The faster charging also makes the battery degrade a lot faster. I wish someone could actually test this, but I could only speak with experience since two my old phones which had quick charge technology started having battery problems much earlier.

About what I expected. It seems the Nord was most efficent around the 50% mark, but either way, the 4a did very well for such a small battery. Great video.
One thing I found a bit strange. Pixel 4a got charged to 78% in 50 mins but remaining 22% charging took whopping 37 mins more. Should have been done in 18-20 mins. Don't know if that's some issue with the battery
Hi ! How can you compare the consumption of two batteries when one smartphone is clearly brighter than the other ? Just see at 4:38 how the Pixel 4a is brighter. Impossible, then, to compare for over 7 hours. One little difference of settings becomes huge on such a long lasting !
Didn't lose that badly 4a has a smaller battery and worse cpu and still performed well. It depends what a person wants. 4a is a one handed phone with a decent camera. Nord is neither
Wow! I can get an extra hour of battery life, and a slightly faster phone for the low low price of leaving the US and going to wherever I can buy a Nord!
problem is, when a small battery degrades nothing can save it It's just like having 3 efficient fuel tanks vs 6 non-efficient ones, when they both degrade by 1 you have 2 vs 5 and software can't save you anymore But eitherways 3115 isn't way too small and I can live
I have 3000 mAh on my OP 3 and it's still fine despite being 4 years old. The iPhone SE has too small battery at 1800 mAh. A phone should last 5 years and it's the battery that's the limit on lifespan with the glued design of most phones.
That doesn't make any sense. the battery will degrade by a percentage of its original performance. both these phones batteries will degrade by the same percent if treated the same regardless of their capacity.

Some phones have their reserve early and some late, so some seem to drain slower at the start and some at the end. That is why it is best to judge when the final result is in. From the results it is clear there is no magic going on with the Pixel 4a, a lower powered phone will use less energy and with basic functionality (low-res and no high refresh rate) it performed average. As did the Nord. There are very few battery miracles, it is simple, less features and more mAh will translate to better battery life. Of course, Apple optimizes better due to hardware and software integration so may get better results. The Nord is an easy choice for me if I had to choose between them as in two-years time battery degradation will mean charging twice a day on the Pixel. However, both of these are relatively poor value and the Poco X3 or the Poco F2 Pro would easily be ahead of these on my shortlist.

I had the 8 pro had to return it, kept getting disconnected from my carrier. And it’s a real issue that one plus won’t address so I returned it and ended up getting my first iPhone ever and I’m liking it more than android so far.
Pixel brightness is like more than in Nord and due to that battery decreases a lot compared to nord.still it can't beat pixel in its camera and other comparison
Pixel 4a can beat Oneplus nord ONLY in camera....
You do realize that one is running at 90Hz. Nord has a powerful chip set and bigger display so yeahhh...it would easily destroy the pixel if it was set at 60hz.
well, it is also becuz of the viewing angle.
When u install Gcam on Nord 😂 best of both worlds

P.S pixel doesn't come up with USELESS quad cam setup.👍
my God, I spent a lot of time comparing the pixel software with other devices in order to understand how long the battery will live, in the end I subscribed to this video where the dude clearly showed everything! thank you, you really helped with this test!!!!!!!
OnePlus has 23% more battery yet only finished with 11% more remaining than Pixel. I'd say that shows how well Google has optimized the software to work with the hardware on the Pixel. Seven hours of screen on time from a 3140 mAh battery is pretty damn efficient if you ask me!
Nord was on 90hz
Bigger screen and 90htz on Nord
compare it to google pixel 4 that actually has 90hz and even less battery abd you wouldn't be so sure about their optinalization. I actually have pixel 4 and i love it but in this test it was actually oneplus that surprised with its 90hz and big screen and still had 11% battery left.
Also this is running on wifi. If using mobile internet it will use more battery. A lot of people sceptical on the 4a battery. Well its true. Now pixel 5 should come with 4000mah battery. 4a is a scam
@@riccomori5035 That makes no sense. They are both running on WiFi and if using mobile internet both would use the same amount of additional battery. Where is your proof that what you claim is "true?" 4a is NOT a "scam," and the video at the below link is proof. In the video, and without using any data, wifi or mobile, SpeedtestG ran an endurance test using the same algorithm test he uses on all phones, and the OnePlus Nord only got 5 more minutes of battery. @Mr Garvit Definitely not. The nord has a better cpu, better ram, a 90hz display screen and in general performs better.

The faster charging also makes the battery degrade a lot faster.
I wish someone could actually test this, but I could only speak with experience since two my old phones which had quick charge technology started having battery problems much earlier.

Great comparison video. However, starting a meeting and joining one uses data and battery very differently.
How?
@@raghavjajoo honestly, from experience. My daily chores revolve around creating a meeting and joining one.
@@raghavjajoo Creating a meeting requires your phone to monitor and control multiple devices connected to the meeting. Joining a meeting only requires your phone to keep connected to the meeting and listen and view. You asked...
Actually you don't host a meeting, it's being hosted on a server. For skype/microsoft teams and most likely zoom as well. It's a virtual meeting room, nobody hosts it, it's running on a server, and every participant is just that: a participant
@@Sheppards1984 By "host", I mean that you are the "host" of the meeting. You are the one who controls the room. You are given the rights to mute all mics. You can allow or disallow someone to join the meeting. This means your device uses more data because you are controlling the meeting whereas others are just basically watching.
Was the zoom test not a little bit skewed since hosting a call requires more power than joining one?
I don't believe it does, seeing as how you're not hosting the call on your device but rather on Zoom's servers

Hey mats
so guys, the Phone on which Timer is running is the best battery phone.
One of the best battery drain tests I have seen !
Pixel looks brighter throughout whole video.
About what I expected. It seems the Nord was most efficent around the 50% mark, but either way, the 4a did very well for such a small battery. Great video.
I would prefer the Oneplus Nord, if, the camera on the 4A was not insanely better. Camera photo quality is the #1 important feature to me.
Oneplus camera is really bad. Even the Samsung A71 has a better camera.
One thing I found a bit strange. Pixel 4a got charged to 78% in 50 mins but remaining 22% charging took whopping 37 mins more. Should have been done in 18-20 mins. Don't know if that's some issue with the battery
I had the Pixel 4a and noticed that as well.
Every one chooses pixel after watching this even it has lost
It has better cameras better software for me better standby time and googly features and overall better...
Hi ! How can you compare the consumption of two batteries when one smartphone is clearly brighter than the other ? Just see at 4:38 how the Pixel 4a is brighter. Impossible, then, to compare for over 7 hours. One little difference of settings becomes huge on such a long lasting !
Wasn't expecting 4a to lose this ridiculously
Didn't lose that badly
4a has a smaller battery and worse cpu and still performed well.
It depends what a person wants. 4a is a one handed phone with a decent camera. Nord is neither
Wow! I can get an extra hour of battery life, and a slightly faster phone for the low low price of leaving the US and going to wherever I can buy a Nord!
With that logic you should buy samsung m51, that'll give you 5 extra hour of battery
problem is, when a small battery degrades nothing can save it
It's just like having 3 efficient fuel tanks vs 6 non-efficient ones, when they both degrade by 1 you have 2 vs 5 and software can't save you anymore
But eitherways 3115 isn't way too small and I can live
I have 3000 mAh on my OP 3 and it's still fine despite being 4 years old. The iPhone SE has too small battery at 1800 mAh. A phone should last 5 years and it's the battery that's the limit on lifespan with the glued design of most phones.
That doesn't make any sense. the battery will degrade by a percentage of its original performance. both these phones batteries will degrade by the same percent if treated the same regardless of their capacity.
Hey you did a fair comparision of both, keep up the work and do more videos

@@gururagavendran6694 are you using Oneplus. There is not much of a difference in software skins as marketed by these reviewers. Every software skin has a lot of issues. Since Realme is a newer brand, I think the software support and custom ROM support will improve over time.
@@gururagavendran6694 people talk about customization, but yet the OnePlus stock launcher only provides a handful of customization. Lot of smartphone users uses third party launchers in that case.
I can point out some of the features lacking in oxygen OS.
1. No AOD feature up until now
2. Limited customization to the horizon light notification lighting.
3. No true one handed mode for those large Oneplus Devices.
3. No way to select multiple folders at the home screen.
4. The oxygen OS lack in feature when compared with other skins like one UI.
5. Oxygen OS is not a completely bloat free experience anymore, they have started to include pre installed facebook services starting from the 8 Series and nord smartphone. You can't uninstall those apps, you can only do it with a ADB command. So OOS has become a skin with minimal bloat-ware.
5. Stock camera in OOS app doesn't have a pro mode for the selfie camera yet!!

The hardware provided by the X2 pro can simply outmatch the Nords hardware.
Sd 855+ vs sd 765g is enough to decide the winner.
Besides Oneplus camera post processing is not upto the standard, ask your friends whether they use stock camera or gcam.
Gcam works well for the x2 pro as well.

What's the point of this test if Nord ruining 90hz and Pixel 60?
The point was to keep it as near as to real world usage ... you won’t be keeping it to 60hz and using it so that’s why
Just keeping at 60hz and doing battery will also make Nord win but that won’t be realistic
Would you buy a phone that supports 90hz to use it only at 60hz?
I dont care about Hz bro. I would keep it 60hz all day long. I need battery life that's all.

I have a pixel 2, and was planning to go for a pixel 4a. But my pixel 2 has been having horrible battery life since the past year. It dies on me even with 25-40% charge left.
Ok good for you for most of us ordinary people pixel 4a is the best value phone and a really good phone
