- Commuting from work to home on the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT. I got this bike from my friend and Yamaha dealer in Frankfurt as replacement for my Yamaha Tracer 700.
My Yamaha Tracer 700 was getting new tires after 15.000 km.

The transmission sound is very nice and a lot louder than I expected it to be. Gives it a nice touch.
I'm renting one next week to drive around in the Austrian Alps. Really looking forward to that.😁
You should consider that the soundrecorder is placed unter the seat. In reality the You don't get as much sound as in this video unter your helmet and if you ride with some speed. The more the speed the less the motorsound.
I usually prefer the pops & deep rumble of a 2 cylinder, but damn that CP3 sounds juicy as well.
That gearbox/transmission sound is out of this world...... sounds almost like hybrid powertrain! :D

Yes I like the sound of the CP3 engine too. It is one of the best stock exhaust sounds inmho.
The phantom blue is the best color!

I hope that gearbox survived your savage gear shifting. Blip the throttle on downshifts, that usually helps for smoother downshifts, plus sounds awesome.
Don't worry. The bike is still running flawlessly. You are right I should shift more gently. But it is the autoshift which is not smooth o this bike.

QS works much better during harder acceleration - definitely. One thing that I hate in Tracer 900 GT is cruise control can be activated only from 4th gear. Besides that, the bike fits me perfect. I am going to get one next year. Cheers.
Correct, if you accelerate moderate it is a little bit clunky.

Why would you need to use cruse control in anything but a high gear, I feel the name suggests it use, cruising
Kevin Murphy Because of speed limit restrictions in some EU countries. Police is very sensitive, so I want to set 50km/h, but I feel the engine has a little low speed on 4th gear. Some kind of anti-ticket tool :)

Lovely bike, awesome sound and great, mature, safe ride. I only would advise to be more gentle and smooth with the gear, especially when you downshift, the gearbox is crying.
Annoying- I too noticed that immediately. He also lugs the engine at 3K rpm and doesn't downshift.
There is lots of vibrations in the bike, at certain speeds the instrument panel becomes blurry.
It is true. I have been on a long tour in the last days and I must say the vibrations on the autobahn are very annoying.

I had an MT09 for a year and I hated the whiney transmission in 3rd, 4th and 6th. Everything else was brilliant! I liked it, but didn't love it, mainly because of that harsh soundtrack. I borrowed an MT07 while it was in for new tyres and I enjoyed that experience more. So, we're looking at a Tracer 700 next to get the MT07 comfort. The 900 is better equipped and faster but I think the smaller 700 will be far more enjoyable.
I have owned a Tracer 700 for 2 years. Actually it has been my first motorcycle ever. It's absolutely a great bike for its prizetag. This year I had the opportunity to test the Tracer 900 GT for several days. In my opinion the Tracer 900 GT is in almost every aspect a better bike. It costs more, but it is worth the higher prizetag. My next bike will be a Tracer 900 GT.

Turn you handlebars all the way to the left and you can reach your ignition key easily with gloves on.
Thanks for the Advice! Still I'm not sure if I would buy the bike or not. I have to test ride the Kawasaki Versys 1000 and the Kawasaki H2 SX. After that I will decide, I think.
Versys 1000 makes a lot of engine heat. Tracer doesn't. In summer Tracer is much convenient. And also much more fun.

@@DOCOMARCAL If I had the money, I would be torn between the Versys 1000 SE, or the Tracer GT. I think I would go for the Tracer, because it is a lighter bike, but if you can lower Versys down enought... I love both of them to be honest, but in terms of looks I prefer the Tracer's Phantom Blue even though it is a flat paint, which is a shame.

I put bar raisers (2.5cm up and 2 cm backwards, this is the max for the stock clutch/brake lines) on my 900GT and I have no issue reaching the key anymore. Also a lot less pressure on the shoulders and lower back

the gear changes are a bit clunky most quick shifters are not smooth at lower speeds and shifting way too early into 2nd gear when leaving a stop but other than that awesome video, I enjoyed the ride. keep up the great work.
You are right the gear changes could be mor smooth.
DOCOMARCAL I’ve ridden this bike before and the quick shifter is clunky in lower speed but it’s a solid all around bike, ride safe
Silly quick shifting by the rider is the cause of all the clunking. I prefer smooth shifting over quick shifting. Thanks for the raw audio and no music.
Wie zufrieden sind Sie mit dem Umstieg auf den Tracer 900? Ich fuhr ebenfalls eine Tracer 700 und bin dieses Jahr auf eine Tracer 900 umgestiegen. Für mich ist es ein tolles Motorrad, aber eine Sache stört mich daran, nämlich das Geräusch des Motors, genauer gesagt das Geräusch des Getriebes. Ohrenstöpsel lösen das Problem. :)

Hey! Great video, nice quality! One question: did you find the bike to stutter a little bit down in the rev range (up to 3,5k or so) while holding a constant throttle?
Thanks. No it is not stuttering, at least I have not been feeling anyhting like stuttering, when I'm holding constant throttle. The engine is the best part of this bike I would definitely say. But what I find somehow annoying is, if you turn of the throttle complete and then turn it on at those rev range you get some change of load in the transmission, which is not smooth. These reaction you have in all bikes and cars.
You are a fast rider. Are you using clutch or quick shifter when change the gears?
Quickshifter when I'm accelerating. Tracer 900 GT has Quickshifter only upwards.
How tall are you? Can you comment the windscreen? Thanks in advance. Just subsrcibed.
I'm 177cm. The windscreen is ok, I would take the bigger windscreen (touring windscreen it is called I think) on the Tracer 900 GT.

Bro, I use 2,7K resolution most of the time, auto white balance, ND-Filter, framerate 60 and shutterspeed 120. And keep stabilization on. If stabilization of your video looks faster.

120-130 km/h I would say.

Dude, I have the same bike as you. You're short shifting way too much, drag the gears out more and don't be as quick with the clutch, you're clutch and throttle blipping timing is off. I'm not normally one to dig people up on how they ride but I have the absolute fear you do that going down the gearbox one day and go into the back of a bus. Ride safe friend.
