It’s not like the track infrastructure isn’t there, as a freight service runs from Maryborough. There was a pricey report delivered last year that told us what we all knew, that Mildura needs a passenger rail service returned in tandem with air and coach services.
I actually came back from Bendigo today on the Swan Hill train which I quite enjoy as I've done the Mildura trip many times but mainly the 6:08 service from Southern Cross which arrives In Mildura after midnight, Just a question on the day you took this trip were there many on the bus from Mildura I'm In Ouyen & we have been trying to get our passenger rail returned for years. Peter Walsh who is the Nationals MP for Murray Plains claims that most people who use the Swan Hill train come from Mildura In all my years of travelling on that train it's never been packed, only between Melbourne & Bendigo In the evenings. The Swan Hill & Mildura trains could operate happily together like they did back In the 80s & early 90s before the Vinelander was axed.
The coach was full of people some tried to get on but the only just did and then it was full. The Train from Swan Hill was half to 3/4 full but not sure weather they were on the bus or not
@@victoriantransportvideos Once when I went on the late night bus from Mildura to Melbourne they actually had to use 2 busses that's how many people were going down to Melbourne, It would be good If they had a connecting bus from Ouyen to Swan Hill wouldn't mind using the bus then.
@@mikevale3620 Not a bad service either, I would often take that trip down to Murrayville from Ouyen when I was working at Radio 3MBR-FM would be good If that service connected to the train at Swan Hill.
It's utterly ridiculous a major regional centre like Mildura does not have a passenger train service 😩

You can thank Jeff Kennet.
It’s because the line between Ararat and Mildura was standardised
Exactly & sadly It won't return thanks to the stuff up of the Murray Basin Rail Project.
It's a big loss. Very inconvenient.
that was a busy pick up at pyramid hill - when I have done this trip never had more than one waiting

Hi does anybody know if there is a train or coach service from Sydney to Mildura?
There would most likely be a Transport NSW coach to Albury then to Sydney or similar.
Maybe check google maps
XPT Train from Sydney to Cootamundra then Trainlink bus to Mildura.
Nice
Does the train wait for coach to arrive? What if coach delayed?
It's a guaranteed connection.
I believe so
Ive never seen the train in Kerang wait for the coach to arrive. But I’d say so.
@@jaxsonneil1308 the connection is at Swan Hill not Kerang
@@Merri-bekRailfanno there’s a connection at Kerang. I would know since I’ve lived in Kerang my whole life
what an joke there should be two trackes all the way to mildura
