  • Hello everyone! These are three original designs for minimalist wallets that can be cut on a laser cutter. I use Fusion 360 and a parametric model, that allows me to do some really crazy things, like auto generating diamond stitching patterns! All the patterns are available on my Etsy shop, link below!
Special thanks to Xtool for sending me a new P2 cO2 Laser to test! They gave me no restrictions or approval requirements on the unit, so all opinions are my own. I do like the system, and the software. Look forward to working with it more in the future! If you are interested in this laser, here is a link for a discount!

For you Cricut people - this one is likely not for you. I do think I will circle back soon and see what I can do to make this work on the Cricut Maker!
So what were my power settings?? Well - I will tell you, but also tell you that yours will likely be different. I engraved this leather at 600 speed, and 25 power. I cut at 30 to 36 speed, depending on how thick the leather was, and 75 to 80 power. But every type of leather is different. Even applying the finish beforehand makes it much more difficult to engrave or cut, so you will need to increase power and slow speed accordingly.

As I get older I am becoming increasingly appreciative of genuine hand-made stuff. Fantastic vid.

when turning at corners, do not use a diamond punch, but use an ordinary awl by stretching a simple hole. Also do not use a die-cut punch, make a hole in the corner only with an awl. in this case, after the sewing, the rotation will look more neat.

    Excellent tutorial!

Just found your channel. Love all your designs and info. The wife will not be happy when she sees the delivery guy coming - at least until she sees what i made. Thanks.

  • @weirdlywiredjewelry

Seriously SO much great info, even if you aren’t using a laser cutter. Thank you for sharing!

  • @lightforcelaserengraving-yi3pe

Another awesome step by step and detailed instructional video for very marketable products. Thanks for sharing your talents.

  • @cassandraknight6485

Beautiful work. Can't wait to get my laser!

The detail on these is amazing. Thank you for the step-by-step instructions on how to design!

  • @alanwilson1282

This was a very good video. Packed with a lot of info. Thank you for explaining how you do your work!

  • @stefaandeconinck1531

Hi there, about the diamond stitch, I am a saddler and work always with diamond stitches. You beter use a round hole in the corner.

  • @suehenderson9862

Oh, I am a Cricut person. Flirting with getting a laser engraver, though. Is it time to consummate the relationship…?

  • @benjaminpastrana9662

Thank you. I read from another leather making guy that is better to wet leather and damp with a cloth excess water and to dye the leather after the engraving or cut to minimize burn and odors.

  • @andreascott8574

Great video Tim! Cool designs - especially the skulls!

  • @Cwkramer50

Very nicely done, I also have an OMTECH but without all of the upgrades. Your review of the XtoolP2 showed a lot of features that I wish I had available. Thank you for the in-depth on making the wallets, I haven’t done any leather work yet. I have downloaded a design for a no sew leather bag that will be my first project. I have been making leather labels for my wife’s bags and have always had trouble cleaning off the soot, l will now finish that first before engraving. Thanks for the tip.

  • @fjohns0812
