Awesome results! I’m scheduled to get my own clearview3 with Dr. Krad on May 13th! I was originally thinking I wanted LAL+ with mini-mono but after seeing so many people getting such great results (this lens has been around for many years in Europe) with this multi-focal lens and finding that I am a candidate for it I switched my top choice to the Clearview 3. I like the idea of a full range of vision that multi focals provide but I also want minimal dysphotipsia. This lens seems to do both pretty well. The slight angel wings nighttime effect being described here sounds much more tolerable than halos. I’ll post here again with my results after I get mine. Hoping for just as good of results as experienced by the woman in this video.

Same here, was aiming for LAL however, small and close up reading can be disappointing so considering CV3……..Hope you achieve the result you’re hoping for.
Would be good to hear your experience 🤓X😃👍

It's been 2 weeks since I got my Clearview3 in both eyes. I did the first eye on a Monday and the 2nd eye on a Thursday of the same week. Both procedures went well according to Dr. Krad. Although I see well on paper both far and near, I'm experiencing greater dysphotopsias than anyone else I've heard from that received this lens. Basically, my brain seems to see "ghosting" on high contrast images especially at close (phone) and mid (computer) distances. I also had a significant full 4 point starburst effect from any light source both night and day...headlights, tail lights, traffic lights, etc. I say "had" because after about 10 days, the daytime effect has disappeared almost completely while the nighttime effect is much reduced to just the "angel wing" described by others with this lens.
I found someone that received a PanOptix lens that describes the problem I am seeing almost exactly how I would describe my issues with the Clearview3.
See this youtube video if you would like more details.
      ruclips.net/video/M_YcdD-jYjI/видео.htmlsi=vr3Iv3w6RzJV4Y_m
He solved his problem by swapping to the LAL. I might try the same if my brain doesn't adjust on its own over time.
      About my procedure.
      50 years old
      Hyperope with +3.00 left / +3.75 right (Fairly low astigmatism: 0.2 L / 0.4 R )
Never had Lasik or any eye surgery before
With glasses I could see 20/20 both near and far but without I couldn't see squat..
Did RLE to get rid of glasses (elective procedure since no cataracts)
      Post surgery results:
Refractively close to plano on both eyes.
Distance vision subjectively the same as with glasses prior to surgery
Near/Mid is worse than with glasses prior to surgery
Even with glasses my mid/near vision is worse than before the Clearview3 because the "ghosting" effect is never completely eliminated even with glasses.

@@tltolman73 sorry to hear of your disappointment to date with the CV3, your information is very helpful and timely as I too am trying to reach a decision which is best for myself.
My prescription is significantly worse than yours -12 and -7.50 respectively with astigmatism........I like the idea of LALs but, wouldn't wish to rely on reading glasses or have to carry them with me.
The CV3 seems to give nearly equal strength in both eyes rather than one eye for distance and one for Mid/near....is that correct?
I do hope things improve for you and get you to your desired result.......would be good to hear if things do get better and your final outcome and summary - Thanks 👍

@@111msw That's correct. Both eyes have similar quality near/mid/far with the CL3. If I do switch out to LAL I will do one eye first which hopefully resolves the ghost images I'm seeing while using both (I noticed this worked when I only had the first CL3 implanted and was using glasses on my other pre-CL3 natural lens) and thus keeping one eye with CL3 to keep full range near/mid/far in at least one eye.

Question..I have AMD in right eye and already had lens replacement which made objects brighter but cannot see clearly (I realize it cannot get better). I am going to have the cataract surgery for my other eye (left) and am considering the Clearview. What results can I expect with only the left eye being corrected and the right eye uncorrected other than blurred vision?

If someone has significant corneal astigmatism, the astigmatism will need to be reduced one way or another to improve vision quality. Since the lens doesn't reduce astigmatism, Laser can be performed in conjunction with the Clearview either at same time or a subsequent procedure

Hello dr, i have a question...can i air travel high altitude 2weeks after cataract surgery?

    • @DoctorKrad
      @DoctorKrad  3 месяца назад +2

For my own patients, I request that they stay in town for a week after surgery, just in case they experience a problem they are nearby and I can check on them. In terms of getting on a plane: I wouldn't be worried about altitude change even a day after Cataract surgery if there were no complications. Ask your surgeon of course. In general, one needs to avoid altitude changes if they had gas or air injected in their eye, which is mostly done in non-cataract procedures such as retina surgery or cornea transplants. Hope that helps.
