As a game its a 5/10 but as a piece of Fairly Odd Parents interactive media its a 8/10. The references are on point. Stages feel similar to episodes. The voice actors put in a similar effort level to the show. Everything feels cohesive

What I like about games like this, is you can tell everything that’s there to offer, and if you want just a nice relaxing nostalgic platformer, it’s a nice time still today. Also I have memories of being sick and staying home playing this game. Good times, I think I was 5 or 6.

I feel like this was a great "intro to gaming" video game. It's clever but simple. It has different challenges that get harder but not impossible. And it's played at a pace that makes it easy for kids to get a basic understanding of the controls used in most rpgs without it being too easy or too hard. I think that's what this game was really meant for. It wasn't created for experienced gamers, but rather as an introduction of sorts for children. I know I loved this game and Shadow Showdown as a kid, and it definitely got me more interested in games similar to it. Now I play RDR2 and GTA V, and I owe a lot of that enjoyment to early, child friendly rpgs like Breakin' Da Rules. I know this game is outdated and boring to most adults, but it will always hold a special place in my memory

The varied and interesting levels with their own gimmics, the ongoing mystery, and how you can use your wishes all throughout the levels they appear in. Along with permanent powerups. This was honestly my favorite, definitive experience with the Fairly OddParents. The controls were bad and the animation was certainly weak, but I had a lot of fun. It was cool to see lots of different levels, several of them based on TV episodes without directly adapting them.
And the game’s lack of NPC’s and minimalist score actually made the game feel scarier than it was. You’re really just sort of on your own even with Cosmo and Wanda popping up frequently, and it’s easy to ignore them since they don’t contribute much besides jokes. The camping level was pretty eerie especially thanks to the stealth sections and the brainwashed girls hunting you down; the quiet Crimson Chin hub level with nothing but the gusty wind; the monster in the bathtub.
The two scariest things in the game, well, the first one, was Tootie in her level. If you heard her squeaking, you RUN.
The second, and scariest thing? The stealth section where you have to evade Crocker. I never thought I’d fear Crocker until I played this, and this is again where the deadly silence of the game takes great effect. His later section where he keeps popping out of places to find you was also scary because of how eagerly he broke out of his hiding places.
This was one of my very first PS2 video games and I’ll always cherish it.

Regardless i recall enjoying this game even though I didn’t finish it more than once. My favorite mission is the one where we had to escape tootie in dog form in that big ass shopping center

I've didn't even know this game existed until a few years ago, as it was never released outside of North America. Which is particularly weird, since *Blitz Games* was a UK company.
The sequel, _Shadow Showdown_ is a much better game overall. I recommend it - chiefly because it fixes a lot of issues you mentioned: The gameplay is more interesting (I think so, anyway), the humour and animations are better, and the voice audio is miraculously clear and doesn't sound like it was record by a water-damaged mic in a shoebox.
Also, you're not the only one to notice the weird sound compression. *Blitz Games* had a habit of technical issue with their voice audio in a lot of their early 2000s era games. _Taz Wanted_ not only has the compression issue, but it also has lines overlap and cut off in awkward ways. Good game, otherwise; I'd recommend that, too.

I remember I played this game a lot when I was kid. I’ve kind of been curious to go back to see if it holds up…but I feel like I already know the answer to that questionz

So... there's a reason why the game was only ever released in the United States and Shadow Showdown was released in Europe and Australia as well.
Nelvana got the consumer product rights to the series outside the United States in addition to distributing the first five seasons. They decided not to license this game in the United States, so this prevents a release anywhere else, which THQ Nordic has said when they signed a deal with Nickelodeon in 2018 for possible re-releases of the ex-THQ Nickelodeon titles that if this title was ever re-released, remade, or anything like that, it would be a strict US only release, so the licensing issues resolving Nelvana still hold on to this time. Shadow Showdown would be fine, considering the overseas release was licensed and Nelvana replaced all Nickelodeon logos with theirs, so the licensing issues with that aren't major.
There was some loophole with the Nicktoons Unite titles, but other than that Nelvana is still the reason why the characters from the show haven't made it to newer titles like Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

So I had this game, and I was like "man this doesn't look like what I played at all"
APPARENTLY, they released The same named game on PC as well, which looked and played COMPLETELY different. Only a Early 00s game could do that sort of Tom foolery, I would've loved this version more, because I never quite finished the PC version. It was hard
