Steven here! She was absolutely amazing and this was one of my favourite investments of the season. I do wish you could have seen the full pitch - roughly 1.5 hours long. The deal has gone through and me and Debroah are at work on the business x
I had no idea the pitches were that long! I’m surprised! I have to admit it I always found it bizarre that so much cash was thrown around in so little time, so thanks for completing my understanding!
You're the breath of fresh air the Den needed Steven. You don't have blinkers on like some of the veterans of the show!, this is a fantastic business to be involved in, well done 👏.
An incredible mother and an amazing business oriented person. This should seriously kick off all around the world for the sake of the planet and to help millions of struggling parents.
Peter Jones is out of touch with reality. Sustainable fashion is currently experiencing a boom, brands have to emphasise their commitment to ecological integrity and reducing their carbon footprint. Charity and second hand/thrift store shopping is insanely popular at the moment, and that trend will continue.
@Tasteofgoatfart But you’ll buy new clothes from a store that will have been touched by warehouse people, trucking people, store staff, probably more members of the public than any charity shop, tried on by people and put back on shelves! Even if you buy online the clothes come into contact with dozens of people in that production and mailing line. To not buy second hand because of covid makes no sense at all I’m afraid!
@Tasteofgoatfart all you need for 2nd hand clothes is to chuck those in a washing machine before you wear them and you will be fine...same thing you need to do if you buy from a store or online. Never put clothing on straight off of a rack.
It has hidden costs, or hidden from the casual viewer though not to the dragons. Cleaning the clothing is one. Storage and handling costs can eat the profit very quickly, and unpopular styles will get need to be binned quickly or managing the inevitable long-term inventory very quickly. Many brands of children's clothing, especially knockoffs of the better brands like fake polo clothes, wear out very quickly indeed. And right now, with Covid-19 and infection concerns, exchanging clothing demands thorough washing.
@X2 JoelMK 33 You're lucky. If you can't get there at the right time of day, the pickings can be sparse. And I've met some charity shop workers who volunteered only to pick through good for the best items for their own homes and families, which was very rude.
@@Silvercloud-cg7gs It's fraud, and theft. Donations are not provided for the volunteers, they are provided for the community through the charity. If the volunteers put them on the shelves, and *paid* for them out of their own pocket, I could see it, especially if they gave the public a chance to purchase them first.
@The Padded Cell It's at least fraud, if they're setting aside the items, for themselves, before they're even available to the public. It's theft when the volunteers simply stuff the best items in their own bags and leave without paying, it's theft. That's very distinct from a discount for items that have at least been offered to the public, which is a reasonable perk.
Love these dragons!!! Don’t rob them if equity, thanks to Steven and Sarah, and they show emotion. Btw, what an entrepreneur! One of the best in the den
This idea can easily be taken to an international scale. Thank you so much Charlotte for coming up with a concept that could boost sustainability and environment preservation
that's a great idea! they really should get it out there and make this a big thing, cause i think this is the future, and would help every parent around the world, cause we all struggle with that! all the power to you milady!
She's just so full of positivity!!! I mean she had a fair amount of confidence + she knew her facts + she's passionate about her idea. But it's her positivity that shines through the most 🌄
I have a 3yo, so I 100% LOVE this idea! I hope this grows to be a massive success. I just donate all my son's clothes when he grows out of them, so the charity shops kind of do what she is doing with her business, but having a child/clothing dedicated and quality controlled business would definitely be a hit! I would subscribe to this!!
@@farazaslam4329 if they've been washed why does it matter? children grow out of clothing so quickly most of secondhand childrens clothes have barely been worn
@@farazaslam4329 you seem to have lots of money, in comparison to others who struggle. I think it's a brilliant idea. Maybe you make all that money yourself, or you're on the dole, if it's the latter were ALL paying for your up keep, to put it bluntly
@-A agree with this. Children grow so fast and so much goes to waste. I think this is a great idea personally and their is nothing wrong with reusing clothes. I guess the person who posted that comment wouldn't have a problem with using used and second hand clothes if she couldn't afford brand new.
This is a great idea and kudos to her for not being scared away by the big players like Peter is saying. Someone needs to start having a go at this concept it is long overdue.
This is just brilliant this can help so many families. What a great business idea. This is definitely going to blow up just a matter of time. Love this show so much.
Wow, I’ve watched this twice, once as it came up on Facebook and the second time because I searched for it on here. Children’s fashion doesnt move as quickly as Women’s fashion and if this had been around when my kids were being born, I would have used it. My friends and I have shared all our kids clothes around and when my boys were the last, most of the clothes still looked new; a few had been casualties. I wished that recycling had been more in the front of peoples minds 20/30 years ago. I wish you every success in finding ethical partners in children’s clothing. Amazing idea
I don't have time to watch the show, but YT recommended this to me. I don't have children but I am a very doting auntie and god mother. I absolutely adore this idea, and immediately sent the video and links to the Little Loop website to my closest friends and my sister-in-law. I've offered to buy 1 month taster subscriptions for each small child, 4mo, 10mo, 2 yr, 3yr, 3.5yr, 4 yr, and 6yr if they think the concept works for them. And then I came back watched this video again and wrote this comment. Such a lovely idea. Sarah seems so genuine and thrilled that Steven and Deborah are onboard.
I love this, but I do think a lot of families already do this on a smaller scale. I know my wife recycles all of our youngest clothes to other families where we live. Best of all she does this for free, no money ever changes hands. We have recently started to pass on other goods such as toys, furniture, sporting equipment in the hope that we are doing our little bit to help the planet and other families.
@Demon Slayer in a perfect world we would all be able to do this. I appreciate that we don’t live in a perfect world though, hence why we support where we can when we can. I think this lady has found her calling and to be able to make a sustainable business for the masses is only ever going to be a good thing.
He was trying to pitch to her but it was obvious she has a very clear sense of direction, she wants sustainable and eco-friendly, and when he asked her if she would do business with H&M and Zara it was clear they weren't seeing eye to eye
God love her, sticking to her guns in regard to sustainable practices in the face of (hypothetically) being offered deals with big brands. Love seeing some integrity 😊💖
Is this a live thing at the moment? I need this in my life! The amount I spend on kids clothes just for them to grow out of it two-four months later this would save me a fortune!!
She was fabulous totally prepared for every question unlike many who go into the den a fantastic entrepreneur with an amazing idea that will help millions of struggling families plus she had the brains to ask for double the money and get two amazing dragons on board and only giving away 25% of her business I hope it will be a global success for her I'm sure it will be, I can see her being one of the biggest successes in dragons den history
I have 2 small children and it is so expensive to buy clothes constantly, so this honestly is the most incredible business idea! I will definitely be joining up on this.
I thought about this business idea when I had kids. So glad someone is doing it! We put all our kids clothes in salvos recycling bin and we didnt buy cheap kids clothing.
What an amazing idea!!! The future is bright if we start to introduce these ethicals lifestyle in our culture and most important in our mindset- well done to Debra and Steve for investing
That was one of the fastest and easiest deals I have ever seen on the Den. Couldn't have happened to a nicer lady. Well done. I love the idea and I really wish her success.
Just saying, my mom had an arrangement with a woman that had slightly-older-kids. The lady would take the clothes, put them in a big bag, write the prices down on a list (1 or 2 guilders, at the time, per item) and leave the bag at grandma's. Whenever we visited, we'd take the bag home, look through it, see if the clothes fit us, buy the ones we wanted. Then the bag went to someone else. If we didn't want the clothes anymore and they were still able to be worn (because in our case, they were usually broken, covered in paint and old) we'd gather the ones that we wanted to get rid of and go to a childrens-clothing-trading-fair, where you could trade or buy for a euro (at that point it was a euro.) Not to mention, we have a clothing-shop nearby where you can donate and "purchase" for free, all the childrensclothing.
I want thelittleloop to become big and sucessful so that when I have kids in about 6 to 7 years, I can get clothes from them. I'm 19 at the moment and love to get clothes second hand when I need to. Vinted, depop etc, love them and use them all the time.

I agree - I had to rewatch her pitch actually, because it went a bit fast at the start - would've loved to have seen more details of the pitch.
agreed. Longer clips please
