This could be the wave of the future transportation. It looks like it would be safe on sidewalks too.

    • @mnomadvfx
      @mnomadvfx 8 месяцев назад

Safe on sidewalks doesn't mean welcome on sidewalks.
There's little enough space for people as it is in many busy urban districts without adding a full cabin enclosed bike into the mix.

I don't think this would be safe where I live. A lot of people have their eyes glued to their mobile phones, drive large vehicles, and drive well over the speed limit.

I also found the "podride" ebike. I think these companies probably compete..I wonder who invented it first? I liked that the mypodride company showed videos during winter time and difficult roads. Both look great though!

Many of these 'car bikes' seem to be selling protection from the elements, but so far I haven't seen a single one that has a fully covered cabin.
They are all protection only in the direction the vehicle is travelling in - so if you have heavy side moving rain for a long stretch then you are up a creek without a paddle.
Come on guys, even baby strollers can provide full cover as a bare minimum.

  • @jimj2683

Needs to be fully enclosed for winter/heavy rain. Ideally a cabriolet. And it needs aircondition like the zero breeze mark 2. Ambient airflow alone is not enough to avoid sweating on an ebike.
The design also needs some tweaks by a good designer to look more desirable.
The price needs to come down to €5K to really sell well.

air con is evil... you don't need it... we were without for ages and we didn't need it... now everyone wants air con... it sucks so much electricity that is one of the worse things for the planet, not just in cars but also at home and work...
i also disagree for the price... I think a serious, fully enclosed e-bike, should have powerful electric motor to let you go faster with less effort, and good comfort and visibility. the rest is crap. I can pay also 10.000 dollars or more to sell the car and use a serious fully enclosed e-bike...

Here in Norway where it is invented? It is raining sideways with wind. Will there be an option to completely close it off on the sides ? Also as other montioned, it looks too open under with your feet. Looking forward to see this.

Love its! If you give me e real fully enclosed one, with a powerful electric motor to minimize effort, I can pay up to 15.000 dollars for a human powered vehicle! NO engine, no gasoline, no expenses like a car. It would be AWESOME!

  • @funkallectual

    hmm it looks half-baked.
    - it needs a motor for uphill and rugged terrain
    - would it be classified as a car or a bike, safety reasons?
    - unsafe on the streets with speeding cars and trucks
    - great for parks
    - how about protection from elements - strong winds, storms, etc?

-It has a motor and magnify the pedal imput of torque
-it is classified as a bike in Europe
-it drives on bike driveways, due it have the same width and is saver than bikes
      -yes
      - better than a bike

The reason most of these enclosed e-bikes have an open foot well is because, in many jurisdictions, the reflectors on the pedals have to be visible for it to be legal.

Meu sonho, e vou continuar sonhando infelizmente.

I have to climb a +400 meter long hill, with a slope like 40 degrees with the horizontal to go home, with a total height change like 600 meters. I need a vehicle able to overcome this. I don't know if some electric vehicle could do it.

    • @pabloricardodetarragon2649
      @pabloricardodetarragon2649 3 года назад +1

Are you sure that the slope is 40 degrees? Is it a paved road? Even a car would be in trouble to climb that in first gear. Impossible to use a cart with horses, mules or oxes...Very hard while walking. A very steep paved street is less than 20 degrees, simply because if steeper it would be impossible to use machinery. A very steep mountain road is around 18 degrees, so 35%.
To answer your question that depends on the kind of electric motorization and the power.
A gearless hub won't go over 10-12°, a geared hub (ratio 5/1) like the Bafang 750 watts 48 volts will go to 20° max agonizing. But as the wheels are in alloy you can forget any hub motor kit.
A mid motor 8FUN Bafang BBS02 BBS02B 48 V 750 W using the chain transmission and the derailleur will do it with the good ratio very slowly at 3 mph. Beware of the electric consumption you'll need a beefy battery and check the resistance of the chain. A simple bicycle chain won't survive. So you have to find a chain kit with derailleur special for cargo bikes and trikes, not easy and very expensive.
Another solution is to use a 2000 to 3000 watts 60 volts motor having an internal gear ration around 6 to 1 plus a gear box or an industrial CVT plus a good chain in the 420 size (the same as a classic gas moped) if it's possible to install in this velocar. That means installing an rear axle with a differential, the CVT or gearbox and the motor, plus the batteries. Good luck...
Last solution is to check in Aliexpress the material for karts, as axles, suspensions and so on, and to build your own 4 wheeler for your very special need. That is perfectly possible, but asks for a shop and some skill.

Not impressed. Looks to be mostly vaporware.
Most of the e-vehicle ideas are way over priced crap-pods like anything from Tesla, the still born EV3 from Morgan, and just about any of the idiocy coming from Ford or GM.
The only company that I've seen that might have a practical vehicle to offer at reasonable prices is Vanderhall Motor Works out of Provo Utah.
Other than that, all we got are over priced crap-pods or vaporware.
