So congress was meeting yesterday to find him in contempt of congress. So he decides to show up at his contempt of court hearing maybe be expected to be allowed to talk on his terms. @@gerrydt57 What's interesting about this framing is that congressional pay raises are on a set schedule that's automatic, been that way for at least the last 20 years, offhand. When people whine that 'Congress wants a raise' like that's something they have to request, they show the world that they don't know how any of this works. The reality is, a majority have to vote on a bill to REFUSE an automatic pay rate increase ... to NOT get their raises. Something the Democrats did in 2019 when they were in charge of the House, last time I remember it happening. But that had been going on for 10 years at that point, across times of both parties being in charge. Overall they've taken way less pay raises vs. what they were entitled to, ever since the financial meltdown of 2008-09.

As an American that dropped out of college, I can point out every state and be 100% correct on their capitals and abbreviations. Yes our education system needs work, but most of us are good. Yet…I don’t fully grasp why the Iowa caucus is so important. Why Iowa? Google, here I come.
