it was originally a 4D ride/show at the Universal theme park. I went to it. All of the 3/4D bits like the spiders for example were made to seem like they were crawling by your feet by small gusts of air that were triggered.

I don't think many people would say that Lion Kings 2 is better than the first one. Sure, the conflict is more ambiguous, the songs are nice, but overall, it's just a good followup to a cult movie.
yeah you're right but it's a good sequel. I have no idea what sequel is better than the actual film. Definitely not the 300 sequel, it got me bored but it was more historically accurate to me
RomanceWriter1 Terminator 2? I'd say it had even more great tension than the original. Yeah, still some unnecessary pathos (T-800 didn't change because "even a machine can change", he changed because he was reprogrammed), but this time it feels more heart-warming than the first movie.

At least Shrek 2 was better than the first one.
Shrek 2 deserves to be on lists of "Top 10 Greatest Animated Sequels" (even if they're honiravle mentions instead of actually on the list), but Shrek 1 is nearly as awesome because while both films have their flaws, they tried so successfully (no pun intended on how greatly they did at the box office, especially Shrek 2) to make fairy tale culture much more kind towards equal rights of fairy tale character types by empowering at least a singular amount of princesses and giving ogres and donkeys heart as well as showing that they don't deserve to be stereotyped as helpless wusses and/or bitter-spirited.

Also, one thing about Hoodwinked 2: One of the big things that made the original a cult classic was its unconventional plot structure based off films like Rashomon; the sequel completely loses this interest and leaves us with a painfully straightforward buddy-cop story.

Only good sequels I can name off the top of my head are Aliens, Terminator 2, Shrek 2 and Toy Story 2. All of which are arguably even better than the original.
There's more than just those. Godfather Part 2, The Dark Knight, The Empire Strikes Back, The Bourne Ultimatum, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, etc. The list goes on.

I think you did miss a huge one on my list of “Worst Animated Sequels”- Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. Look it up, I think it’s even worse than “Belle’s Magical World”. Basically, Beast starts verbally abusing and neglecting Belle and all his servants because AN EVIL, talking ORGAN (musical instrument) tells him to. That’s it, that’s the movie.

I saw the first two movies, and the original is my favourite animated movie, but the sequel is the worst sequel I've seen.
I am disgusted by the land before time haters. These movies are absolutely amazing. Most of them that is. Movies 7-10 are especially great
TabalugaDragon 'these movies are absolutely amazing' No they aren't. The original 1988 film is 'absolutely amazing' The rest are junk. It's like Highlander in animation form. If you want to like them, fine, but at least be accepting of other people's opinions.
Shrek 4D is acctually a cut version of the Ride in Universal which is why the 3D is cheesy and some of the best 3D jokes were cut like donkey and shrek falling out of the screen. The ride pre-show explains the plot and that's why watching it without the knowledge about the ride causes a bland and awful experience
The spider scene is terrifying as the seats make it feel like they are there. Not the best 4-D ride but the pre-show is pretty good.

I'm genuinely surprised that you didn't mention that Shrek 4D was solely created for the Universal Studios theme park ride of the same name. That's why the movie is filmed at that one low angle for majority of its run-time and that's why the characters never shut up, they are constnalty trying to engage the audience during the attraction. The 4 in 4D comes from the part of the attraction where the seats would vibrate, as well as smells and visual effects like fog, mist, and bubbles being pumped into the theater.
I bet you that it failed to engage the audience & instead ended up as annoying.

Oh boooy.....this one is sooo messed up... This is the sequel of the "Little Fox"(Vuk), a hungarian cartooon from 1980, which is a classic, and everybody loves it! But this garbage should've been in the top 3, for being hideous, poorly written/animated, disrespectful to the original, and corrupted (the production money went "somwhere else..."🙄).

People forget how groundbreaking THE LAND BEFORE TIME was in the late 1980s, at least in terms of its subject matter. There had never been an animated film with dinosaurs as the protagonists before, and this was before all the JURASSIC PARK sequels (not to mention Barney) had made everyone sick of dinosaurs. I remember loving the animation most of all, because it was cutesy yet also somehow grounded in reality. In fact, I'd put that animation on the same level as that of ALADDIN or THE LION KING.

It's worth noting that they didn't keep hiring new Little Foot voice actors because they got fed up and wanted a new one to work for cheaper.
They keep changing because unlike most of the other characters, little kids voice Little Foot, meaning every movie (or two movies in some cases,) they need to recast him because Puberty hit in that timeframe.
True, but also, after I think the 4th or 5th movie, none of the other characters had their original voice actors anymore either. One of them for a very sad reason that should have stopped them from making 13 sequels in the first place...

I loath hoodwinked 2 as I loved the first movie growing up. Probably one of my favorite animated movies as a child and despite the long gap between movies that nostalgia had me exited for the sequel. It's entry on this list is well earned. I think the only moment I actually laughed at was a part where the singing goat from the first movie smashes his guitar and sings opera when he thinks he's abut to die.

Timmy to the Rescue is a big disappointment. It's a shame too because they were some rare good voice actor moments, especially at the end with Eric Idle voicing Martin. Martin seemed so insane that its actually funny in a way. I always fast forward to Evil Martin's parts. That's the only good part of the movie, unfortunately.
Pytheale I remember watching the first one when I was little and LOVING it, and then I found the sequel like 4 years later. I haven't been as dissapointed in a sequel since.

Nah, Land Before Time 2,3 and 5 were great movies. 4 and anything beyond 5 were pretty bad. 5 was probably the best of the sequels.

Secret of NIMH 2 was one of my favorite movies growing up. NOBODY BADMOUTHS THE MOVIE THAT MADE MY CHILDHOOD!!! Plus, putting that in the secret of NIMH trilogy proves Timmy survived pneumonia. The first one ended with him seeming to be recovering, but failed to show him totally better, after most of the movie was built on bringing healing to his body. The sequel may be a sappy musical, but it shows the critically ill child in the first one have a new lease on life
I enjoyed Rugrats go wild, basically because where else are we going to get the Rugrats teaming up with the wild Thornberries? Plus I liked the fact that Spike talked. I liked the wild Thornberries because the main character reminded me of Dr. Dolittle and some of the animals Eliza talked to were adorable!

First of all, that wasn't a Rugrats character, though the two shows were created by the same people, understandable mistake. Second of all, strangely, Nigel seems to be the Homer of this show.

Yeah Cars 2 isn't really good but it isn't horrible by any means. At least when compared to these movies, it could be in a top 20 list, though, that's for sure! Haha
Trust me, when you've seen enough bad movies, you begin to realize that movies like Cars 2 aren't actually all that bad.
I'm willing to bet that Cars 2, like Atlantis The Lost Empire, is one of Disney's more debatable movies.
