Kingdom Hearts 2 by far had some of the most memorable and emotional music I've ever heard. I'll never forget hearing the music in a commercial for it and it selling me on the game alone.
Mass Effect trilogy, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Hotline Miami, Hotline Miami 2, The Binding of Isaac, World of Warcraft, The Lord of the Rings Online, The Witcher 3, Tormentum: Dark Sorrow, Alan Wake, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, FFVII, Neopets: The Darkest Faerie, Brutal Legend, and Scratches are just a few of the games that come to mind when I think of soundtracks that I love.

zaplepikachu I was torn between ORAS and Platinum, but I ultimately chose ORAS. And while I do think Epic Yarn had some stellar tracks, I feel it didn't capture the style of music I love from other Kirby games, like Returns to DreamLand and Triple Deluxe. However, that's just my opinion.

You can't forget about Hiroyuki Sawano's work on Xenoblade Chronicles. Sawano is a God. Speaking of Sawano, while he didn't compose for the new Attack on Titan game, I think the new game's got a sweet soundtrack too.

In my opinion, "Ori and the blind forest" has one of the best soundtracks of all time. I finished it months ago and to this day I still listen to the soundtrack in my car every time I drive and when I go to bed. I even find myself humming it all the time.

I feel bad that Kingdom Hearts isn't a honorable mention. It may not be the best game out there, but it did sure enough surprise me. Creating original soundtracks for SquareEnix and Disney based worlds was awesome to me. But the best Kingdom Hearts score was the opening to Kingdom Hearts 3D, that will forever be ingrained in my memory. The way it was handled and used in each scene was perfect. Taking pieces from each game and flawlessly going from something soft to something loud and it just seemed natural. I never got to play a multitude of those games, and I agree with pretty much all of the choices you and OP have said. I'm just sad that it wasn't listed...

The Castlevania Chronicles version of Dance Of The Holy Man (Simon's Theme) is probably the best of all the Castlevania music. But yea, Vampire Killer and Bloody Tears are amazing.

Yeah, that's the 1 thing that has been consistent in every single FF game, the soundtrack is always amazing! But I'll have to agree with Jirard, my favorite out of them is nr. 6 as well :P
IX did have an amazing sound track but Chrono Trigger's was a little lack luster, Chrono Cross was much better, that game had one of the greatest sound tracks ever put into a video game.
Jirard, I have always loved your videos! I don't understand why you would receive flak or harsh criticism. You have a very clear presentation; your work is always polished and professional. It's also casual and personal--you have a great sense of balance and every video you produce has an overall sense of a completed project. In short, I love what you do! Please keep doing it!!
In particular, I would pick Dual Destinies because of Blackquill's theme, the objection (Phoenix and Apollo) music, the pursuit, and of course, Bobby Fulbright's theme.
Just got started on AA6, btw :D My favourite is definitely the music from Trials and Tribulations, though my favourite track is probably Franziska's theme (The opening is better than edgeworths, imo) I also love the extended Apollo Theme and pretty much all the music in AA: Apollo Justice
***** Generic? How? Fulbright's theme is very funky and fun, Blackquill's is... something. The cornered theme (It's actually called a "Pursuit" theme as I've come to know. I made the same mistake) is very fun and upbeat and hopeful and the objection theme sounds sophisticated for Phoenix who is now older. I mean, sure I don't remember the background investigation music or whatever, but I don't even remember the ones from the older games either. It's not a "generic" orchestra, it's JUST an orchestra.
Man... When I saw Street Fighter, I thought about OC remix. When you talked about Megaman, again, thought about OC Remix. Everyone who's part of OC Remix needs every bit of support and love for the amazing work they've done. I'm so happy you brought them up.
Good picks. I definitely recommend the Skies of Arcadia soundtrack! It's got airy beauty and dramatic tension and some fun bits, and it really characterizes the different areas in the game as you arrive and hear the musical style change to meet the location. I love just playing it in the background during the day.

Hands down, my favorite video game soundtracks are Xenoblade Chronicles are Kid Icarus Uprising (Interestingly enough, I've never actually played either of those games for more than about 20 minutes).

To tell you the truth I actually love your top tens. They are way more creative than anyone else and even better more personal. I feel like you really enjoy making your top tens no matter what kind of list it is but you don't necessarily enjoy completing every game. I prefer watching you when your having fun.
I love Undertale's soundtrack, I play it when I go on walks and do chores. But I also love the soundtracks to the Pokemon games. I even went to Symphonic Evolutions, and I had goosebumps throughout!
I wouldn't say the first 2 are "kinda bad". I thought they were pretty great but yeah...their soundtracks are freaking amazing for sure. Akiko Shikata has been one of my favorite singers ever since I heard her in those games.
ChibiTails Except i said "Lemon + Sweet fruit" not "Lemonade + Sugar". When you mix lemon + some sweet fruit, you feel the sugary of the sweet fruit, but not the fruit's flavor itself.

I always loved the Japanese/EU/AU/NZ sound track of Sonic CD. They made CD tracks for the Present and Future versions of a zone, and a regular PCM for the Past versions!

World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls. All of them, Arena to Online. I couldn't think of a single song from these games that sucks. Well, maybe the one exception being Felwood. That one's annoying.
Also, there's this little Diablo-style game called Titan Quest that I don't think too many are familiar with. That one also has an insanely good soundtrack.
Gonna nominate Skies of Arcadia. The overworld theme changes instrumentation based on the nearby cultures. Each character theme is expressive, and the Epilogue and Credits combo still gets to me.

As someone who grew up immersed in video games, I can hardly bear to dredge about my real life without something playing in my head from a video game. So I force the record player in my head to throw some of those old tracks in. Tracks from Sonic, Disgaea, Harvest Moon, and more spice up my experiences in work as they did in school.
I vastly prefer orchestration over MIDI, but Banjo-Kazooie is still a masterpiece! I've always been partial to the more understated pieces of the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack, like the traveling music. As for my favorite music (that most people haven't heard of), I'd go with Endless Space. The music in that game and Legend is awe-inspiring and fits the series so well.

OCRemix... Those guys are the absolute BEST! I can't think of words that do them justice! However, Jirard, I think it would have been better to save that shout-out for the end of the video. Please don't make a habit of interrupting the flow of the main point, even if it is to give credit where credit is due, it breaks the immersion. There's a time and place for everything. Other than that, solid list! You have great taste.
Assassins Creed 2 is also amazing! This and Final Fantasy 6 are the soundtracks that I always have on my mp3. Beautiful sounds and emotions and I can remember every piece from were it played in the game.

Personally I think out of the Pokemon franchise and Kirby franchise Pokemon Platinum and Kirby's Epic Yarn are the best but those ones are good too.

But the best Kingdom Hearts score was the opening to Kingdom Hearts 3D, that will forever be ingrained in my memory. The way it was handled and used in each scene was perfect. Taking pieces from each game and flawlessly going from something soft to something loud and it just seemed natural.
I never got to play a multitude of those games, and I agree with pretty much all of the choices you and OP have said. I'm just sad that it wasn't listed...

The Castlevania Chronicles version of Dance Of The Holy Man (Simon's Theme) is probably the best of all the Castlevania music.

IX did have an amazing sound track but Chrono Trigger's was a little lack luster, Chrono Cross was much better, that game had one of the greatest sound tracks ever put into a video game.

It's also casual and personal--you have a great sense of balance and every video you produce has an overall sense of a completed project.

In particular, I would pick Dual Destinies because of Blackquill's theme, the objection (Phoenix and Apollo) music, the pursuit, and of course, Bobby Fulbright's theme.

My favourite is definitely the music from Trials and Tribulations, though my favourite track is probably Franziska's theme (The opening is better than edgeworths, imo)
I also love the extended Apollo Theme and pretty much all the music in AA: Apollo Justice

***** Generic? How? Fulbright's theme is very funky and fun, Blackquill's is... something. The cornered theme (It's actually called a "Pursuit" theme as I've come to know. I made the same mistake) is very fun and upbeat and hopeful and the objection theme sounds sophisticated for Phoenix who is now older. I mean, sure I don't remember the background investigation music or whatever, but I don't even remember the ones from the older games either. It's not a "generic" orchestra, it's JUST an orchestra.

Man... When I saw Street Fighter, I thought about OC remix. When you talked about Megaman, again, thought about OC Remix. Everyone who's part of OC Remix needs every bit of support and love for the amazing work they've done. I'm so happy you brought them up.
Good picks. I definitely recommend the Skies of Arcadia soundtrack! It's got airy beauty and dramatic tension and some fun bits, and it really characterizes the different areas in the game as you arrive and hear the musical style change to meet the location. I love just playing it in the background during the day.

Great Soundtracks incoming:
- Final Fantasy 9. Sorry, but "you are not alone" just gets me too much.
- Chrono Cross. That game hooked me with the intro and had me much more with the concert.
- Persona 3 and 4. I like them both. Thanks to the nature of the games, I just heave them in my mind

Hands down, my favorite video game soundtracks are Xenoblade Chronicles are Kid Icarus Uprising (Interestingly enough, I've never actually played either of those games for more than about 20 minutes).

Now that I think about it, Ar Tonelico III in general seems to have the best soundtrack of the series.

I wouldn't say the first 2 are "kinda bad". I thought they were pretty great but yeah...their soundtracks are freaking amazing for sure. Akiko Shikata has been one of my favorite singers ever since I heard her in those games.

I always loved the Japanese/EU/AU/NZ sound track of Sonic CD. They made CD tracks for the Present and Future versions of a zone, and a regular PCM for the Past versions!

World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls. All of them, Arena to Online. I couldn't think of a single song from these games that sucks. Well, maybe the one exception being Felwood. That one's annoying.
Also, there's this little Diablo-style game called Titan Quest that I don't think too many are familiar with. That one also has an insanely good soundtrack.

Gonna nominate Skies of Arcadia. The overworld theme changes instrumentation based on the nearby cultures. Each character theme is expressive, and the Epilogue and Credits combo still gets to me.

As someone who grew up immersed in video games, I can hardly bear to dredge about my real life without something playing in my head from a video game. So I force the record player in my head to throw some of those old tracks in. Tracks from Sonic, Disgaea, Harvest Moon, and more spice up my experiences in work as they did in school.
I vastly prefer orchestration over MIDI, but Banjo-Kazooie is still a masterpiece! Here's my list, in no particular order:

I've always been partial to the more understated pieces of the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack, like the traveling music.
As for my favorite music (that most people haven't heard of), I'd go with Endless Space. The music in that game and Legend is awe-inspiring and fits the series so well.
Damn, it is pretty nostalgic seeing the old DJ Pretzel logo. I used to hang out in the #ocremix IRC channel back in the day. Thanks for putting the OC Remix bit in.
OCRemix... Those guys are the absolute BEST! I can't think of words that do them justice! However, Jirard, I think it would have been better to save that shout-out for the end of the video. Please don't make a habit of interrupting the flow of the main point, even if it is to give credit where credit is due, it breaks the immersion. There's a time and place for everything. Other than that, solid list! You have great taste.
Assassins Creed 2 is also amazing! This and Final Fantasy 6 are the soundtracks that I always have on my mp3. Beautiful sounds and emotions and I can remember every piece from were it played in the game.
