Those VHS's lol. Watching the VHS static and reception brings back memories of using the dial on the back of the TV to fine tune the reception to be clear. If you know you know!
Could you imagine going back to 1999… _”Hi, Welcome to Acura pre-owned. We just received a low mileage 1997 Integra Type R for $18,500. Or, if you want something a little more subdued, we have this 1996 Integra GSR for $13,500 and 22k miles. A little more luxury? How about a 1994 Legend GS coupe 6-speed for $10,200.”_
Ohhh the classy days. Before the internet became your source of information, we relied on commercials and actually talking to people. Honda/Acura were beating Toyota/Lexus in design back then. I remember when the Legend Coupe came out and it was like a sleek spaceship. Thanks for the trip back in time Tyson.
The first dealership in the video is local to me, Buerkle Acura in Brooklyn Park, MN. It's still in business today. I remember back in the days they would have their used NSXs parked in front.
Man, I wish this was (still) around today. The way how everything was handled then seemed simple and straightforward. That's not the case nowadays, but the point is that everyone's situation is different. I enjoyed this video because it showed not only the process, but the outcome of getting a 'Preferred Pre-owned' Acura nearly 30 years ago.
Hi, I'm from Uruguay. I watch your videos. I love the Acura Legend. I have one. I'm restoring it, but here it's difficult to get parts for the car. I love the car.
It's too bad you don't see these in this good of condition anymore unless it's in the hands of a dedicated collector such as yourself. Twenty+ years ago they were typical daily drivers. Now, I rarely ever see them and if I do, they're in rough condition. Usually covered in rust, clear coat damage, cloudy headlights, sagging headliner, cracked bumpers, etc. Or they've been non-tastefully modified.
Love seeing older videos like this. Most dealers now push certified pre-owned finance sales. Leasing a loaner vehicle/certified pre-owned requires dealers to pay for the miles upfront; most dealerships don't want to do that. At least that's what I was told when I tried to lease a TLX that was a previous loaner/certified pre-owned.
Wow this is highly relevant My dad got a CPO 94 Lexus GS300 in 1997 He was cross shopping a used legend but as the story has it when he saw the Lexus it was love at first sight and he never even went to look at the Legend ! He traded in a 1992 base Civic hatchback
I missed out on when Acura dealers were more like this, though I drove some Acuras like this Legend growing up and they were awesome. I visited a dealer a few weeks ago and it kinda felt sad. Some leftover displays they hadn't let go of for the now defunct NSX, an RDX and MDX, used Integra shoved in the corner, TLX collecting dust. Salesmen seemed pretty depressed. Nothing like a Type S in stock, need to order and wait months for the only car they have generating buzz and differentiation. The GM made ZDX was there but not yet for sale. Not sure if Acura is going to be able to fight back from this position. Toyota is also neglecting Lexus a bit, but not at this level.
Is it wrong that I want to edit this video and insert footage of my TLX into the video? Precision Certified is nice, but I want my Acura to be PREFERRED! 😁 (Thanks for sharing this - absolutely awesome!)

Haha exactly!!
This is amazing!! Wish I could go back in time and purchase a Preferred Pre-owned Acura!
Haha, same.

I love these kind of videos :) I’m sure Hugie Acura will treat me right and have a great selection !👍😎😜
Come down and see our inventory

Definitely, thanks for checking it out!
For years you have put out the barn none best Content on these vehicles I’ve ever seen. It’s really nice to see them get so much appreciation♥️
Haha thanks, I'm glad a few other people out there appreciate vids like this.

I figured someone would have a local connection!
Used to be local to me. They had an NSX on the floor back in the day. It took some time for it to sell.
I wonder if that dealer knows about this uploaded video. They can look back at it for nostalgic purposes.

Definitely, they had it down to a science

Yes it is very difficult to find parts. Thanks for watching!

That's very true

Interesting stuff!
The Legend is such a pretty looking sedan and coupe.
Agree, they are great designs!
Great IDEA to Post this MANNNN
Thanks!
I generally prefer to own pre-owned Acura's from this era :)
Haha, same

That's awesome. Those were good times.

I sort of agree. I noticed an NSX display / kiosk at a local dealership recently, it felt a little sad.
Love it! Thanks Tyson.👍🏻🇺🇸
My pleasure!
I didn’t know Donald Rumsfield was an Acura spokesmen!😂
I see the resemblance!
TRACKING!!! 😂 Those early 90’s Legends..so nice!
Haha for reals. I didn't do the digitization here, but someone needed to configure their VCR a little better.
This reminds me of my 97 TL 3.2
Very similar
I’m sold! Oh wait, I already bought two Certified (Preferred?) Pre-Owned Acuras!
Also, love that music that sounds like it’s from 1980!
Haha definitely some period-correct aspects here.
Classic, I need help finding a part. The surrounding of the fog light for the sedan? The plastic with the hole for fog lights.
Check out the Acura Legend Owners & Enthusiasts FB page... about 8,000 people on there, and a pretty huge marketplace
Need to fix the tracking lol
Haha yes, luckily it gets better after a couple minutes in.
nostalgic
Blast from the past
at 8:12 looks like a miata and an eclipse in the background
Good eye

Haha. "Preferred" does sound pretty elite.
6:47 11:20 My Car Back it was Newer,
Nice!
NJ Drive type shit.
Classic
You need to get your VHS tapes converted to digital format before the condition of your tapes get much worse. Lol
Lol
1st comment! Great video
I can't take credit for it! But thanks!
