Always enjoy my trips aboard "The Overland", which is Australia's most underrated passenger service.

Done the Overland early July this year. Like to do many more trips as possible on the Overland red premium service.

Great video, well done. I will be doing Adelaide to Melbourne in late January, really looking forward to it. Already done the Indian Pacific, just leaves The Ghan to go.

I did this train back in 2004 from melb to Adelaide. We went to Adelaide red seater but on the way back we got up graded to first class. This is when we did our trip to Perth
We did this train trip back in 2006 when we had a holiday in Adelaide. One of the best trains to travel on..a great way to see parts of country Vic and SA I had never been to.

W video bro. Seems like the service on the train was pretty bad like how do you run out of meals just put a meal on for every person on the train

What time roughly did you get when they ran out of meals?

I went on the Overland train from Melbourne to Adelaide in May 2023. I liked it but you need to understand and overcome its issues to really love it. The issues are 1) no onboard wi-fi and 2) no USB chargers for passengers. To get past this use a device with a real SIM card to get wi-fi and charge a 20000 mAh power bank to 100% before travelling. I played 135 songs of an i512GB Phone 12 Pro Max with no issues.

It’s a good train apart from those factors at least

lack of USB is irrelevant - 240V AC available in dining car. Charge power bank then phone from that - train power might not be clean.

I’d love to see someone take the overland from Adelaide to Ararat then transfer to the vline via Ballarat. During weekdays this will save time and money. The portion between Ararat and Ballarat is by coach though

@@tcraigh1 you can book the overland on v/lines site for the Victorian daily cap price between Melbourne and Nhill.
That’s what I actually did in this video
