- Kim Wall was a 30-year-old Swedish journalist at the start of a promising career when she was invited to interview inventor Peter Madsen aboard his homemade submarine. Her dismembered remains were found at sea 11 days later, on 21 August last year.
Prosecutors accuse him of having planned the crime, either suffocating her or cutting her throat.
He admits dismembering her body but denies intentionally killing her.
Maddy Savage reports on what we know about the case so far, ahead of the verdict due on Wednesday.

Can we talk about how they found her dismembered body parts by the help of a dog. Body parts at the bottom of the ocean and the dog could still find them by scent. This case might have gone differently if they hadn't found the body parts.

Nah, he'll not get treated like average prisoners, he will get treated badly - not like in American prison, but still a bit worse than average prisoners. And that's important to understand - that there is a difference between being a prisoner for stealing and being a prisoner for such a sick murder.
He was attacked by another prisoner and left in hospital so I wouldn’t be so sure about that if I were you

I corresponded with Peter 20 years ago when we were both in a personal submersible builder's group online. He'd built this neat sub called Freya with a dive lock chamber inside. Seeing all of this is beyond bizarre.

This is so horrible, and the fact it wasn't personal she was just the unlucky one to actually go with him, it could've been anyone but it was her, so horrible and tragic.
An ex girlfriend and admirer of his, realized it would probably have been her, had Kim not been so assertive and urged him for an interview before she got around to arranging a similar sort of 'date' with him. She was totally horrified and traumatized. So much so that she demanded a change in the Netflix docu about the case, in which she was featured. They replaced her with an actress.
Heck, he might have become a serial killer if he had got away with the Kim case.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had other victims. Maybe he is a serial killer who got away until this time.
Is this a cautionary story? I think so, maybe it is this, just because you CAN go with a stranger, into his stronghold, does not mean you should. She should have insisted on an escort--if he said "no", then she should have said "no" as well. NOT criticizing, she was the innocent victim, just thinking out loud. Life isn't perfectly safe, I do realize that. But even if nothing happened, I would say a young woman should not accept an "offer" like that--not without an escort.

No I will not. Peter Madsen has never been suspected in other murders at any time. The murder of Kazuko Toyonaga happened in 1986 when Peter Madsen was 14 years old!

Damn, I remember this story. But I had only heard that the homemade Submarine had sunk. I was watching another video and it showed the submarine and said that she had been murdered. Well I hadn't heard about that part and then I found out why. It was days after the sub had sunk when they found her. Living in the States, they never followed up on the story that I know of. Its ashame that he did this to her. I guess it was one of those, if I cant have you nobody else can too. I hope that her family and friends got the justice for her. She was a very pretty woman and I couldn't imagine what her boyfriend was going through when he got the news the sub sank. Then only a couple days later they started finding her all over the place. That would have drive me insane and I would have done whatever it would take to get to that man.

A court-ordered psychiatric evaluation of Mr. Madsen described him as a narcissistic psychopath, lacking in empathy but not psychotic or delusional."
Psycopaths and sexual perverts like Madsen might not have any other motivation than to have some kind of "extreme" experience of torturing (both sexually and otherwise) the victim, then kill the victim and finally getting rid of the body by chopping it to pieces.....
The prosecutor said that Madsen didnt have anything against Kim Wall spesifically, but that Wall was simply the unfortunate one to be selected as his victim as she was the first woman to visit his submarine when he had decided to commit his act.......they were convinced that if Kim Wall had not gone to submarine, that Madsen would have simply done the same to some other woman later....

None that we know of. Police investigated some old, similar, and unsolved murders to see if there was any connection, but didn't find any. But yeah. from how calm he acted after committing the act and cutting up another person, one can't help but wonder if he's done it before.

Capital punishment actually costs more than life imprisonment. Also, it achieves nothing and is purely just you wanting revenge and vengeance. Truth is, the best and most effective legal systems are the humane ones, and prisons that treat inmates poorly lead to higher crime rates. Capital punishment is barbaric and shouldn’t be used in any modern country no matter how heinous the crime was. There is a correlation between low crime rates and how well you treat inmates and criminals.
