@@RealDustyChandler I wouldn't recommend laser engraving anything inside your home unless you have an enclosure and venting system. Even with that, the fumes can be rough. But, anything that is actually toxic... I wouldn't ever do that in your home. Only outside with a lot of fresh air and then not be around it while engraving.
@@RealDustyChandler As far as im aware, there is no safe amount of fumes from chrome tanned leather, its highly toxic in even small concentrations. I would not risk it personally. If you have to use it, i would take then entire machine outside and run it in open air while you stay indoors.
Awesome, great info! One word of warning, Never engrave or cut Chrome Tanned Leather, the fumes are extremely toxic.
Yep, I only use veg tan leather. I will try to remember to include that whenever I am making a video. Thanks for the reminder!
What If you have an enclosure that vents outside? I bought some Rust colored chrome tanned and I had no idea it was toxic.

@@justinmcclung I can manage that. My shop is about 16' tall 30x60 with doors on both ends. I'm going to also vent outside. Thanks for your help!

Is the blue dot an add on or is it stock on the D1? How do you turn it on or off?
It is stock. You can turn it on using Highborn under the Move tab. Then set the power to 5% and click the Fire button.
Which xtool are you using?
Just the standard D1, not the pro.
