Hey man , nice new video glad your back. Shame about the cabover. Just a suggestion but i remember you fitting some premco injectors. If you opened the fuel punp up a bit, it might of developed an oil leak due to the increased power causing more crank case pressure. An easy solution is to simply add and extra breather port on the valve case's.
@@lifeintrucking.eduardomorales I recently bought a pete 352 with a big cam 400, so eventually ill probably be adding bigger injectors too. For now im just doing loads of little odd jobs. Although i have upgraded the exhaust from a 5inch to 6 inch straight through. Sounds nice !!!
Did you replace the fuel check-valve by the ECM? I have had to replace mine several times.. of course I replaced just about everything else before I found it in the beginning
Question brotha when you removed the Jake's did you have to adjust anything on Those? Or is it just a remove and install when done? Of course torque them after
Does it matter what position the injector is in??? Because I don’t want to mess with adjusting it either….I just have an overfilling issue with chicago cold starts…goes away after it warms up…
Not really. I've done it both ways. Trying to line the fuel passages or just pushing them whichever way. They have worked the same. Just for peace of mind just try and line them up as best as possible. These engines will smoke quite a bit in cold weather. If that is your concern, they are working as it should.
@@lifeintrucking.eduardomorales also thanks to your video I replaced an injector last week and it went very well. Im changing another one hopefully this weekend
@7:00 I have to believe that the shop manual recommends checking the valve clearance whenever the rockers are removed....you are already in there, what is the effort just to stick a couple feeler gauges in there before younbutton-it all up..??!!!
There are many things we don't do by the manual. When you do it enough times you'll understand what I mean. But yes, if you have no experience, definitely go by the manual.
kiki B I know, I watched a few of these type of videos and nobody knows how to do adjustment on the injectors. They just throw some new injectors in and call it good. It doesn't matter if you had perfect adjustment on your last set of injectors, once you put new injectors that weren't there before they need to be adjusted.
@@Adrian-rf8th these are the most easy to adjust. Just In case you don't know, bottom injector to 125 in/lbs and back off 2 flats. Intake .14 and exhaust .27 Hope that helps.
Great day when we get a new video from you. 👍
Very good info thank you for sharing
thats a clean n14 im surprised you retired it . Looks to have tons of life left in it
I don't like elogs. Thats the only reason i parked it. Will be looking for a driver for it.

Yes. It did add nore pressure. I think it's just old gaskets. Been parked for a while before I got it.

The Big Cam heads rarely fail, the block prolly needs shaved. Doing mine now.. notorious for that

I haven't had to. I did clean it once. Also the on on the fuel pump.
I would love to whatch a video of you overhauling the cabover
Yes dont let the cabover die love that old truck.
I won't. I'll be putting a driver on this truck and getting back on the cabover
@@lifeintrucking.eduardomorales Still working on mind won't have it finished probably next summer have to do it outside I don't have a shop.
Yea. It sucks outside. Had to do it myself for many years. But you do what you can. Wish you luck on the truck.
@@lifeintrucking.eduardomorales Thanks buddy I will.
Hey how do you do injector adjustment? I have one injector I gotta replace to see if it solves my miss
Inner base method. Adjust injector first at 6 inch lbs then valve lash. See my video. I explain it on there
So what would you suggest on a 2000 mercury villager crank but no start issue
Battery, alternator, starter, crank sensor, fuel pump
Do you need to replace the injectors cups when replacing the injectors?
No. But do inspect for cracks etc
Question brotha when you removed the Jake's did you have to adjust anything on Those? Or is it just a remove and install when done? Of course torque them after
No adjustment needed
Thank you I really appreciate it! I had some one replace 2 injectors now it's rough idling cold normal idle when warm, they did remove the rockers
@@juanjuarez4372 when you do any injector work you want to do injector adjustment.
@@lifeintrucking.eduardomorales yes sir most definitely thank you for your help!
Compadre, did you rebuild the Big cam?
I have not. But I really need to get going with it.
Can the heads be replced whit out rrmoving the injector on the n14 rocker box
Yes
Just clarifying, the injector is on the head, not the rocker
Arent you supposed to adjust the injectors once you torque the rockers?
Depends what your doing with the rockers. Did you move your adjustments? New gaskets etc?

You skipped the most important part. Injector and valve adjustment.
On the Detroit?
Never mind. I see its for the cummins. Like I stated on the video, I was not moving any adjustments.

Whats the point of making a video if you're not going to film the entire process.
