As an older male GP (from Norway) this is vert helpfull. Newer got any formalised teaching more than a few lectures 25 years ago!!
Had a 40 yr woman with disabeling pain in vagina for years. Gyno and Urologist: nothing wrong. I gave her DHEA passaries, after 2 weeks pain were gone. She takes it regulary, and this have worked for a year. If she pauses pessaries for some weeks, pain returns.
I would have known nothing about this without your videos on RUclips. Now I see menopause related problems 10-20 times a week in my practice, which I couldn’t relate 1 yr ago. Thank you so much for your work.

I'm living in Canada and have struggled for 2 years to find doctors who support HRT. I have just met with an older male OBGYN who was not only knowledgeable about current recommendations for HRT, he has prescribed me a low dose of Testosterone, increased my level of Estradiol (that I'd been taking for 1 1/2 years with very little effectiveness), prescribed my Progesterone, and accepted me as a new patient. I am beyond grateful. I thank you Dr. Newson as I have been watching anything and everything you've produced, and was able to present as knowledgeable and confident with my questions and requests. Yes, please continue with this format for sharing current medical knowledge regarding HRT.

Did you know there are 3 important downstream hormones that are made from Testosterone in the cells of the human body.
    1] Testosterone >>Nandrolone
    2] Testosterone >>DHT
    3] Testosterone >> Estradiol
Unfortunately Estradiol can not be back converted to testosterone, DHT or nandrolone.
Precursor Hormones to their other downstream hormones are very important for the well functioning of the downstream hormones in the human body.
Estradiol can only be converted to estrone or estriol ( does not convert to estriol well) Without testosterone; estradiol does not do all the things it could do without enough testosterone around.

I had low sexual libido, which was bad enough, but when my life libido became unbearable (really truly suffering with energy, motivation, tremendous apathy), I watched your videos and others where Testosterone was suggested. My GP (in NL) was reluctant but after she agreed to check my blood to find my T was extremely low. I have been on it now for 3 mos and feel much, much better. Dose adjustment was initially difficult but has leveled out now. These videos helped me so much. Thank you Dr. Louise.

I found this way of listening to your podcast answering questions really helpful . You may have touched on items I already am aware of which just helps cement the information. However there were also many questions I was going to ask in my 4 month review, but will now be able to get more from my appointment . Thank you so much 🙂

Thank you Dr Newson for all your efforts and information you provide.
I am on HRT for over a month and as you recommended on ( patches and pills).
It does make huge difference at a phycological level ( more positive, better self esteem , more empathetic) but the best of all, massive reduction in joints pain and migraines.
There is a glow observed by those who know me.
I have not tried testosterone as I am by nature a bit anxious, however I will be considering.
Your videos are very well structured, to the point and helpful. 🤗

Hello Dr Newson. I have got so much education from your videos on testosterone. I am 58, on the autistic spectrum, I've been on HRT since 2014, oestrogen and progesterone, and always felt something was missing. I always felt more anxious and put it down to other things. I got despondent with the thought of going to my GP. I posted a question on someone else's thread on a web community asking if it made you hairy and got a deep voice. I am sure I questioned it again, but forget where. You said you felt "drugged" in perimenopause and that resonated with me so much. My increased anxiety felt systemic. Lately I have been feeling less and less "libido" in the broader sense of the word, which you put so eloquently. When you said it's the missing piece of the puzzle, that also really hit the nail on the head for me. You articulate things that I have not been able to articulate, that pertain so deeply to my life. Thank you for educating us on the NHS blood tests. I am going for one on Friday, and, I, too, find it sad that this joyous and energetic part of women is taken away. I am on the autistic spectrum, which also has a pervasive effect on my life, especially being late diagnosed at 54, and wondered, would you consider doing a video on autism and menopause in the future? Thank you. 🙏

Same for a years long side hip tendinopathy no one could seem to cure. I apply the gel directly there. A male friend send it to me...

Excellent informative podcast answering many questions that most GPs are ignorant of or not prepared to find evidence based answers to. Here in Australia the pharmaceutical industry & doctors are frequently down on bi identical hormone creams. In WA we have a progressive manufacturer & compounding chemists who supply reliable products. Doctors however are mostly not prepared to prescribe them.😒

I find the 2 weeks that I’m off progesterone horrible. I know that’s odd, because many women find it hard to tolerate, so I’ve heard. Why might this be, and does anybody else experience this? My mood is much better on progesterone, and I wish I could take it constantly. I started testosterone at the same time as hrt about a month ago, and I’m yet to see any big improvements, although I have noticed my hair has stopped falling out in handfuls!
