EP. 6 - AirCraft Custom ENGINE TURNED Gauge Panels: Installing Radial Airplane Motor in Volkswagen!

- On the episode we create some custom engine turned gauge panels. We try and keep with the aircraft theme and fabricate an upper roof console that will hold our Stewart Warner Winged gauges. I will try and keep with this theme in small areas to complement our air craft motor. Enjoy!

The level of detail you put in your builds, the music and the simple way of recording, speaking and explaining you do makes this content ART
Thank you very much! Hope to continue to create and make more art
The inserts complement the interior nicely, those wing needle gauges are timeless they look good in just about everything. Cheers Greg
Yeah they definitely do!
Outstanding work, such attention to detail.
love it cant wait for the next one
the gauges and all those bolt holes need to be sealed up. water gets inside that air vent. amazing work!
Everything about this fabrication is spot on and stunning! Artistry, design and functionality blended perfectly! Love the paint and interior as well. That is turning into one awesome Combi! And a Josh walk on...drink! Go Bennetts Customs, keep moving forward!
Thank you Murdoc!!! Much appreciated as always
You are creating a real dream machine, your creativity and eye for detail will be enjoyed and appreciated by the lucky owner for years to come.
Certainly hope so!
Cork gaskets? Will look mint.
That is lovely really cool way of bringing the aero into the interior, very creative.
Nice work! The overhead vent gets water in it when driving in the rain. If the bottom screws and panel are not sealed you will have one wet leg. :)
Also the vent flaps should go in before the ceiling liner as there are bolts above the liner. You could probably make them work with just the bottom bolts though. How are you running the wires? There are 20mm +/- holes at top of A pillars but behind the ceiling liner.
Yeah forsure! Probably run them down the a pillars or centre pillar it sealed after
Enjoying the content. Good stuff 👍
Jordan; What transformation and great gauges: thanks
Glad you like them!
Looks great. I like the subtle aircraft touch.
I agree!
Looks great Jordan Very KOOL
Thanks John!
Wow, what a great job by professionals.🙏👏🇧🇪
It's a very nice, artistic outcome there ..Still, you have to think about the main panel warning indicator lights (oil pressure, High beam and direction )as well as the main switches (main lights on-off switch, wiper's switch and cabin lights) Personal opinion, the angle of the gauges.. They should "look" to the driver but the general "look" would not be the same... Very nice interior...Bravo..
Great work Jordan
👌
It looks great.. very nice work
Thank you very much!
Great work, congratulations.
Nice touch.
Outstanding video and work as usual!! That is going to be a great looking vehicle! Take care
Thanks Dale!
Very, very nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Craytex sticks are available from a company called Gemcutter and Lapidary supplies. They have an online store.
Brilliant! Thank you!!
A nice vintage interior light would look good in the blank panel behind the vent handle.
Great idea!
Nice Work.

i agree the small triangle area needs to be filled in
The triangle, The triangle, The triangle!
Mirror, mirror, mirror! I think that’s what Jordan is planning.
Whoops, I put that up too soon. I agree with you that or needs something.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇸🇪
👍🏼👍🏼
Are you going to do the turned metal panel directly above the main gauge panel? its pretty small!
The gauge is too small, we are looking at others
The engine turning is cool, but the 160mph gauge in an old VW bus not so much. There is about 2/3 of the speedo that will never be used. I had the hardest time finding a speedo for an old jeep for the same reason. So many gauge manufacturers have a really poor selection of speed ranges available on their gauges.
Don’t worry. We’ll get it close!

Why a water temp gauge, when the engine is aircooled??
She’s water cooled!
