Two unpopular opinions: 1) You/everyone should go out and discover more watches. Armin Strom, Moritz Grossman, Czapek, Parmigiani Fleurier just to name a few. and 2) No one should ever and I mean ever consider value retention when purchasing a watch. I get people do, and it is dumb. Luxury purchases are like gambling, the moment the money hits the table consider it gone. If you ever think you'll need the money later, then you CANNOT afford that watch. Plus it prevents you from fully enjoying the hobby.
I agree 100%! The value is only as good as you finding someone who will pay for it. There are tons of watches for sale of all brands and models.

Always buy a watch as if you're going to keep it forever. If you don't, if you fall out of love, fine. But you cannot predict the value at that time, so don't try to do it now
I disagree on both counts. Why shouldn’t people consider value retention? Everyone has different budgets and situations, people seem to always place their budget/situation on others when making these sort of statements.
There are thousands of good watches out there, some will hold their value and some won’t, if you buy a watch that holds its value (or at a low enough price that it will) you can try the watch for a year and see if you like it, before selling/trading it for something else.

I purchased the exact same watch after hitting a goal in July 2021. After having it for a bit over a year, I just love it...the colour, how it exudes elegance, that I can fidget with it, and how it is understated. I played with the watch for about half and hour at the boutique before I pulled the trigger. The owner even let me take it outside to see the colour in daylight!

You need to check how to click in a Reverso. It should be turned half way and slid in from the side. Pushing it down from the top will wear the front of the watch case in time.

Congratulations Ridah for reaching 100k soon. I still remember the first video which seems a long time ago now. Best way to reach a milestone is to purchase a watch (of course I am going to say that as a collector) and you have made a beautiful acquisition. The red is so beautiful and its probably the one i would have picked in the mono range. JLC has always been in my opinion a collectors watch. I am a big fan of their models and have a couple including a Reverso duoface and I sure you will love this piece and enjoy wearing it. Watches to me is like art, I don't always look at my watches to tell the time. It's like acquiring art that you appreciate on the wrist. The Reverso is iconic and made by artisans of their trade. This now 90-year-old Reverso collection definitely deserves to be called iconic, the monoface is not the choice for most but I like it over the Duoface. A Reverso is definitely on my shopping list. I would have never considered the red dial, but you're right. It may be the most stylish option and it works with t-shirt and jeans as well as black tie.

Well the mono with the solid SS reverse is the classic. It was designed to prevent damage to the watch itself playing polo so the duo face would not be in line with that.
True, although you are giving up a dial option but nonetheless this is partially why i picked it. I said at the end of the video the monoface is true to its roots :)

I have the green one… just beware that since it’s a highly polished case it’s a super scratch magnet. Though I enjoy my scratches in good health :)

Put it on the brown fagliano strap and watch it totally change. Great video - I got one of the first 10 of these. It's my favorite watch. Vacheron and lange can't hold JLC jock strap IMO.

I got the medium duoface a couple of years back and previously had a classique. there’s something about Reversos, I have worn them in the company of people with vastly more expensive or exclusive watches and never felt any inferiority/lacking. Not that anyone should feel that way down to a watch but my point is that they hold their own in a way, due to their class and style, that means you always know you have something special. You can have a Rolex but there’s always ‘one up’- a rarer or more expensive watch and so much of owning/wearing a Rolex is connected with that oneupmanship (whether we want it or not), there’s always something better but these are classic enough that they stand in their own.
Not sure i articulated that as I intended but hopefully you/others know what I mean!

The problem with the Colored Dial Reversos small seconds there a bit to large, Why couldn’t JLC make the colored dial Reversos as my 41mm x 24mm Reverso? Are you listening JLC?

I prefer the medium size mono face because it's closer to the original from the 30s. That's why i bought one.
Man, talking about thinnest watch - green Polaris is not the thinnest piece in the line. Is it manageble thickness? 13 mm? Considering one for myself - so trying to decide between no date blue which is 11 mm and the green or blue date version. Please share your thoughts 🙈

The green on the boutique edition is not in your face green and can easily be matched to so many strap options, looks, will go along way but its green! The blue is nice too, however, common. For me personally, i find them both attractive, if you've got other pieces in the collection i would go with whats unusual, green is the choice then, if not, and thought for a daily, the blue is probably an easier color to pair! Yes, sure. I'm gravitating towards the green "Jumanji" dial definitely. The only thing that worries me here and I have some doubts about is the thickness of 13+mm) Is it manageble? Or there's a feeling like " I wish this damn thing were a bit thinner"))? Should I even consider the no-date blue at all or it's just no-go and dial and uniqueness overcome the thickness question?🙈

You can definitely say that VC is at a similarly high level as JLC. But A.L&S doesn't come close to the quality of JLC. If you look at the movements from A:L&S, which often look more interesting than the dial, in the long term they have neither the quality nor accuracy of a JLC. Just look at the Reverso chronograph. A.L&S could certainly build this too, but it would be 10x more expensive and definitely not better.

The reverso underlines the taste of a mature watch connaisseur. It flies so wonderful under the radar among all the diver guys around you. Unfortunately very expensive since the last two year. The increase is just some 25 %. Better wait when the hype cooled down. Prices will come down.

1. reverso is great. 2. only thing what bothers me why a high hologerie watch house like jlc is not able or willing to creat a case which can stand 50-100 meters WR, and don’t bring authenticity’s , history or anything like that, vacheron can do it, cartier can do it, patek can do it , especially when we talking about an entry price of 10 grant… i mean for 10 grant i can expect when my girlfreind wants to have sex under the shower ( rarely enough happening) i don’t want to think, fuck, i have to put off my reverso first, or I am really fucked…
What moves? The recent reversos are bland compared to earlier versions...GMT, day date etc.
It’s a nice watch but I can find other dress watch options in this price point. Not worth 10K in my opinion.
