Yeah, he made moonlight sonata when he had some hearing left. He was 31 at the time when he wrote this sonata, and around 45, he was totally deaf. It was 14 or 13 years before he became completely deaf.
Muchas gracias, Kassia.

Hello Kassia, I just wanted to say that a year ago I was so mesmerized by your piano playing and the way you gracefully moved your hands that I soon wanted to study and play the piano . I didn't have an actual piano so I tried to study music theory on my own. After a year of downloading pdfs of music theory books I thought that I was ready. My piano teacher just gave me this piece because I had been persistently bugging him about it. He was teaching me the finger substitutions in the left hand, and to my surprise, I found it somewhat difficult to find anyone on RUclips who does those finger substitutions [out of those who use reactive visualizers like you]. Most I’ve seen just lift their LH and move around the keybed in that manner for this piece. I brought up to him how I have not seen the finger substitutions done on many YT videos, and he mentioned how that’s very unfortunate because you end up hearing a ‘clunk’ between the LH chordal movements. And, now that I’ve heard & seen the finger substitutions being done, the difference in sound really is apparent. This truly sounds much smoother than the recordings of those who do not do the proper finger substitutions. Your hard work & training is apparent & it pays off. Well done, from an aspiring pianist.
