  • With a max elevation of 8,160 ft, this was by far the highest cycling climb I have ever done. In total, 37 miles from hotel door to the top of Mt Lemmon.
    Total Miles: 37
    Elevation gain: 6,197 feet
    Memories: To last a lifetime
    Special thanks to Kari who was more than just a support driver. If it wasn't for her, I would not have been able to complete this ride.
    Want to ride this, here is my Strava (sorry for the one wrong turn in the beginning)

    "Nothin' like some kisses & some cookies to refuel" - Love it! Congrats on the finish. The Cookie Cabin is great, but you missed out on the best reward for pedaling up.. biking 'down' the mountain! Off the road, Mt. Lemmon has great mountain biking trails (Bug Springs, La Milagrosa), hiking, camping, Rose Canyon lake.. It's also a rock climbing mecca. I grew up here and live near the base, so this is my playground. Thanks for a great highlight of Tucson.. along with your Loop video. Come back soon! (not in summer) :)

    • @TylerandKari
      @TylerandKari  2 месяца назад +1

      Haha kept me going! Thank you. What a brutal ride. I definitely was bummed not biking down but that bike I had with me had such a touchy handlebar I didn’t feel comfortable keeping it steady at speed. I need to go back with a different bike. I didn’t know about the rock climbing but would love to revisit for camping and mountain biking.
      That’s such an awesome place to enjoy. I’m sure you have some great adventures. Thanks for watching. Hope it was entertaining. We loved Tucson. Definitely not summer though.

    • @TylerandKari
      @TylerandKari  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you. We appreciate that and happy you have enjoyed them. Those are some of our favorite adventures. Nice! Phoenix is a beautiful spot. Well, I was definitely out of shape for this ride, but I would say it was NOT harder than my hardest Ragbrai day last year. Mostly because I got plenty of sleep before this ride and stayed in a bed not a tent lol. It was by far the hardest continuous climb I have ever done, but enjoyable as well. I’m not sure I would have had the same experience though if it wasn’t for Kari having snacks along the way. Overall, difficult, doable, comparable to a very hard day on Ragbrai.
