He needs his own show on tv. It would be great if kids and especially adults learned more about fake stuff. It annoys me to see fake videos get shared around millions of time by uninformed people. He has a perfect persona to keep kids attention and information that gets adults hooked. He's a perfect mix.

I stumbled upon Captain D’s work randomly when I saw his work on Reddit, and was blown away by his content. I went down the rabbit hole, and devoured all his content marathoning it. Not only that, I’ve found myself re-watching his work over and over. It’s the ultimate comfort food.
And like everyone else, I was shocked at his subs - considering his content is so far above and beyond anything currently on RUclips. Like the production itself , is absolutely amazing . His work deserves so much more then what it gets.
So seeing him on this podcast, makes me so damn happy. I want D to become successful. The amount of time and work he puts into this stuff, deserves to be properly funded and supported. So happy that Ethan and Hila are fans of him.
As a video editor, I must say Captain Disillusion is a cinematographic genius - and anyone looking to learn how to create videographic content on YT has to watch his channel.

I never thought I'd see Alan aka Captain Disillusion on H3H3. This made me so happy. I hope this helps him finally get the fame he truly deserves. He might not be the hero everyone knows but he's the hero we all need

I totally believe they have the power to do that but not the motive. His videos are good for their brand. He popped up in my recomendations, is how i learned about him. Idk why he is not more highly watched. Seems weird to me too.

Been a fan of the Captain for years. So cool to see him on the podcast given his relatively small following (though he's definitely gotten a lot more popular than even a short while ago). I'm sure he'll get a nice popularity bump from this, props to Ethan and Hila for their routinely awesome guests.

I'm not sure if you know, but he's been on RUclips since the beginning, for 10 years he's been uploading original and amazing content. He deserves far more than 500k. Which is half of 1M, not "just shy of". I know he will grow even more and I'm happy for him. I see that as "underrated."

Love Captain Disillusion. It's almost a meme now to say how under appreciated he is, even though it's the truth. I really don't get how he doesn't have more subscribers, but one video a month is not helping.
kemosabe19 Haha that's the main issue though, RUclips promotes quantity over quality unfortunately. And people want to watch a new video once or twice week, everyday if possible lol which is why some vloggers do so well, constantly spewing out content whether it's good or not.
I agree. I hope being on H3 will boost his viewership and I hope Ethan really does help him. I’m sure having someone help him edit on his par will help him bring out more videos and then him skyrocket. We need to Cap D!

kemosabe19 Remember, Alan is the sole writer, actor (most of the time), editor, animator, and makeup artist for Captain Disillusion. It is a miracle that these videos come out at all and that the Captain's hair is still jet black.

Probably, at so many of his videos there are people in the comments wondering why they didn't know of him earlier. I only know about him because some guy left a link in a comment on a Facebook post. It was somewhat relevant to topic and basically said "best RUclipsr" so of course I had to check it out.
Criminally underated is an understatement. One of the few true skeptics on RUclips who stuck to his principles of asking questions AND finding answers.
This is officially the 1 millionth comment to say "Capt. D needs more subs. I'm glad people are starting to notice him."

I went from not knowing what Captain Disillusioned to binge watching all of his videos in one night. And this background on how he developed his frame of mind and thought process really improved his videos effect on me.
Ethan has really improved his interview skills. He was able to get into really deep questions while keeping it a casual, listenable, conversation.

I first encountered the word 'meme' nearly 15 years ago in a book I owned called "The Lucifer Principle". I never thought it would ever become something I wouldn't have to explain to other people. It explains it to be like the gene of a concept or idea, which infects minds and multiples/procreates by being so novel and interesting that it winds up being conveyed from one mind to another. Memes that have altered the course of history could be considered be scientific theories or discoveries, political ideologies, or just pop culture phrases and ideas. "Just say no"

Great interview, this guy is spot on. Studied film production at university here in Australia. Didn't get taught much in class - learned everything about editing and vfx online - but met the peeps that I still work with today, 5 years later.
Captain D definitely deserves his own TV show! He is just amazing.
