How to tell if a guy likes you if he’s shy ☺️. 6 signs a guy likes you.
By far the most common question I get is some variation of how to tell if a guy likes you!
I’ve done about 7 videos on the various scenarios that apply to this topic. All of them are different. How to tell if a guy likes you at work. How to tell if a guy friend likes you as more than a friend. How to tell if a guy likes you through his text messages. How to tell talking on the phone. How to tell body language and so on. I’ll link all of those videos below if some of you are interested. I get this question at least twice a day on my Instagram alone. It doesn’t seem to slow down.
Recently a girl asked me how to tell if a really shy guy likes you. She then described a bunch of his odd and often unattractive behavior. And I started thinking about all the ways girls misjudge and misunderstand guys like this. These men are generally written off because of how they function when in the presence of a crush. Many are much masculine and even alpha then they may seem. You just have to give some of them time to get used to you. Shy guys usually have a habit of misrepresenting themselves in front of beautiful women.
In no particular order, these are 6 signs a really shy guy likes you.
He may seem really soft around you.
Fear of women can suppress masculinity. I’ve known tough strong rugged men to take shrunken feminine posters and take all the base out they voice when they talk to a woman they like. Men like this especially large ones can feel an inherent need to appear nonthreatening around a woman they like which can cause them to soften all of their mannerisms.
Fear of women can be paralyzing. Some guys get so nervous they appear dainty or even gay when in the presence of a woman they like. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard a girl say something to the effect of “omg far real, I thought he was gay” after finding out a guy liked her. He not gay. He’s suppressing behavior he perceives may be threatening to you.
The second sign a really shy guy likes you often has the opposite effect.
He puffs up his chest and takes an aggressive posture any time your around in an effort to display his alfa qualities. He wants to be seen as the strong dominant type. Because of this, he’s often seen by his crush posturing as if he has seen a threat. Sometimes guys overdo it to the point of looking hostile or dangerous to the women they are attracted. He puffs up to look more masculine but he’s usually quiet because he’s terrified at saying something stupid or making himself look dumb. He’s going for the strong silent thing but he just looks crazy.......
They try to show you they like you in nonverbal ways. Usually small gifts or favors they don’t have to or just refuse to explain. Like in school or at work at lunch time they may always offer something to you that they know you want just to get a thank you so they can like “no problem” The guy who always shares your favorite snack with you but doesn’t stay to converse is most likely your biggest fan.....
They avoid talking to you. As stupid as it seems when you try to talk to them they scurry away. It can feel impossible to get this guy the say more than 2 or three words to you even though he’s always so sweet to you. People aren’t usually in the habit of facing their fears but avoiding them. They know that because of their nervousness it’s hard to have a naturally flowing conversation with you.
Another tell-tell body language sign is perfuse sweating. If you start talking to a guy and his forehead is dry in a few words into talking to him he’s whipping sweat from his face and forehead it means he’s terrified. People sweat when they are really nervous or they care too much about what a crush thinks....

I have a young relative who when she was in middle school boys considered her as OK looking but with high school boys it is like a teenage version of Zoe Saldana or Scarlett Johasson walked in the room. She is in high school now and all she constantly hears from many, many, many high school boys is how pretty she is. No it is not because she is one of the younger freshman girls she is a junior in high school now. One thing she noticed is that even when she was in middle school most high school boys thought she was really pretty where as most middle school boys thought she was ok looking. Do boys change their taste or something when they get older?
In all honesty When a guys initially sees you he puts you into three categories: Wifey, Smashable, or Issa No (Pass). If you, nor the guy are talking to are celibate or practicing abstinence you'll never quite know if a guys likes and is feeling you until AFTER sex. I'm not saying sleep around and have sex with every guy you date, but being aware of this fact will allow you to better decide if this is a guy you want to deal with and the overall reality of dating.
The reality is that a guy might not be straightforward about his intentions or simply pretend he wants more than sex so that you can get comfortable enough with him. Keep in mind that guys don't necessarily need to like you to be down to have sex with you. He might like you enough to smash, but not enough to the point where he sees you as wifey and envisions himself in a relationship with you.
The truth is that to really know a man is interested in you the two of you would have already gotten physical in some aspect. If he continue to hangout with you after smashing and initiates other dates and plans that are non sexual then more than likely he's really feeling you and it's only a matter of time till y'all become official. It's true that if you make guys wait they'll be less of them that are down to do that, but the other side to that is some guys will wait with you until you're comfortable enough while they continue to deal with other girls. The solution at the end of the day is to either remain celibate or straight up understand that you're choosing to smash a guy because you genuinely want to without the thinking that he'll leave you or with the thought that you're trying to keep him. Don't let a guy pressure you into sex if you're not in a space where you're bout that life. If you didn't want to, but then he leaves or changes up you may end up feeling quite.
What if he texted me at the table at dinner in a group setting? He texted me asking if I were having fun. It was 14 of us at the table and we were not sitting directly across from each other.

I will be honest, with the danity thing, that's so accurate. When I see this guy and he doesn't know I'm there, he's super alpha male, posture strong and confident. When he finally sees me his entire persona changes. Hunched over. Quiet and stuttering even though he isn't even talking to me but around me. I know a guy at church who is a lector (reader) like me. I didn't know him as well then, but I know him now to be on the shy side. He complimented me on how I did my reading, and lately he did something he NEVER did before. He sent me a personal e-mail about how the last reading I did really moved him at the last mass. I told him thank you, and that I appreciated it. Never got an e-mail from him before. He does hug me when I see him, and that has to be huge for someone like him. He very rarely makes the first move with that. I do. I don't want to read too much into it. We're both in our early 50's and have never been married. But he's tall and very attractive to me.

I feel you bring up so many good points. There is a very shy guy at work, that for over a year, has been doing all the things you mentioned, and “dancing” around dating. If they are interested in you approach them or at least show them you are interested. According to how shy he is, he may either reciprocate feelings for you or act like he's not interested but will continue to show signs of interest and may get comfortable with you after some time. Show interest and give him some time to get comfortable with you. Some guys may get comfortable with you at a quicker pace than others.

chelsie romero yes I show them, but they always send me mixed signals like being cute or smiling at me and then suddenly they ignore me or react really weird or mean when I talk to them or something... and then I feel really discouraged and don‘t know how to act around them or what to think
@@Sophie-bc7hv just give them some time to get comfortable with you. If he smiles at you he's definitely interested. I experienced the same thing. He smiled at me without direct eye contact. Give him some space to get comfortable with you. The more comfortable he gets he will open up to you. Just don't let him see you flirting with another guy, he may take it as you are not interested in him. You can even try complimenting him, that could help.

This has got to be one of the best videos on this topic and I think it was meant for me to see it. My shy guy is definitely doing nice things when needed and the avoidance thing too.
He would always greet me with a "Good Morning" when I came in to work in the morning. I thought it was too sweet.
Recently, I noticed he would walk quickly past me in the hallway at work to avoid having a conversation with me. At first I thought I was just seeing things but I've watched him from afar and this isn't a natural pace for him. And it's also not how he interacts with other coworkers.

I've had a crush on this guy for almost two years. He seemed really shy and awkward but also really sweet. I'm pretty shy myself and i suffer from social anxiety so i never went out of my way to talk to him (plus when I first met him I was 16 but i looked 12 and he was 19 so i though it might be wierd.) The other day i was visiting the church/congregation he goes to and he got called to answer a question and read a few verses. He was struggling and his voice sounded like a kid. I was not expecting that at all but i could empathize with him because as a shy person i've experienced similar situations. After that day i almost wrote him off because at that point i thought he was too shy and awkward for me. I'm typically drawn to men with deeper voices and have the confidence to read and talk in front of people. However, after watching this video i think i'll give him a shot. I'm sure he has a great personality and is an interesting guy and i really want to see that side of him.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I think he likes me back. He does all those shy guy things around me and I've caught him staring a couple times. He could just be like that around all girls though.

Also being called creepy can go both ways and be just as hurtful! For example I got called creepy by a guy who I called at work because I got worried about him. We had planned to meet up the next day when suddenly wasn't able to reach him because his phone broke and I had no other way to contact him. He never told me exactly where he worked except for a café in the airport so it was pretty easy to find out the number and call him. On one end I can understand why someone might find that creepy but I was only worried about him. I was so worried something might of happened to him and just wanted to know he was alright. I just cared about him and it hurt so much he took me caring as being creepy :(
We still stayed friends for a while afterwards and met up a couple times but it still hurt me that he said that and made me not want to spend as much time with him anymore.
I will definitely keep that in mind: don’t call him at work unless he asks me to. I’m learning new dating techniques and it’s so exciting from trying to do it my own way! Very sensible and helpful.

He's obviously shy! If you are interested in him, show him you are interested. Also give him some time to get comfortable with you. Forcing yourself on him will just make him run! I mean what would you do if you were dreadfully scared of something and someone force it on you and tells you that in order to overcome your fears you have to face it? I mean you may eventually have to face it, but it's better to get comfortable with it before facing it.

He always glances to look at me. He even did that when I was in a relationship but I’m not now. Also another thing he does is talk to other girls and then I notice him and then I feel jealous. This was better than I expected. I subscribed lol I'm the kind of person who thinks I can read others well lol. Went off on vacation recently and there was this guy that always wanted to be the center of attention. We were on the same team for this camp thing and he completely blew me off, ignored me when I tried to answer his questions. I just thought he was a douche. Sometimes I'd catch him looking in my direction. and then he'd stand up and talk to someone near me. Hey Kev. I hope you and your family are enjoying this Holiday weekend. Anywho I actually dated a “shy guy” before (this was years ago) and he was actually really sweet, affectionate and pretty out going and like to travel. To me he was mostly shy when he was I guess liking me and didn’t know how to say it (I actually thought it was cute ☺️ he actually was a cutie! 😉) needless to say his friend finally broke the ice between us and underneath the shyness he was sort of amazing.

Omg my crush does all off these , like for instance he turns up places at the same time , always looks at me when I’m not looking and turns away, sometimes stares and smiles and waves , then the next day or so pretend I’m not there but he always looks uncomfortable. I’ve tried to speak to him and he’s very sweet but he never initiates anything. I’ve caught him driving in circles when he sees my car and driving past again turning his head , driving down 1 way streets I’m walking down so he can drive past, turning up to things miles from where he lives because I said I might be there etc , then there’s the staring ! He also turns up at the gym exactly the time I told him I go, and when I change my routine he does too, he’s unbelievably attractive but has no social skills , I’m attractive too so I’m not out his league , I’ve dropped so many hints I liked him but I got fed up of his weirdness I blocked him and pointed out his odd behaviour via text , he didn’t defend himself or explain, I don’t they because I convinced myself he hates me because he’s so outgoing to everyone but me, now I’ve given up and I avoid him like the plague , that’s why he drove down a 1 way street because I took a different route , it’s getting kinda creepy now, I do like him despite this but he thinks I think he’s weird and we ignore each other completely now , I deleted him and havnt spoke to him in months , what should I do

If he’s always avoided looking at you he doesn’t like you , if he avoids direct eye contact but steals glances he may like you but Is shy , if he used to make direct eye contact and then stopped he may be annoyed at something you did , or may not want to give you false hope that he likes you , it depends on the context

Kev, the behaviours you describe in the 6th sign are behaviours I consider to be odd. A man’s odd behaviours do not scare me. My definition of creepy is different. Creepy men are the men who have stalked me when I am out in public. They follow me wherever I am going in a stealthy-like manner. They look at me in a highly sexual but scary way with scary facial expressions, and they either try to touch me or actually touch me inappropriately even though we are complete strangers to one another. Their facial expressions and behaviours suggest they intend to rape me. They scare me. I run away from them or give them the slip in a crowd. This is why I always stay near crowds of people. All men are not creepy. The men who act this way are creepy and scary. I suspect other women may agree with my definition, as they probably had similar experiences.

There’s this guy at work who I was convinced liked me. I wasn’t gaga over him but he works out of a different location and I liked it when he popped in every once in a while.
