Of The Dragon!
Great information.
Looking forward to the next episode
Thanks Phil!
I feel like this video was a tease! I was looking forward to hearing the other exhausts today!!

Thanks Tom. Yes, on video it’s hard to discern sound very well even with the Rode mic I used. We’ll do our best though!
Wow! I am looking forward to the next video - Thank you Jay 😊👍

Very interesting, I look forward to the next video, I had considered a 'Gundo Hack' for my 997.2 C2 but I still haven't made my mind up.

Yes, agreed! I’m planning a dump video for the 928 soon pre and post new exhaust. Stay tuned for that!

Niiiice!
Are you saying two pipes in one or one literally over like on top of the other? The new Mustangs sound pretty good so this must be a good set up.
Oh you teasing so and so Jay…..😬 Bring on episode 2 😉
Haha! Thanks Gregg!
I just ordered the Supercup exhaust last week! Won’t be here in time for the Dragon trip though 😕

I lost interest upon hearing the word Tiptronic 😂
Oh how hilarious! What a narrow mind you have. It’s a test of exhaust systems! Gearbox makes NO DIFFERENCE!
