If you love Jalapeño Poppers then you are going to love my absolute favorite Tailgate Snack - Texas Twinkies. Texas Twinkies were invented by my friend's Hutchins BBQ in McKinney, TX and they are amazing! I mean how can stuffing cream cheese and brisket into a jalapeño and wrapping it in bacon and smoking it be bad?

Warning - Making these for dinner guests is like giving milk to a stray cat - they'll never leave. I know from experience and that was before Pastor Pittman took it up a notch by smoking the cream cheese.
🤣😂 that is so.. true!!
Lmbo!!! Love this comment!
Too funny.😂
…or giving it to neighbors.
They said: that was great!!! What’s for lunch tomorrow?
🤣
Hutchins is where its at. Love eating there. Show up early for lunch as the line gets long fast.
I love living right between both locations. That jalapeno cheddar sausage is incredible
Gotta love a Texas Twinkie!! Many days I've picked up a 2 meat plate at Hutchins BBQ and added 1 Texas Twinkie....the 2 meat plate ended up as lunch or dinner the next day. For sure it's enough to be a meal...especially if you add a cool side or two!!
Hey Matt…I made some Texas Twinkies tonight for our family and everyone loved them! The only thing I did different was we had left over smoked pulled pork, so we used that instead of brisket. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Matt, genuinely, thank you sir. Twice now I’ve prepared your recipes and two years back to back I’ve had success at our annual 4th block parties. And a bunch of great meal covers in between then. Thank you!
Thanks for the tip on softening the jalapenos on the smoker!!!! Makes a huge difference to me on how quickly I can put them together.
As always, this is a great video. Since I moved from Texas back to Florida, I have been following your recopies to bring a little bit of Texas with me and believe me, the friends and family ain't mad at it.
Awesome!!!
A few weeks ago I had my entire family here in TX visiting from Tampa, FL. Between them and my kids, we had 21 people over, so I fired up the smoker and made brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, and smoked mac n cheese, all following the videos from the Meat Church. They all loved it and raved about it. Now I wish I had made some of these as well.
So glad I found your channel during the pandemic! I have made many of your recipes since for family gatherings and they all kill it! Thanks and can't wait for more in the tailgate series
Thanks Clint!!
@@MeatChurchBBQ good
I made these for the fourth for the first time. Followed the recipe and have to say these were BANGIN!! Can’t wait to do them again!
Loving these longer videos with some banter and story!
Thanks Garrett. The story telling is a fav of mine!
Just made these. They are amazing!!! Thanks for the video!!! 😁
Oh my gosh!!!
I couldn’t wait to try this recipe.
However, I had a few poblano peppers, and ground beef.
I served it with a side salad with a lemon vinaigrette dressing.
Oh good grief!!
We scarfed that down like a hungry tiger on a fresh kill.
Thank you for posting this video, and keep them coming.
I have learned so much from you.
Eventually, I will confess to my family and friends that my grill-genius is thank to you 🤣
Making these today on the food truck, always a hit!
Those look amazing, definitely will be making those, I really am enjoying your cooking series
Thanks Pete!
Hell yeah! Love me some Hutchins. Thanks for tip about the peppers Matt! I’ve never been able to get Twinkies right (or even come close to Hutchins’), but I’m gonna try out this method tomorrow and let ya know.
When I read "Texas Twinkies" I immediately thought of Hutchins BBQ in Frisco. My wife and I drive to that location from Plano even though another location is closer. Two Texas Twinkies are a meal for me, with broccoli slaw, the best I've ever tasted. 😎👍🏻💯
Matt, Best Texas Twinkies so far! Thanks for all the great content!
Making these today on the food truck, always a hit!. Another one on my to do list. Look soooo good..
Good of you to give a shout out to Hutchins in McKinney. I've eat there and it was the best bbq I ever had. I'm a new subscription and glad to have found your channel. The love you put in every recipe is appreciated.
Another one on my to do list. Look soooo good.
Your boys are ballin' so far this season! Hopefully they can keep that steam rollin'. Unlike my team....... *crying* Love your content!! Can't wait to try some of these recipes!! Think I am going to order some of the honey bacon seasoning. That sounds amazing!
East TN. Love the videos man! I’ve done most of your recipes and they are amazing.
Love this T method and pre-smoking the jalapeños before stuffing them. We will be making this version asap! We love using Meat Church seasonings in our RUclips Channel recipes, too!
I didn't have any brisket on hand, but I used this recipe as a guide to make some jalapeño poppers for the first tailgate of the season. They turned out delicious, but I had to use vegan cream cheese (seasoned with Honey Bacon rub) because one of my guests is allergic to dairy and I didn't want to leave her out with anything on the menu. If you're someone who is in the mood for heat, use vegan cream cheese. It doesn't really taste any different in a popper, but it doesn't contain any casein, so it doesn't do anything to temper the heat of the pepper. I found that out the hard way today (which is generally fine, but I wasn't in the mood for that much heat today).
LOOKS SO GOOD
I’ll be cooking these this weekend with the new tips I regularly cook your CHORIZO JALAPEÑO POPPERS w honey hog or hot. Thanks for sharing!
Made these last Sunday to watch SNF...AMAZING!!!!
Looks incredible Matt!
Those are always a must when I’m in town and stop off at Hutchins!
Another reason to keep watching. Thank you!
Beautiful. The brisket in the cream cheese was awesome.
So good!
These look amazing. I can’t wait to give this a try
Those look fantastic, and I'm already getting ideas on variations. Great vid. Thanks form Alabama!
Awesome! Thank you!
Been to Hutchison in Mckinney, and love them.
I'm a Saints fan and will happily follow your boy after seeing his dedication to his team, haha.
Love your take on these, but have crawfish for my meat mixture! Love the no toothpicks! Thanks for the tips!
Man that seasoning your make is so good iam in love with it
Thank you Brian!!!!
Oh my goodness! Can't wait ...I'm starting these tonight for Thanksgiving dinner!
Thanks for sharing! I made these today and they were a hit!!!
I eat these at Hutchins in McKinney…amazing! Thanks for the video!
We love to make these. My family doesn’t really like much heat, so we usually use poblanos…less heat and more stuffing!
This makes my day. Thanks!
I have everything to make these. I can't wait to try!
Just made these for the 4th n definitely a must try so good
Jirby is the man! Great vid
Wow those look amazing!! 💓👍👍😊
So glad i found an Awesome TEXAS (local) BBQ channel.
Howdy from the Tyler area.
My man, i've seen you in the past, but now your show has become one of my top favorites on youtube. Go Cowboys
I used to live in Mesquite in the mid 90's, a block down from the Mesqute Rodeo. We used to go to the Mesquite BBQ Grille on Military Parkway for all you can eat ribs quite often. I haven't been down there since 1998, I miss those days. It's probably closed or something now.
As a Scotsman the tailgate culture you guys have at sports events is something I really envy. These look delicious
No tailgating outside a football match?
For cleaning out the insides use a metal 1/8 tsp measuring spoon. Sounds like an insignificant thing but I've found it to be the best thing for cleaning my jalapenos. Fits perfectly inside the pepper.
Also, use a piping bag or zip top bag with a corner cut to put your filling in the pepper. These are so labor intensive I do everything I can to cut the time down
Thanks for the tips!!
@@2005Pilot you're welcome. When doing large amounts it helps to make it easier.
I find that using a butter knife gets them stuffed better and less messy. 😜
I’m gonna try the bag method next time! Thanks
I thought of the small measuring spoon to scoop and a piping bag to fill as I was watching this video …. and reading through the comments here you are!!! Reassurance of where my thoughts were on this! Thanks for comment!
RTR! I grew up in Prattville, AL and moved to Texas in my 20s. I wasn't born in Texas but got here as fast as I could.
I have found that a paring knife inserted in the top and then twisted several times will effectively core the pepper...no need to open the pepper up at all!!! Cant wait to try this with your recipe for Tri Tip!!!
Love the tailgate series! Need to open the beer before it gets hot!
Just made the smoked cream cheese jalapeno bacon wrap poppers Labor Day they were amazing
Love your videos. They are so informative. We can't get your seasoning up in Canada. Can you share a rub recipe that's similar? I'm doing a brisket today.
Hutchins is just something else…. Now Im craving it 😂 great video.
Oh my that looks delicious. I make these all the time. But I love the way you did it.
So now I got to find your recipe for the smoke cheese. Which is probably in the description. I'm gonna go look right now
Looks amazing, gonna try it
My local grocery store has these but without the brisket.l baked them. So delicious 😋.
Cowboy's fan -- I can't hold it against you because your talent for smoking any kind of food is top notch. Love the channel.
Love the tattoo story, Jirby!
Love ur videos Matt ..thanks for that bit of deliciousness
Thank you!!!
These look delicious. Thank you.
Thanks for doing this vid. I commented in the smoked cream cheese video about these and you delivered.
Yessir you did. We actually filmed them both the same day. Thanks for watching!
@@MeatChurchBBQ you guys are the best. Thanks again
Ain't nothin wrong with this video. Love the recipe and comes just in time as I have just enough leftover brisket from Labor Day to pull off yet another BBQ miracle. I ain't mad about it at all...
Perfect
Those look awesome!
I was in Frisco last week. Had the Hutchins BBQ brisket, sausage, and Texas Twinkies, of course, had no idea what they were before I got there. Everything was great, but wish I had just ordered a plateful of these. Awesome. Go Cowboys and Roll Tide!
Fantastic!
the comal makes nice touch...well done video brother
Didn’t know Matt as well as a bbq master is also psychic. Nailed it on that prediction of Goldee’s BBQ
Those look amazing can't wait to try them.... Lightin up my smoker now! Can't wait any longer
Loved these so much I froze a bunch of left over Twinkies. Today I sliced them frozen and dredged in flour egg and panko. Pan fried. Currently enjoying some Texas Nickels.
Yes, good ! Cheers from Austria 👍
I make these at the restaurant!! They sell so well
Great recipe Matt! Did my first batch last night...smoked the cream cheese and the jalapeños (although I wish I would have smoked the peppers another 20-30 minutes). Regardless, they tasted good, and you're right, you can eat the cream cheese and brisket mix by itself (wink - wink!).
PS - Lifelong Texan whose family has been smoking meats forever (some for $$ & some for competition) but I never got into it until now as I bought a pellet smoker. Really glad I stumbled onto your channel and website. Will be ordering some Meat Church swag (and other goodies) ASAP.
delicious recipe.
I make them and so tasty.
Roll tide. Thanks for the smoked cream cheese recipe. Love it. Been making these Bama twinkies for a while but, huge fan. Have learned so much. Come to Gulf Shores for a crab boil and bbq. Would love to have you, and we'll cook for you for a change.
Texas twinkies might be the best name of all time
I have to agree!
Can't wait to try your Texas Twinkies, Thank you Matt. Go 9ers
I love the video and recipe. Any extra tips on how to best manage all of the bacon grease drippings?
save it.. it's liquid gold
As a Pats fan, I think this may be my favourite BBQ youtube video of all time. :)
I hope Matt Pittman sees this comment . I live in New Mexico. And our Texas Twinkies are smothered in BBQ sauce. And we call them BBQ Rats. My in-laws have had a. Annular Halloween party for almost 40 plus years . And I learned how to make BBQ Rats. We added them to the food served at the party . They come out looking like a Rats Most of people the first year wouldn't try them the next year they ate about 5 pounds of them. Since then, they are one dish we are out of within the first hour.
Pepper first! :-D Hey you guys have great camaraderie! Thanks for another great vid!
Looks awesome Brother, can't wait to make it.!!!
Meat church. Greatest name ever and Texas Twinkie thats great
Shredded cheddar in with briskit and cream cheese
Damn... You guys are killin me! LOL... I am starving to death!!! Looks like I'll be hitting the store on my way home after work. I got some Twinkies to make!!! Thanks for the great ideas.
Trying NOW!!
Live in Frisco and love me some Hutchins Texas Twinkies!!! 🤤
Just found your channel! Love it! And what watch is that?
GShock!
Amazing- I'm doing these! Got lots of Meat Church seasonings ready to go. Go Cowboys!
Thanks!!!! I'm bringing Texas to my Idaho friends today with these Texas Twinkies!!!
I’ve made these twice now. The first was Aggie vs Arkansas tailgate at Jerry World. I got feedback from folks they were a bit on the spicy side. Someone told me to blanch them in ice water after the smoke pepper step. That did the trick. Also congrats Goldee’s for that Texas Monthly #1 rank!
The reason they call them jalapeno poppers in most jargon is because they are spicy The spicy the better.
You don't blanch in Ice Water, blanching is a short time in boiling water. You Shock in Ice Water. 😂
30 years ago we made these with pulled pork instead of brisket and called them ABTs(Atomic Buffalo Turds)
I was about to write the same thing
😅I'm making these now. I don't have any brisket, so I'm substituting chopped leftover tri-tip that I did the other day. Can't wait!
Wow!
Loving the smoked cream cheese recipes! These looked amazing! Also big fan of Jirby! Cant believe that tattoo 😂😂💀 I want to take a trip to Texas mainly to try Goldees in the very near future!
You should!!
I didn’t have a BBQ or smoker years ago but just used some liquid smoke in water and steamed the peppers for a few minutes , then filled. Nice and pliable
We ate Southside Market Barbecue just last week on our way to Houston. It's become a ritual with my family. Great Brisket, Hot Gut and always have to have a Sausage Slammer. They claim to be the oldest established Barbecue Restaurant in Texas. I think their 'Cue is as good as or better than any in Lockhart or Austin. The only disappointment I've ever had there was when they did away with RC & Diet Rite Colas, lol.
Considered an appetizer, but I made these last year at my Halloween party. Now, my family DEMANDS them for every get-together! 😂 they don't care if I'm there or not.... as long as the twinkies are!
Love all your rubs, as well as this channel brother. These will taste even better watching the Bucs take down the boys.. Thanks !!!
