  • When I moved to Tucson, one of the reasons was to take advantage of all the hills and climbs, so that's exactly what I'm doing.
The Ironman in Lake Placid is going to have 6,000ft of elevation gain, so I need to practice as much as I can while I have it.
This was also my first attempt at going up and down Mount Lemmon and proved to be a tough but really good bike ride. It took me approximately 3 hours to get to the top, which is nearly a straight incline from the bottom.
Even though it's a tough climb, it offers some breathtaking views and if you get there before the rush (unfortunately we didn't), there's a cookie cabin at the top for a nice reward snack.
Only a month left in Tucson, these elevation rides are a must to help me improve my abilities climbing (which seems to be a weakness currently).

I was reading once that long rides should be steady to build endurance, short rides hard and fast to build strength.
    Some beautiful scenery. 👍

Interesting. Well, I'm definitely building the steady rides then 😅 I do need to work in more segments and hard efforts though.
It truly is! The videos definitely don't do it justice.

The Old Pueblo. I lived there for ten years and didn’t start cycling til I moved back to Cleveland. Love it there. Great video
