This is the song for Jim, jimmy, Janis, and the countless others who shown brightly for just a while then succumbed to the elements. Many people thought it was for his guitar player Paul K in his earlier band Free.... but it was intended for all of them
Wow u could push me over with a Gemsbok feather. I just assumed that was always a foregone conclusion. Politics. Neither is T.Nugent - REO - Iron Maiden ......... Equals B.S.
Boz Burrell was a fantastic bass player. He played a fretless bass. He was the last of 15 bassists they listened to when they needed a bassist. Very underrated bassist.
Shooting stars burn brightly but burn out quickly. Sadly, that's the way it is for many rock stars. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Bonham, Ronnie Van Zant, Bon Scott, Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, Shannon Hoon, Andrew Wood, Amy Winehouse, and the list goes on. Then you have the ones like Keith Richards, who seem to live forever despite having consumed enough drugs and alcohol to supply a small nation for decades. 🤷🏻 Great song, though. That whole album brings back some memories.
Paul Rogers was invited to be inducted into Hall of Fame several times ,he declined the invitation, probably because the rest of Bad Co. weren't included, especially Simon Kirke the drummer,he was also with Rodgers in the band Free.He also has stated he thinks Rock and Roll doesn't need to be put in a museum.
My heart sank for you at the 3:54 mark when you started talking about making this your theme song. Just knowing how that last verse was gonna hit you... OOF! 😖
Thanks for doing this. That song came out when I was in high school and you know how us boomers love living in the past ❤ EDIT: Your future business: Shooting Star Productions 🌠 ANOTHER EDIT: Bob Segers Turn The Page was around the same time
I have always loved this song since I was little. It always resembled Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry. Both leave home and tell their mom that everything will be ok. Both play guitar and make it big.
Foreigner's first album is still my favorite Foreigner album. Maybe you ought to specify the band when making a request or he'll end up looking for a song called Starrider by Bad Company. 🤔
I knew the moment at 6:58 was coming so I was bracing for it. But must admit, your very sincere “Damn, did I jinx it?” reaction still cracked me up so hard. 😂
John Bonham was alive when this song was made Bad Company and Led Zeppelin were on the same record label and managed by Led Zeppelin’s manager Peter Grant It’s a song of a lot of musicians who succumb to some of the traps of the music industry I also believe Paul Kossoff who was a very close personal friend of the band was still alive to
That Mick Ralphs guitar tone, together with early Billy Gibbons tone, are two of my holy grails. I've been wanting those tones for decades, but have never quite got there to my satisfaction. Of course, being poor doesn't help. 🙂 Mick is a legend.
Looking forward to many more Bad Co. songs. You also have to do Paul Rodgers' band Free from before Bad Co. Their big one was All Right Now. Another of the best rock songs ever.
Paul Rogers is one of the all time top lead rock singers. Since you enjoy Bad Co. and Led Zeppelin, check out the group "The Firm". Paul Rogers lead vocals and Jimmy Page on guitar. They are not in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame because Paul Rodgers does not want to be in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame he thinks music should not be in the museum but out in the open! Anyway regardless of that this video is really funny❤❤❤ how could you not like you some bad company?❤❤❤
No it ends the same way every time ... if your looking for inspiration Id like to recommend Mac Davis .. he wrote In The Ghetto and had a hit Texas in My Rearview Mirror. A song about a kid who left home with a better ending.
A shooting star shines bright for a very short amount of time
This is the song for Jim, jimmy, Janis, and the countless others who shown brightly for just a while then succumbed to the elements. Many people thought it was for his guitar player Paul K

The 27 Club
Paul and Bad Co, NOT in the Hall of Fame. That’s a crime!
Absolutely is !!
Neither is Grand Funk Railroad. It’s definitely crime for neither one of them to be in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame.❤️✌️🌼
They're TOO good for those sellouts at the R&R HOF.

Great song, though. That whole album brings back some memories.
When this is performed live, there is a montage of Rock stars who have passed away
OOF! 😖
I felt that as well
This song is a cautionary tale of all the rock stars...Hendrix, Joplin, Moon, Bonham....He knew them all!
I think they had Jimi Hendrix in mind. John Bonham died in 1980, and Bad Co released this in 1975.
My wifes favorite band. Thanks for the reaction.
MMbxMOB: This is gonna be my theme song, it's so uplifting...
Me: LOL, nah it ain't. Just wait.
I just kept saying OH NO!! 😂
Great vid ❤
I'm a grandma and I kept thinking "oh, honey. Your about to be crushed."
@@susansabatka5318same thinking for me!
Right?! I gasped when he first said "uplifting" I mean, it couldn't have been scripted better.
Have you done Jukebox Hero by Foreigner? Similar story with a more positive outcome.
I love his optimistic view in the 1st half of this song................
I love so many Bad Company songs always have for years 😁💯💜🤟🤟🤟🎶🎶🎶
Thanks for doing this. That song came out when I was in high school and you know how us boomers love living in the past ❤

Remember, the term "shooting star" is often used to describe someone that becomes famous for only a short period of time.
A shooting star flies across the shy very rapidly and then burns out
I have always loved this song since I was little. It always resembled Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry. Both leave home and tell their mom that everything will be ok. Both play guitar and make it big.
LET'S GOOOOO!!!!
Need to hear, Starrider by Foreigner! It's a total vibe. 🔥🔥🔥
Foreigner's first album is still my favorite Foreigner album.

@@jackgilchrist thanx
Knowing the song , I was like oh no baby, going through it with you. Forever may your star shine. ☮️💜🤘💫
Try a Depeche Mode Reaction or Better yet QUEENSRYCHE PLEASE
I knew the moment at 6:58 was coming so I was bracing for it. But must admit, your very sincere “Damn, did I jinx it?” reaction still cracked me up so hard. 😂
A shooting star burns bright for a short time and then is gone...
Bad Company was the first band I fell in love with, awesome band!
Oh man, I was listening to you, and was thinking..wait for it😊
I sure would love to hear the Woodstock concert going on in heaven

Mick is a legend.
Straight shooter is one of my top 5 albums of all time.
This song makes me think of the question - is it better to burn out, or fade away?
My My Hey Hey!
It’s about the mass deaths around 1970 of rockstars. It’s Jimi Hendrix to me and always will be…
Great reaction Now you must listen to Bad Company “Burnin Sky”
Looking forward to many more Bad Co. songs. You also have to do Paul Rodgers' band Free from before Bad Co. Their big one was All Right Now. Another of the best rock songs ever.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS A ROCK STORY THAT HAS BEEN REPLAYED TO MANY TIMES
You didn't jinx it. We who grew up with this were just grinning and waiting for you to get to the end. Nice reaction. Peace.
Paul Rogers is one of the all time top lead rock singers.

"Dam did I jinx it."
😂
Nah, you didn't jinx it man. You just didn't know, thats all.
Sorry it didn't end like you wanted.
This was around the time when the 27 club gained a few new members wasn't it?
I was thinking the same thing. I was smiling ear to ear waiting for when he made the connection that it wasn't the way he thought

Oh boy, the end...
you jinx'd it :)
No it ends the same way every time ... if your looking for inspiration Id like to recommend Mac Davis .. he wrote In The Ghetto and had a hit Texas in My Rearview Mirror. A song about a kid who left home with a better ending.
Lots of rockers died this way back in the day.
If you want bass, check out Burning Sky. It is Awesome!!
you know the story of Icarus, you fly too close to the sun, and you'll end up burned up
We have lost some greats from substance abuse 😢
Burn bright fast and fade away
Leonid & Friends
Check out “Feel Like Making Love,” next!
Jimmy!
plot twist...
The 27 club
Ypu need to listen to Feel Like Making Love and Can't Get Enough Of Your Love as well
Jimi Hendrix
Ted Nugent never used Alcohol or drugs
Yeah, hear the whole thing before making it your theme song. 🥴
Yeah…… no.
The problem with shooting stars is that they burn out too fast.
