- Hey y’all!!! So I made a pot of Chilli yesterday and decided that I wanted some good southern cornbread to go with it! I said why not show you guys my recipe so you can make some too! You guys, you’ve gotta try this one out! It’s hands down the best cornbread recipe ever! Let me know what you guys think in the comments and as always, thank you so much for your support! ❤️

** FULL LIST OF INGREDIENTS **
-1.5 Cups Yellow Cornmeal
-1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 3.5 Tsp Baking Powder
- Pinch of Salt
-1/4 Cup Sugar (Optional)
- 2 Large Eggs
- ********** 2/3 Cup Whole Buttermilk WITH Sugar or 2 Cups WITHOUT Sugar *****************
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- A dollop of Duke’s Mayonnaise
Honey Butter
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Stick of Salted Butter
- 1 Tsp Heavy Whipping Cream
I made cornbread for the first time in my life tonight and HONEY BABY…..it was great. Reminded me of back home in Louisiana. I followed your recipe. Thanks baby girl.

I had to adjust some of the measurements (more buttermilk and Mayo) and cook it longer BUT it came out absolutely AMAZING!

Super Easy and delicious recipe! My family and friends loved it! As a Snortherner (northern southerner lol) I do prefer sweet cornbread and was initially disappointed that I didn’t put much sugar but my friends and family quickly countered my taste buds and advised THIS was perfect and how it should be made!

Best recipe on cornbread that I tried. I think what I like the most(i like it all) is the absent of baking soda. It tends to make the cornbread bitter.

Wow, this is the first cornbread recipe that I have found on RUclips with Duke's mayo. My mom put mayo in her cornbread which was the best. I'll be checking out more recipes on this channel for sure.

Absolutely amazing as is. I gave it a Canadian spin by adding real Canadian dark Maple Syrup to the bread for sweetness and to the butter instead of the honey. 👍 👌 I will also be trying it with added Jalapeno peppers and fresh corn kernals. Yum

So the corn and Jalapenos is awesomeness! Used 1/4 cup of real Canadian dark maple syrup instead of sugar and added 1 small can of Green Giant Peaches and Cream corn kernals and 2 Jalapenos de-seeded and diced very small. Ohhh my!
