  • Something new, yet something quite old. I've had a special place in my automotive heart for "OBS" (Old Body Style) 1980 through 1996 Ford pickups since I was a youngster. I finally managed to scratch that itch via a purchase from northern Idaho. The truck only has 92,600 miles on it. Looking forward to having some fun with this one! Thanks as always for watching. And a huge thanks to Taylor at Specialty Cars & Classics in Hayden, Idaho! Here is his website: www.specialtycarscda.com/cars...

    I've had a lot of people say the 4x4 badge on the front end is factory, but from every source I've found, that was a thing on the prior generation ("Bricknose") and not a feature on my later truck generation. I referenced a few brochures as well as a couple dozen BaT auctions for similar trucks. Let me know if you have any expertise on it!

    • @jpawela
      @jpawela 3 месяца назад

      You are correct. That was a bricknose detail and the 92’+ didn’t have anything in the front other than the grille Ford logo.

    I love these OBS Ford trucks as well. This is back when trucks were trucks! The two tone exterior colour schemes were really cool, wish they still did that. My grandpa had a '92, I don't know the actual colour names but lets just say it was dark brown over old man beige, with retirement home toffee as the interior colour.

    In 2008 I bought a single cab F-250 stock gray color, bench cloth seat, no power windows in excellent condition with about 110,000 miles. I bought it for as backup to my regular work truck in my business. It came with a snow plow. Paid $5,600.
    Within a few years the rear wheel wells eroded due to N.E. rust and had to replace both gas tanks, sending units, ect... I had the body work done to fix all rust, rebuilt the existing transmission, intake manifold gaskets, ......I had it for 16 years and just let it go.
    I would've loved to restore and enjoy as I step into retirement but just don't have the room. Good solid truck. Enjoy yours Tyson. You're the right age to enjoy it and without the children you can dedicate your time and resources to make/keep it right.

    • @TysonHugie
      @TysonHugie  3 месяца назад +1

      Good to know! I guess I was curious why the Marti Report said "delete 4x4 decal" at the bottom. I need to find out what that was referring to. Also I looked at a bunch of 1994 F-250 4x4s on Bring a Trailer just now, and I don't see badges there on any that I've looked at so far.

    • @terrencerobinson2799
      @terrencerobinson2799 3 месяца назад

      Some people remove badging to clean up a vehicle visually if they don’t like it. Vehicles get “over badged” all the time by OEMs to push marketing strategies. Even Honda has been guilty of this…. LOL!!

    That is the cleanest old F250 ive seen in 20 years. If I’m not mistaken, the 4x4 under the headlight could have been factory as Ive seen many with that decal. Could be wrong. Great acquisition!

      I agree with the 4x4 badge on the front of the truck. Pretty sure that's a factory badge and came on the truck when new. Looks to be in amazing condition for a 30+ year old truck. I live in Eastern Washington and thankful we don't salt the roads in the winter! Surface rust is way easier to deal with. Can't wait to see what's next.

I bought a '94 Oxford White 4x4 Supercab identical to the one you showed your family had growing up a little over a year ago and I love driving it, but more importantly looking at. IMO 9th gen F-series are some of the best looking pickups ever built. I'd recommend having your Alcoa wheels stripped and polished, it really set these trucks off.
