  • The last few passages have been ones we won't soon forget - but would like to. Sailing to windward, flooding the boat with salt water and all bilge pumps failing, losing our anchor on passage and scaring the crap out of ourselves. We've had a few nights in the marina for repairs, maintenance and reprovisioining, now we're filling up and heading north. With looming storms, we start to anticipate yet another uncomfortable passage. You never know whats around the corner when you're sailing. Join us for a passage to forget the last few, as we average 8 knots surfing up to 10 knots to the sanctuary of the Newry Islands! As the conditions subside we settle into the beauty and joy of passage making while cruising. Get an insight into what our relationship is like being a young couple living on a small sailboat together in our beginner sailing journey - what we do to stay fit and how we pass the time.

OK. I do not write here at all, but I must point out my thoughts this time. La Vagabonde is the King Sailing RUclips Chanel, but you to youngsters make so much nice content out of small recourses! Music, editing, stories, and nice approach towards selling life make this channel amazing.

Two bits of advise - NEVER put the dinghy in the water without being tied to your yacht. And after it hits the water put in the oars. If things go haywire & your dinghy gets loose you won't retrieve it before a croc. or shark gets you. Vice versa when lifting your dinghy on. The oars are the last to leave the dinghy & better to take out when on the deck. I know because I learnt the hard way in Whitsundays & had to swim after it. I was solo sailing.

Hey Geoff thanks for saying gday!
Sonya’s tail and foot was supposedly eaten at the pet store the previous owners told us. We rescued her off gumtree. Her tail or foot won’t grow back unfortunately! She is still happy it seems and doesn’t affect her having a great time. Cheers, Josh

That means I'm 2nd. Wtf..!!! We have a fantastic day across the ditch, so planned on being out in my patch getting ready for some harvesting. Thought I'd check first to see what new things had arrived. Crikey, NKOTD had uploaded. Oh well, here we go. Luckily it's still fine. The veg patch won't be going anywhere soon. Btw, I'm only here for the Sonya content. 😂 Sorry.!! Hey I'm planning on flying over to Melbourne about May?? So probably not a fair question to ask, but are you likely to be within a bulls roar of the big M. ?? Would love to catch up. Thank you again for sharing. Take care and atb from over here.

Hey Steve, our sailing clothing locker is severely inadequate. With no good wet weather gear, we get soaked on every wet passage. As we buy everything second hand and reuse stuff we already have you’ll have to put up with us wearing the ugly/ unfashionable and plain darn useless clothing until we can aquire something better! It will be awesome to see the transformation as time goes on. Cheers mate, Josh

I know 😩 biggest face palm EVER. When I wrote it out the first time in my Notes it must have autocorrected…and I fear that it’s been “straight” for every video without me realising because I copy and paste the text in and just change the name of the Mob. I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to realise…including myself 😝
