Thank you. Such a good ride. Thats crazy! Talk about getting in great biking shape. I bet they have a large biking community that does that ride. (We worked at a hospital too, and it was a good stress reliever)
Tyler you definitely crushed it, Pure will power and determination, True Grit like I named my bike, And Kari as support and little Spencer most definitely helped alot. I ❤️ yalls videos, what an enjoyment it is to watch. Yall truly amaze me in every one yall put out. Always stay safe and have fun cycling
So happy I was able to complete it. Thank you. They were absolutely essential to completing this ride. Thank you. Happy you enjoy them and we love the support. Thank you. And you as well!
Quote of the day "you're not seventeen anymore." Lol. I like your training style as it doesn't take as much time as riding every day. Awesome job doing support I felt we forgot a chair or massage table. Second quote of the day is "we're making it." Awesome job to both of you and thanks for sharing.
Haha yeah I felt it on that one. Yeah, that’s a new training technique I’m trying out. Just don’t train and hope for the best. Maybe a few more miles would have helped. Thanks for watching. We appreciate the comment and support. Also that massage table isn’t a bad idea.
"Nothin' like some kisses & some cookies to refuel" - Love it! Congrats on the finish. The Cookie Cabin is great, but you missed out on the best reward for pedaling up.. biking 'down' the mountain! Off the road, Mt. Lemmon has great mountain biking trails (Bug Springs, La Milagrosa), hiking, camping, Rose Canyon lake.. It's also a rock climbing mecca. I grew up here and live near the base, so this is my playground. Thanks for a great highlight of Tucson.. along with your Loop video. Come back soon! (not in summer) :)
Haha kept me going! Thank you. What a brutal ride. I definitely was bummed not biking down but that bike I had with me had such a touchy handlebar I didn’t feel comfortable keeping it steady at speed. I need to go back with a different bike. I didn’t know about the rock climbing but would love to revisit for camping and mountain biking. That’s such an awesome place to enjoy. I’m sure you have some great adventures. Thanks for watching. Hope it was entertaining. We loved Tucson. Definitely not summer though.
You guys like to make it harder by riding the wrong bikes (ref Bixby Big Sur ride) :D I crew for my husband when he does epic rides, too. Good work, Kari!
Hahaha sometimes we do. And we still laugh at that bixby Big Sur video. May have to do a redemption of that one someday with the proper bike. I’m sure your husband appreciates the support. I couldn’t have made it without Kari.
Unfortunately that was the lightest and thinnest tire bike I have. It did feel like a good accomplishment, but if I ever go again, I’ll be looking for something lighter lol.
Found you guys via your RagBrai vids and have followed along since. Really enjoy the riding content. I live in PHX and am considering this ride. I did last years RagBrai and I’m curious how this ride compares to your hardest RagBrai day? Thanks!
Thank you. We appreciate that and happy you have enjoyed them. Those are some of our favorite adventures. Nice! Phoenix is a beautiful spot. Well, I was definitely out of shape for this ride, but I would say it was NOT harder than my hardest Ragbrai day last year. Mostly because I got plenty of sleep before this ride and stayed in a bed not a tent lol. It was by far the hardest continuous climb I have ever done, but enjoyable as well. I’m not sure I would have had the same experience though if it wasn’t for Kari having snacks along the way. Overall, difficult, doable, comparable to a very hard day on Ragbrai.
@@jareddaniel7531you’re very welcome. Hope the ride goes well for you. Bring a SAG service for snacks lol. Worth it. Good luck and thank you, hope to have some fun adventures coming up soon.
What an accomplishment!!!! I'm an Az guy (Phx) and a mountain biker. I've never done that route but know quite a few who have....and they're monster riders. Great ride and thanks for bringing us along!!!! (BTW....how many days after that trek did it take to be walking normal?....I'm sure it would take a lot for me. :-😊)
Thank you so much 🙏. After seeing so many people try this ride, I had to at least give it a go. Happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. Haha well overall soreness just a few days, but my knee for some reason was very unhappy and took about a week to stop bothering me. Also, mountain biking definitely sounds challenging. Never done much but always looks fun.
@@jayobannon5359we would love that. Have to find some time to get out there. When we visited Maui I should have done Haleakala but didn’t, and want to one day. Is it the big island that has some good ones too?
Im confused on this one. 360p upload? Tyler was riding his old Surly bike, why wouldnt you ride the Priority bike for this? Was this an old video? What am I missing here? lol Trying to watch this was causing me blurred vision 🙄
I apologize. Apparently RUclips had not processed the HD version yet. It should be done shortly. As for the surly, it just made sense to climb the mountain with a thinner tire for some additional speed. It is a new video, most updated adventure we have done. Hopefully in about 30 mins quality will be back to HD.
I’m interested in cycling up and mountain biking down.. are there vacation packages which are all inclusive? Air,auto ,bikes ( Rental) lodging ect …?? I want to cycle up one day stay at the top then Lemon drop the next.. thanks
I’m not sure about any of that unfortunately. I haven’t heard anyone talk about that large of a package deal. I did see a tour group on the mountain that was guiding a group on bikes. But since I didn’t use them, I don’t know the name of it.
@@davidelcess6559now that I do know. Absolutely. Tucson itself has multiple bike rental shops. We brought our own, but there are several in the area that rent both road and mountain bikes. I’ve heard of Tucsonbikerentals.org but I know there are a few others. I don’t know about any on top of mt Lemmon.

I am forced to watch at 320, so it looks great to me.

I live 5miles from the Catalina Hwy! My favorite place! Cookie cabin is great but expensive!
Such a nice place. Beautiful views of the mountain. It was a little expensive. But delicious after a ride.
The cookies are huge and delicious!

What a sick ride! Gotta do it sometime
worth it. Crazy long. Fun to do for sure. I’ll go with you next time.
Just don’t try this one with the silver stallion 🚲

You can ride all the way to the top. Past the gate at Summerhaven.
Someone at work just told me that. Honestly, I was exhausted and happy with just summerhaven. However when I return, maybe that will be the next goal.

It probably would had been easier on a belt drive Gemini or 600 lol
Probably with those ultra low gears. I didn’t want to try the 600x though just cause the weight and big tires.
You need a really lightweight bike and three chainrings.
Definitely would have made that ride easier. The gearing wasn’t terrible, but could be better for sure.
