John broke the rules of the hotel ( the continental) which say you can't kill in the premises of the hotel.
In my honest opinion, the john wick movies only get better than the ones that came before them. It's very rare to have that happen in the movie world.

Yes, john wick is on the run after he shoots the man in the continental. (Punishable by death) the number of bodies john catches increases in each subsequent movie as well raising the stakes further. I don't want to spoil anything.
Yea, I figured he was on the run I would once I notice everyone tryna kill me 😂 so I’m excited to see John wick 3 now just to see how he keeps himself from being caught.
