Excellent storytelling. The idea that Kelpies can take the shape of people they have previously drowned appears particulary creative to me. Or at least that's what the story seems to suggest.
I remember reading a comic about two boys in scotland that took a ride on a kelpie. Long story short, one of them drowned and the other cut his arm off to get away. The one that survived buolds his house by the pond to prevent others from drowning.
Prehistoricpawprint I think it was just his hand, not his entire arm. He had only been touching the kelpie when the other got on. Once it had its victim, it took on its highly adhesive properties and ran for the water. Only by cutting off the affixed hand could the boy escape.
Steve Irwin: "Have a go at this ladies and gentlemen! This right here is a NOPE horse! You can tell by the black NOPEness that covers its back and by all the NOPE'ing feelings makes you feel. Best keep your distance from this guys. Nature can be scarry"

When Our mom was a little girl, who's dad was second generation Irish living in the foothills of Appalachia, she said one night she saw light moving down the mountain and floating around the house of one of their neighbors and a sound like a woman screaming could be heard. She told her dad and he quickly ran to the windows and shut the blinds and turned the lights off in the house without really an explanation and made her go to bed early that night. Well, the next day, it turns out that the neighbor's baby had died that night in it's sleep. I'm not saying my mom saw a Banshee or anything like that lol She was a well known prankster who liked to tell us ghost stories, me and my brother inherited that from her. I just always liked that story and thought it was kind of creepy.

Another part of the Kelpie legend I've heard is that you don't want to ride a black horse near where a Kelpie lives it could appear and try to lure you and your horse into the water.
the each-uisge that you briefly mentioned is definitely more vicious. It leaves the water and looks for people to kill then drags them into the sea where they are devoured

This is some truly immersive story telling. It must be the tone! Being a horse owner and mythology lover, Kelpies have always captivated me. The Kelpie is viewed as a deceitful, opportunistic, man eater. We clearly revere the fish that we hunt and eat. We do so in our paintings, in photographs, and in how we hone our skills. I wonder if the things in the water view us the way we view Kelpie? Maybe we should practice more ethical fishing like the boy in the story? On the flip side of the coin, we have stories of great black horses pulling men out of the water and thus saving their life. Walter Farley's "The Black Stallion" for instance. That story was partly inspired by the adventures of Alexander the Great and his horse Bucephalus (who was said to be tricked by Apollo). Which brings another interesting point. In the majority of mythology, we find equines to be mostly benevolent creatures. As shown here with the unicorn contrast. Kelpie is one of the only horse of myth (that I know of) that brandishes a malevolent nature. What a fascinating creature and so deserving of such great story telling. You are a true bard Sir. @Mythology & Fiction Explained I wouldn't consider the Kelpie to be categorized as a "Creepypasta" creature but, rather, it seems to be a close resemblance of a Hippocampus but maybe of a different breed perhaps cause they share some what or not of a relation due to their appearance and where they live. About 10:45 This is why people die in horror films
I loved hearing this story
thank you for sharing; vice good narration of this creepy story.
Loved this one! Fvorite video of yours so far :-)
He comes back 5 years later with a lot of blessed knifes and a underwater breathing set "you and I have unfinished business "
He and his crew of mercenary kelpie hunters goes deep into the water and ends up getting torn to pieces by the Kelpie, who has imitated a college student. It's the start of the story called "Blood Lake Massacre" (copyrighted 2018). ;) :P
Wow, this reads like a Syfy/Asylum film script... XD
The boy that rode the horse saw 4 skulls, the 3 skulls were from the three little girls and another one was from the Man on the tree .0. *mind explodes*
BebbaDoe 😲 that makes...so much sense
The only thing I associate with Kelpie is with Ciri's horse from the Witcher saga.
Toxin Symbiont lol rip
Toxin Symbiont I had never heard about The Kelpie untill now, but I find the story very interesting and very intriguing, I like it ☺
That's a real shame. I've known about Kelpies for a long time, and loved then reading the Witcher books + playing the games, and seeing Ciri chose to name her horse after these mysterious creatures. Very cool.
May not seem terrifying to some of you all, but thats terrifying why would you keep going back! Thats a death sentence its a no no!!!
Curiosity is stronger than fear
Well i think u forgot that the kelpie is some say "mind controlling" whenever u hear its noise u can't pull away unless ur "lucky."
Just discovered your channel and can't stop watching your videos. Hooked!
Will you cover lovecraftian folklore also?
I hope to start exploring the Cthulhu mythos and HP lovecraft's work in the next few weeks.
Mythology & Fiction Explained sweet
good storytelling, if you do not do this for a living-to bad! you have an excellent voice for creepypastas!!
Your narration pace is so slow that it builds up the suspense and its so scary..
Every horror movie ever
"oh it almost drowned me"
"let me just swim over to it again"
He done went to another dimension..
at the end of they story my heart broke for the young child, who was most likely going to be the next victim.
Do more scary monster stories please! I keep checking back to see if you’ve done any more
You tell the stories beautifully thank you so much I love it 🌹
Second
Yes, i feel satisfied
A creepypasta... nice. I think your voice should be lower when you read creepypastas

CodeKillerz, I am sorry then. You are the true First!
If he reads it in a lower voice then he'll probably just sound silly
