Really sad but wonderfully made, I can see there were references used but I love the sense of urgency in the poses, the difference between eyes though there's obviously a long way to go til they look more realistic. I bet your art looks amazing now!
They were realistic if you were talking about that oval shape the horses eyes are supposed to look like that I've seen horses plenty of times to say there not round Unless you ment the humans eyes than yes still quit away to go
@@PinkAnxmal I think so too the style is so simple but you still see the emotions so well. And you're right there's NOTHING wrong with using a reference. I draw realistic animals and without a reference it's almost impossible to do so

I thought at the end and came up with this. Once a witch met a pure white horse, the horse did not trust the witch so the witch punishes the horse by making it an ugly disgraceful kelpie. The Kelpie outsmarted the spell being able to turn back to it's beautiful form. But the cost was making the kelpie a flesh eating monster. The witch now the Kelpie's owner would make an enemy... The demon, the demon sees that a horse his in great depression with it's owner gone. Now the demon helps the horse (like in animation) and takes the horse as his horse. Soon flying to the destination to destroy the witch. BOOM MY BACK STORY OF THIS ANIMATION BOOM!
I have seen a lot of videos about the kelpie, but this one is definitely my #1 favorite! This legend is really sad though. You did amazing job on the art work! My favorite picture is of the horse with wings.

Interesting premise using the horse’ perspective of a Kelli attack. I called the demon making the horse his steed at the end. Storytellers usually refer to demon deals with only humans and moral is don’t make deals with dire consequences, etc. but for an animal to make a deal certainly gives it a new twist. If a dog made such a deal it would become a hell hound. A bird might become a dragon or roc. Hmmm, what about mice, cats, or rabbits? How would this work for them besides human/animal hybrid spirits?
So, first of all: this video is pure, master creativity. And secondly, here is my theory: The devil was the man who offered the power for the horse, and the horse agreed with the devil that if he gives him power to kill the kelpie and save his owner, than the horse will become his animal/servant. And since the devil knew that there is no way for a pure creature like a horse to make a deal with him or become his servant on basic, the devil waited for the horse and the girl to meet with the kelpie; he waited for the two of them to meet with the catastrophy, so the horse would want to make a deal with him.
I feel like there's a bit of a deeper meaning to this or something But like, what if while Champion was grieving the loss of his rider but ended up dying of heartbreak and 2:50 is when he like, first dies and he "wakes up" from the nightmare and is approached by the demon and such to "get revenge" on the Kelpie but in reality it's all just in his dying thoughts or something and at 6:08 is when he gets taken to the underworld and such idk if that made sense
By the Fiction Gods, this is both creepy and a sucker-punch to the feels, poor Champion 😢😢😢 I've heard the Kelpie myth so many times where it claims an unfortunate victim but never has this scenario come up: that the Kelpie takes a human and leaves its loving horse behind. Poor Champion ... he set her free from the Kelpie but he'll almost certainly never see her again 😭😭😭 Very beautiful and very sad work 🐴🐴🐴
You might like the very few legends of the benevolence of the Kelpie then. One being the story of Dianaimh and Each'Usgie. The other, unfortuneately I don't know the title, being the love story of a farmer and the Kelpie that worked for her for a year.

Kelpies are one of my fav legands! But the horse with fins thats more of a hippocampus isn't it? Kelpies still retain horse like features as far as I know,but have fangs and slited eyes
well we all know it was the purpose of the kelpie to drown and eat you, and I, for one, believe that it should carry on with its nature even though I’m deathly afraid of it.
