The psychological strength to go all the way to masters from the very beginning using only low tier Pokémon and itens is insane, but love this idea for a series!
Also, I work with children in school and it’s so accurate when you said that they usually go to an adult and just start talking about random stuff 😅 I love it though, they’re so genuine
30:50 This is what the bot ai does, when they take damage below 25% hp, they drop everything and go for heal. They prioritize berries from their lane, but if there’s none left, they do the long walk, all the way back to spawn.
They don’t recall, they don’t even use the speed flux zone, they slip through jungle at the second goal point instead.
Yeah, they really need to fix the AI especially if they're going to be constantly throwing us in bot matches. Idk if this is normal but my bots also don't attack zap at all even after all enemies are dead. It's really odd.
they do recall, i seen them recall using talonflame because they only recall when when you or your team isnt around, but if you or any members of your team is present, they run a marathon
edit: one problem i have with bots is that they dont save up their unite move, the moment they see a opponent(s) they use their unite
Using the absolute lowest tier Pokémon is a strong enough penalty that it will absolutely still be entertaining to see you running off-meta items that aren’t necessarily the worst possible items. It works as a great series for people to see how to work with their favourite Pokémon who don’t get as much example gameplay.
Jake, some Decidueye advice as Rowlett: only attack wild Pokémon at the edge of your range. You do much lower damage the closer you are to your target.
Yeah and you can attack drednaw from a safe range.
for held items, dont shot yourself on the foot too much
having no access to the usual items like muscle, score, focus, buddy, scope, and razor is already a huuuge disadvantage to most of the pokemon youre running
so i think shell bell, weakness, and energy amp should be allowed since they are very rarely used and are niche items

I started dying at 26:29 when the lvl 8 Charmeleon initiated the fight by fire punching a lvl 14 Garchomp, one of the worst Pokemon to fight at close range 🤣

Looking forward to this series! I just started playing when they introduced Hoopa. Breezed through the initial ranks with Lucario and am currently at Expert 2. I've tuned in to your vids for builds and stuff, too. So this is super helpful!

Considering you’re not using score shield I think it’s fair to run the stacking items you just gotta work for them stacks
You can determine if you are in a bot match like this:
1. Your allies don't choose their Pokemon until about 49 seconds. They wait for you to select a Pokemon of your choice, but if you don't in the first 10 seconds, they will. And their Pokemon selection is immediately confirmed.
2. On the match loading screen, all the bots will have simple portraits with the yellow background.
3. At the beginning of the match, your ally Pokemon will often refrain from getting the last hit on farm Pokemon so that you can level up first.
4. The enemy bots will stop attacking you immediately if you go into a bush or back onto your goal, even if you are at 1 HP. Same for ally bots.
5. If bots are at low HP, they will walk all the way back to base to restore HP and won't bother attacking or defending themselves in the process.
6. Sometimes the bots behave weirdly, like not scoring even if they got Zapdos.
7. When the match ends, if you try to see the profiles of bots, they will ALL be set to private.
And finally, if you are getting a lot of KOs and the match is just too easy, it is likely that it is a bot match.
I played a jungling Eldegoss one time...with a Char, Dragonite, Blastoise, and Cinder team. Yep.
Eldegoss jungle is meta in low ranks, the amount of healing and constant damage makes you nearly unkillable unless they 3v1 you.

I'm getting SO SICK of getting bad teammates. I play in standard usually (don't care for the stress of playing for points), but I always seem to get 1-2 afk players, and most of the others ignore main objectives. Why is match making SO BAD?!?!??!?!??!?!??!?+?

they should make it bulkier, let razor leaf grant a shield, and give a regen boost while using shadow sneak.

You could use energy amplifier on a pokemon whose unite move recharges really slowly, not gonna be very useful

Wanted to suggest you use quick chat and pings with players like calling them to objectives. Good way to get help and educate-worked for me when I was first picking the game up.

This was so fun to watch. As for your questions I think shell bell, energy amp, wise glasses are all fair game. As far as Pokemon.. I think Tsereena could be considered to be in a low enough tier, also either Blissey or Mime for most poorly rated support? Regardless of what you decide, I will enjoy these videos though!

@@magk2524 I do think they're both okay. But neither is a meta pick rn. He wanted to include a support in his roster that was a least favorite for this road to master series. Imo, the two least favorite supports right now are Blissey and Mime. I wasn't sayings you shouldn't pick them or that they're not useful

Dreams are pretty interesting but normally they don't make sense. It is interesting how it can affect your day rather dramatically, nightmares usually seem to happen to try to force the body to wake up when you're overheating too.

things about playing with new players are
those guy often do unpredictable moves sonehow and ppl AFK after losing lane on rank. i wouldn't mind u go AFK on standard or sumtin but maaaaaan
Love the premise of this series. Ran Blissey to Ultra 4, but I hit a wall. Tried going Cinderace whenever we had no cinderace, but doesn't seem to be working. Eldegoss doesnt seem to be working. I tried hoopa thinking his teleporting could help cordinate my team, but no one seems to know what the portals do, or just ignore them. I'm back to Blissey, I feel my persistence will pay off.
I'm pretty sure the game didn't call jungle for Aegislash, all-rounders and supporters get bottom, attackers and defenders get top and speedsters get jungle

Ideas for items on some pokemon
- Trevenant: try rocky helmet, assault vest and weakness with Xspeed
- gengar: leftovers, float stone and energy amplifier with goal getter (out of combat build XD)
- Cramorant: wise glass, special attack specs and energy amplifier with xattack (all about the unite move)
- decidueye: energy amplifier, attack weight and float stone with xattack (long range poke)
- crustle: rocky helmet, assault vest and aoes cookies with goal getter (just overall as tank as old items)

Low rank in pretty much all MOBAS will "recommend" a lane. Higher ranks, the suggestion goes away
I feel like Tsareena/supports just aren’t on the same level of bad as the mons already on the wheel.
Tsareena is the weakest all rounder, but she’s still pretty good.
And all of the supports are pretty viable, though they probably struggle more at bottom elo.
I personally think tsareena is better than charizard but OK

You mentioned Tsareena as the weakest All-rounder right now, but I honestly think people are sleeping on her. I frequently win 1v2s with her in masters, and she just represents really insane damage, sustain and map pressure. The nerfs didn't hurt her as bad as everyone seems to think. Trop Kick/Triple Axel literally never stopped being good.
Honestly, I think gengar is a lot more powerful than people make him out of. He just isn't very powerful in early game and his damage output is heavily focused on a single target, making him a good assassin for squishy carries if played right. I feel that he is just too squishy and has no reliable way of reaching his targets other than dream eater. he also has almost no cc or are damage, so he's not good at team fights.
I started the game about 10 days ago and I'm ultra 2. The game is insanely easy if you have played mobas.

Hey I’m at 1800 master rank from mostly Gengar solo queue. He’s actually great, people just suck with him, which I’m not sure constitutes calling him low tier.
i mean if you reach the higher ranks with a 'trash' mon then atleast you get to feel more accomplished ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd say at level 10, use your three 7-day passes to make items level 30. I'd vote for float stone, rocky helmet and assault vest. The float stone and x-speed combo to travel between objectives is great.

Adding Tsareena, Sylveon and Ninetales would be the next tier of Pokemon but I think that wouldn't be "balanced" since they are actually good if you know how to play them. Weakness Policy is also pretty good but you should most def add Shell Bell, Aos Cookie and Exp share to the pool of items for sure.

I agree with eliminating all the “OP” items you chose. I think you should allow atk & sp. atk specs since stacking without score shield is risky, especially when using low-tier Pokémon. And weakness policy is only “good” because it’s used in tandem with muscle, focus, buddy, etc. I would maaaaaybe eliminate black glasses and/or energy amp, but otherwise, all other non-meta items should be in play.
It takes guts for a challenge like this
