i've seen a lot of tik tokers who use colored pencils recommend soaking them a bit to get the wax off of them so that the color is richer. Definitely give this is a shot again!
It looked nice in the end and love how you really stretched your self with doing something new that your not very confident with. It really helps you grow as an artist and a person. Girl skillshare some colored pencil classes! I used to hate them too but after a little practice with them, i ended up loving them. So versatile and it feels more natural to me than using inks. It might also help to use some pencils that are less waxy and more creamy. I used crazyart (dark times) when i was starting out and then i switched to prismacolor pencils when i felt more confident and was a world of a difference.

I’m new to the bullet journal, and colored pencils were what I had on hand to start with. I’m finding that I really like the combination of colored pencils and markers.
You could try blending the colour pencils and get a smooth texture using these steps: 1. Straight up colour 2. Next layer in perpendicular direction 3. Round scribbly-circular strokes
You could do just looked up “bullet journal” or “bullet journal spreads” and it would come up with videos that had that caption or something like it 😂😂❤️
Mihan. used coloured pencils in her march set up if you want inspo! Her style in quite different to yours but if you’re looking to give them a second chance that might be a good place to start.

I don't know if you will see this because there are so many comments, but in case you do... when I use colored pencils I use the "prismacolor premier colorless blender PM-121". It has a dual tip and makes your pencil lines blend together and gives you an overall smoother vibe. Hope this helps you fall in love with colored pencils!

Colored pencils look great on craft paper. You can do that then cut it out and use the cut out.
