Hi Mike , thanks for doing the tag and thanks for your kind words . . I’ll be doing my top 20 of 2023 in the next few weeks unsurprisingly Slowdive will feature 👍. you showed some great 80s albums It has to be the 80s ✔️love those 7inch singles . It’s a nightmare 😳😁. England for the win ✔️.. Alison goldfrapp is in my top 20 👍 yes those are 90s classics ! Yes you always show loveless 😀 I have that rush album. Plus I bought a used 2112 today 👍 great response Mike. Have a great 2024 👍🎉
Thank you, Rob, great tag this year! Has to be the 80's, has to be England, amazing how much great music comes from there. Rush is great, underrated. You have a great 2024 as well!
Great tag response Mike. You showed so many great albums like B-52’s Whammy, Skylarking on and on. The Cocteau’s…brilliant. Thanks for shout out Mike, my Stereolab collection is growing all the time……Peng is on its way! Mike
Keep that Stereolab collection growing, they are a great band to collect, very prolific! Peng has so many great songs, Peng! 33, The Seeming and the Meaning, Super Falling Star, Mellotron, Perversion, Stomach Worm, Surrealchemist... You'll love it. Cheers Mike!
Great Vinyl Tag! I just made my first video and it was a Vinyl Tag as well. I will have to check out Slowdive, Prince and Revolution Live, that Royksopp Boxset (Haven't heard of them), and XTC. I look forward to checking out your other videos.
Very well done, Mike. Now comes the hard part... putting everything back! Burning from the Inside was my first Bauhaus record as well. Thank you for the shoutouts!
Took a while to put them back, but its nice to pull them out and see a bunch of records you haven't seen in a while. I watched your video, need to go back and leave a comment. Cheers Bret!
Mike, great tag response, superb 80's discs and decade. Substance is a lovely record. I don't own any Stereolab, l'll have to get some. Nice Bauhaus album, Thanks for the unexpected shout out. Sorry my accent's still so thick, it's really diluted, you wouldn't have understood a word when l was young😂 Lovely Alison Goldfrapp album. OK Computer is a classic. I used to have all the Rush albums, l need to buy them back. Cheers Mike
Nice List, I dig all of the selections. I've not seen those Stereolab singles before, very cool. Miss Modular and Cybele's Reverie are terrific songs. I will check out Thick Pigeon. I spy the Medicine album on your shelf, is that a box set? Beth Thompson is marvelous.
Yes that's a Medicine box set put out by Captured Tracks, contains their first 2 albums and an ep and some extras. Beth Thompson is great. Agree on the Stereolab, great songs! Thanks for watching!
Awesome tag. I popped out to check out Röyksopp and I am very interested. I went with the 70s in my tag, but the 80s is a solid choice. So many great bands in the decade.
I was really impressed by slow dive album, it’s probably my 2023 favorite too. How is “thank your lucky stars” album, it’s the only beach house album I don’t own or haven’t heard. Awesome stereolab collection, the artwork is eye catching! Great vinyl tag.
Thank Your Lucky Stars has some good songs on it (Majorette, Elegy to the Void, Rough Song), but not nearly as good as Depression Cherry. Thank you, thanks for watching!
Hi Mike, I’m an introvert also so I just invite guest that will be entertaining without having to participate lol. Not surprised with the UK being chosen. Great tag. Amazon sent me an opened Rain parade album, it was just lying in a big box and was opened. They did send me a prop, dry sealed one. What kind of crap is that?
Hi Mike - Lots of excellent stuff. I have Dark Side of the Moon sitting in my record pile for my tag reply 🙂 Ha ha. The John Cale series has only just begun 🙂 but, it is getting so few views, I might abandon it 😬I enjoyed this video.
Hey Brian, hope you had a great trip (assuming you are back from it). Looking forward to seeing your reply. You could do an all John Cale Vinyl Tag, like I did with Stereolab last year.
Everything Is Alive by Slowdive was my definite # 1 of 2023 & my favorite new discovery was Nation Of Language & their album called Disciple. They sound like early New Order & even have an excellent female synthesizer player.
Slowdive was a clear choice for me, given how many times I listened to it. I have been recommended checking out Nation of Language by a few people, only listened to a few songs so far. I like their sound.
I was lucky enough to have seen Prince and the Revolution twice. Once as an opener for the Rolling Stones and once as the headliner. They were great both times though they didn’t get to complete their set when they opened for the Stones. I think the Butthole Surfers would make you feel at home. I’m not sure if I watched your concert video. I will go see.
Get ready, 2 Cocteau Twins lps being released in USA by 4AD for the 1st time this Friday!!: Milk and Kisses and Four Calendar cafe, supposedly from master tapes. I have OG pressings of these (was in the right place at the right time and didn't pay much for them, beautiful copies) and the 2lp RSD of both (with b sides and rare), but curiosity always kills the cat and will get these as well, love to compare pressings. Do you have a lot of Cocteau's 12" and EPs? Do you have Violaine 12"? It has Alice on it (one of my fave Cocteau twins songs). the 4AD website had press release for these, they are remastered and Robin Guthrie was involved!! Boy they need to get back together, would love to see them in concert again
I will get those new represses once my record store gets them in. I have the 2 LP RSD of Milk & Kisses. I have all the 12"s up to Iceblink Luck. I have all the eps on cd though. I made a CT collection video a few months back, check it out. I would love to see them in concert again too. Saw Liz perform twice on the most recent Massive Attack tour.
So I just got the newly remastered Robin Guthrie remastered cocteau twins, wow really great. I have the OG Fontana pressing and 2 lp RSD of four calendar cafe. There's real depth to this new lp and there are instruments I have not heard on other 2 pressings. This hits a home run
I'll be getting those new CT re-issues once I see them at my local store. Seems like whenever I pre-order, they come in after the record stores get them in. And whenever I wait for the stores to get them in, everyone already has theirs come through the mail already. I can't win.
I was born in 68, graduated high school in 86. I mixed those up in the video. 86 was a great year for music, for sure. I never saw the Smiths, saw the Cure first time last year, and saw Siouxsie a few times back in the late 80s. Thanks for watching!

Sounds good, looking forward to it.

Thanks Mike. Appreciate it. I think everyone should get some Stereolab albums, and Rush too!
I enjoyed your vinyl tag video. Seeing all of the 80’s records 😍 There is so much great music from the 80’s!
Hey thanks for watching. After I made the video, I kept thinking of more and more 80's records I should have shown.
Love Dale Bozzio! very cool vinyl tag I really enjoy RUSH exit stage left too, thanks for sharing happy 2024!
Thanks! Love Exit Stage Left, been listening to it for decades. Happy New Year to you too!
Great video Mike! Loved your choices from the 80s especially!
Thanks Todd. I could have just kept going with 80s bands I love, so many of them. I think I am going to jump in on the 80s Tag I saw going around too.

Very true. Hope you like Royksopp, I have been listening to them a lot lately.

Great list! I totally had forgotten I had the Too Crazy Cowboys 2003 CD reissue. I will definitely pull it out for a listen!
Such a great album. Thanks!

Amazon sent me an opened Rain parade album, it was just lying in a big box and was opened. They did send me a prop, dry sealed one. What kind of crap is that?
Hey Steve, yeah I don't get Amazon when they pull crap like that. But they eventually made it right.

@@playvinylinthemilkynight1879 That's a good idea! Not sure I can manage it, though...

Missing Persons , whoaaa , US Drag , huge Bozzio fan and that’s his mega cool beat. Great album.
Agreed, love that album, love the Bozzios. Thanks for watching!

Would love to have seen Prince. I read somewhere that Gibby makes a good peach cobbler.
Just subbed
