Dreamcatcher debuted with the intention of standing out by adopting an anti-mainstream concept and sound. They’ve been persistently going their own way no matter how unpopular it may be. Although they’re still not accepted by the general public, they are a highly respected group within the industry itself. If this isn’t your type of music, that’s totally fine. Dreamcatcher aren’t for everyone. You might be more privy to their bsides where they experiment with all types of genres outside of the typical rock sound they have in their title tracks.
Dreamcatcher use a dance troupe, so there are many dancers. They also do a lot of genres, from R&B, to Pop, to Funk, Punk, Rock and Metal. Their main thing is a fusion of all these genres, into their own unique style. Their main sound is Pop-Rock and Pop-Metal for their title songs, but their b-sides can be anything from Jazz to J-Metal. For example, their latest album (their 10th EP) has a beautiful song called "Fireflies", which reached #2 on the Melon Ballad Chart in Korea and I strongly recommend it. There are also great songs like Boca, BEcause, Fairytale, Red Sun, Jazz Bar, Scream, Sleep Walking, 4Memory. They've even made an MJ tribute song, called Black or White. I think you'd enjoy all these songs. Their catalogue is truly amazing, since it has everything in it. The crown jewel is of course Deja Vu, an amazing OST song for a game. Dreamcatcher have a strong lore and there's always a stroryline in their duologies or trilogies. This time, it was Villains (in OOTD) vs Heroes (in Justice) theme. Previously, they've done the amazing Apocalypse trilogy, that deals with an environmental catastrophe that ruins Earth. They've even did BEcause, a horror song, based on Jordan Peele's film Us, and also the Dystopia Trilogy, dealing with the evils of our online world.
dreamcatcher \:D/ only 7 in the group, the rest are just dancers. they don't stick to any single lane, but are known for mixing various genres including and especially rock into their songs. so if you aren't really into rock/metal, you probably won't get too much into their title tracks 😅. even for their non-rock songs, they don't do what 'other kpop groups' do so you will likely not expect anything when you check out any song from them. you can try their song 'black or white'(watch the dingo performance video, it has subs) which is inspired and pays homage to mj.
No worries Dreamcatcher have the tendency to culture shock new listeners and people in general lol if you want more Jazz and vintage r&b Ill recommend Jazz bar,Polaris,All day long,lock inside a door etc…

You're right on the money with Paramore, lots of Dreamcatcher fans listen to bands like Paramore, Within Temptation, Baby Metal, and Nightwish. They mix genres a lot but their title tracks usually do the soaring vocals + heavy guitar thing, it's their signature sound. It's not for everyone and rock is like an older dude music genre in Korea, so their following is small locally but they have a dedicated international following. I think Scream or Maison is easier to get into imho. Their previous title track, OOTD, sounds more commercially kpop (it's a meta-commentary on the Blackpink girl crush sound) and it's almost universally reviled by the fanbase because of that lmao.

Btw one of my favorite R&B song from the entire K-Pop realm is actually a Dreamcatcher song. The actual genre is Alternative R&B, Trap [Special Clip] Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 'Wonderland' Followed by "I miss you" by Mamamoo and "Left Right" by XG (I place them in the K-Pop realm anyway)
You won't be able to map them to anything you have heard before, they are pretty much in their own genre so it is just natural to be confused at first. In their title tracks they mix rock/metal into K-Pop. Dreamcatcher is a 7 member vocal K-Pop group and they are really good vocalists. This otherwise vocally really hard song has a live version with full choreography with raw spatial audio and no vocal backing track and they kill it. Not many groups would dare to even try something like that as 5/6 of them are doing hard belting. Also most groups are just too young to have members with mature enough vocal chords for something like this.
