I have a trip booked to Argentina January 1st to see my partner. I've waited months because Argentina was under a strict lockdown and they only recently opened up travel to foreigners. However, with this Omicron variant I can't help but worry. I don't know about the plans of the Argentine government, but I pray things will be okay. I really want to see her, and the country.
I am crossing my fingers for you Yuriy, I really hope you’ll be able to go and am sending lots of positive energy your way!! I know how important it is to see the people we love and how frustrating it gets when our plans are compromised last minute !

You didn't have to be married. It was a process but worth it. Planning on going back there with him in April. Good luck.

Amazing video Kristina. Im from La Plata another important and beautiful city of Argentina, when you come back you need to visit this city. La Plata won a prize as "the city of the future" in the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1889. Wow... you got to know BA in November: that's a privilege. And by the end of November the Jacarandás are still in bloom (many of their flowers have already made a carpet around them after some storm though), and the tipas (Tipuana tipu) start to show their orange flowers. Hello, how are you? Let me tell you that the palace in Plaza de Mayo is called Casa Rosada and it is not where the president lives, it is his place of work, his house is in La Quinta de Olivos, north of the province of Buenos Aires.

I´m Argentine and I think foreigners can buy things at a low price in Argentina now. It´s convenient for them to visit my country. Greetings from Paraná, Entre Ríos (Argentina)
@@Kristinahouwer Thanks. I´m glad to hear you liked it. I´d like to add there are hot springs resorts you can enjoy mainly in winter in Entre Ríos. Aah I almost forgot to mention "La fiesta de disfraces" in Paraná ruclips.net/video/YHlUeeEy2sk/видео.html and the Gualeguaychú carnivalsruclips.net/video/m9k-SRIZ_Vk/видео.html ( I don´t know when these events will start again) I think they are worth being mentioned
My childhood WAS amazing! I had University professors for parents, and they bought a ramshackle 600 sf cabin in N.H. USA where I spent 5 months a year riding ponies, fishing, and building forts in the woods, hiking, and swimming in crystal clear rivers, watching bears at the dump, and ice cream on a hot day... Now that $3,000 shack is a 2,900 sf - 7 bedroom, 3 fireplace, 2 BA, 1.5 kitchen, mudroom, 3 L.R. home...and has been in our family for 55 years... Sadly, I have no children...So this is where it ends.😪
Great video, it’s not only about those places you have visited but the way you explain in details about those places makes lots difference and it was like I’m there already hahah hoping to visit February or march but not sure about coroana if it will affect my trip or let’s hope Thank you
Thank you Ajay ! What a wonderful comment to receive. I really hope you’ll be able to go - Buenos Aires has so much to offer , I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you !!
How was your experience impacted by COVID restrictions? I’m considering visiting BA in February but am having a hard time getting a sense of what might be closed/different due to the pandemic. Thank you- excellent video!
Thank you for watching ! To go there, it’s not difficult if you are vaccinated. You need to get a PCR test before you travel and show proof of vaccine and fill out a form on the government website. They might also ask you to have medical insurance for your trip that covers covid but that’s around 10$ and there are SO many companies that do it now, you can buy it online. At the border they just check your papers for 1 min and let you go if you’ve done everything correctly. Most things that I wanted to see in the city were open, apart from the Recoleta cemetery and the tours around Teatro Colon. Mask wearing is only mandatory indoors in shops / restaurants/ cafes, but not on the streets. None of the restaurants checked my vaccine certificate like they do in France for example. Hopefully nothing changes by the time you want to go !
I liked the video but honestly, I'm a little disappointed you didn't show some important places. To name a few, Tigre, Chinatown, the Japanese Garden (biggest Japanese garden outside of Japan), Palermo Soho+Hollywood (huge gastronomic area), and of Puerto Madero you only showed a little of the docks, but you didn't go to the back where there is a natural reserve and also there are huge parks and overall it's a really beautiful area. You also didn't show public transportation, like the subway, and specially the beautiful grand stations in Retiro and Constitución. And finally there are a lot of palaces here, they are extremely beautiful and I'd have loved if you showed a few of them. I do appreciate you showing El zanjón, I live here and didn't even know about that! Overall a really good video and I don't want to sound mean, I know it's a huge task to make a video like this and I'm happy you showed this to the world, it's just for me it falls short of the title of being a complete guide of the city
Thank you ! Next time I will be sure to spend more than 3 days in BA to cover the other places you mentioned too (which I obviously know of , but didn’t have the physical time to visit ). I tried going into the Japanese garden but there were too many people and a huge line and with covid it wasn’t the smart thing to do - and public transport for a single female new to the city travelling alone during 5 protests going on at the same time surrounding the center wasn’t an option either. Have a fab day !!
@@Kristinahouwer Oh, you only stayed 3 days? Never mind, that's a lot of places you showed for 3 days! Public transportation is quite safe here, but there can be some pick pocketing in rush hours in the subway or train (but it's not common, it happened to me once in 5 years of using the subway everyday to college). Buses are 99.99% safe though. Always take care but, as long as you stay in safer areas there's nothing to worry. Now, if you ever EVER go outside the city and into the suburbs that's a whole other thing. There's a lot more crime in the suburbs (except for the north in the zones next to the river), so never go alone without asking to locals if that neighborhood is safe. The south of the city is also pretty dangerous too, even La Boca which is touristy at night is a whole other thing. In reality you just have to learn about where you can go and where you can't. But yeah, stay safe
Thank you ! I would love to travel around Argentina more next time and visit Mendoza , the salt plains and Humahuaca, Iguazu and some areas of Patagonia I haven’t been to yet !
Matilda! I remember this...She entered the U.S. mainstream in the 1970s..and was around for a short time >10 years...about the time of Gumby, Dagmar, and Lil Abbott... Never knew she was conceived by an Argentine! Cool...
You’re absolutely amazing Kristina !! Your knowledge and content of this beautiful city is so inspiring !! I’m planning to go there during my spring break in April !! Just a quick question ?? What do you need to go there other then being Vaccinated and Negative Covid test ??!! Thanks for your time 👍👌🤝😎
Thank you Henry ! I just needed to fill out a form on the government website but if I’m honest no one checked that at the airport anyway. Hope you have a wonderful time !
Ojalá disfrutes tu estadía en mi país! Y que el clima sea agradable durante tu viaje. No vivo en Buenos Aires, no sé cómo es el otoño en esa parte del país, pero espero que seas bendecido y tu viaje sea muy placentero.
You are a very beautiful woman and your video of Buenos Aires is awesome. Be aware that Buenos Aires is almost infinite, so what normal tourists see its just a part. Buenos Aires probably has the BEST pizza in the world and its a paradise for Meat lovers, not me anymore. So thank you for your beautiful video.
@@lindsaym7659 yes when you fill out the government form they ask for travel insurance that covers covid , it’s very easy to find online for under 20$ as there are so many companies and websites that offer it now.
I’m so sad to hear that they traumatized you making you think that robberies are common. Unfortunately Argentinian are a little but exaggerated about safety. When compared to Detroit, Los Angeles or Chicago, Buenos Aires is so safe. The total number of crime related deaths (including those involving the police) in all the Buenos Aires province was just 134 cases / year. I’m Chicago is 900, in Detroit few years ago it was over 1,000 but now for first time ever is below Chicago. The rest of the documentary it was very nice but I don’t share it with people because of the crime comments, I don’t want people to get scared. Greetings from Thailand (although I’m spending 2 days in Singapore now, 😂):
I felt super safe there so I get what you are saying ! Thanks for watching ! I love Singapore by the way, it’s such a cool place and I hope to go back soon

I really enjoyed watching this ,but not the pro cattle farming segment part !! Deforestation & pollution by cattle ranches are serious issues all over the world !! And cruelties to animals like downed animals ,dairy farms ( they separate calves from their mothers at birth & male calves being sent to slaughterhouses immediately ) are very disturbing. 💜🥁🐉🎤💞
Hi , I’m a huge activist for animal welfare and this farm doesn’t separate cattle from calves at birth and takes fantastic care of their free roaming animals and focuses primarily on soy and wheat. Thanks for watching !

Great info
Very good 👍
thank you!
NICE VIDEO. BUENOS AIRES IS A BEAUTYFUL CITY. GREETING FROM MENDOZA, MIDDLE-WEST OF ARGENTINA.
Thank you ! I would love to travel around Argentina more next time and visit Mendoza , the salt plains and Humahuaca, Iguazu and some areas of Patagonia I haven’t been to yet !
@@Kristinahouwer WELCOME EVER.
Me, an argentinian who lives in Buenos Aires "So, that's how La Boca looks like..."
Ahahaha this made me laugh ! Thanks for watching my video !
@@Kristinahouwer Got it !! Great to know 👍
Ojalá disfrutes tu estadía en mi país!
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for watching my video , I appreciate it !!
Can I ask you about mark wearing? Is it mandatory outside? In business etc..?
Mask wearing in mandatory inside public places (like cafes, restaurants, shops) but not outside on the street.
Beautiful vlog dear. ..nd you have beautiful voice as well. ...you look Spanish. ..am I right
Ya me suscribí. Te luciste con tu vídeo, fue maravilloso. Te quería preguntar a qué te dedicabas? Y si de verdad vas a venir nuevamente? y pronto?

Recorre otras ciudades y provincias, Argentina es muy grande
Si, la próxima vez me gusteria!
Is Argentina fully open for tourism??
Yes , if you’re vaccinated it is - you don’t have to quarantine , just get a PCR before arriving and fill out a government form found on their website
@@Kristinahouwer thanks! I have heard proof of travel insurance is needed as well- have you found this to be true?
@@lindsaym7659 yes when you fill out the government form they ask for travel insurance that covers covid , it’s very easy to find online for under 20$ as there are so many companies and websites that offer it now.
I would love visit the mansion and the farm, what is the name? Thanks.
hi, the farm is private but the mansion next to it can be visited and they even have hotel rooms, it's called Santa Candida! :)

Waiting you here in Brasil
Thank you! Hopefully next time I can explore more countries in this fantastic continent
VIVA ARGENTINAAA
I grew up with Mafalda but I think Diego Maradona is more famous, especially in Boca, what is also home to Boca Juniors, the Futbol club.
Yes I mention both in my vlog but personally I prefer mafalda as I have a more personal connection to her character and learnt Spanish that way. Thanks for watching ! 😍
I want to go.. and I'm argentine hahah

Hi
Hi !
La Boca..Bombonera..Maradona..Argentina..May be the most beautiful places of the world💯💯
Yes !!
comienza diciendo es mi primera vez en este continente estoy seguro que piensa que norte america es otro continente , y no europa del norte no es otro continente distinto al sur lo mismo en america ,
I really enjoyed watching this ,but not the pro cattle farming segment part !!
Thanks for watching !
i was born in corrientes province but i lived in BA 10 years, i love BA, very nice video.
Thanks so much for watching , I appreciate your comment. Argentina is one of my favourite places in the world 💕
