When it comes to a more melodic sound, Iron Maiden all the way.
When it comes to strait up, in your face, fist pumping metal, Metallica.
Both have a unique sound which makes them great, and I love them both
Metallica has an incredibly melodic sound though. They have heavier riffs too.
@@ChipmunkAsylum I would say their riffs are more distorted rather than actually heavier. Both bands go hard but maiden uses nowhere near as much distortion on their guitars. All comes down to whether you prefer the chunkiness of a lot of distortion or a cleaner sound.
I love both bands FYI but am slightly biased towards maiden simply by being British
@@EelofTheTRIMS honestly Maiden songs are not super riff oriented. The only super chunky riff i can think of from them is 2 Minutes to Midnight. For example Fear of the Dark and The Trooper have iconic riffs, but they’re more because of melody and not the driving rhythm like Metallica does (Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, Creeping Death, Four Horsemen, Sad But True, etc.)

The difference is huge! Metallica is a C grade, and Iron Maiden is a Mozart or Vivaldi)
Those are not just a chorus effect from Maiden. That is multiple guitars rocking at the exact same time. Virtuoso is an understatement.

I’d have to go with Metallica, they were one of the first bands my dad introduced me too and I’ve been a fan for many years and have seen them in concert and constantly learn their songs on guitar

Up the Irons! I respect Metallica but for the life of me I never really could get into them properly. Sure they've had memorable songs, riffs and solos but there's something about them that I can't seem to sit through an album.
Haha I'm actually the same way, but reversed. Maiden is absolutely brilliant and I love a few of their songs but I can't really get into them. I find their tone a little too theatrical for my taste, and honestly I don't enjoy Bruce's high pitch vocals despite his skill as a vocalist.

I love me some Metallica. I love me some Maiden. I think the Metallica riffs are relatively simpler but have that metal power behind them that makes them so beloved and iconic. Maiden riffs sound a bit more complex, almost orchestral for many of their songs. A lot of good stuff on both sides!

I have a lot of respect for metallica, a great heavy metal and trash metal style band, but Iron Maiden were and are from another planet. They are much more melodic and technical with instruments. I prefer Maiden to Metallica.

The fact that many Maiden's songs in this contest are from Number of the Beast, which is the first album I ever listened gave me so much good memories I felt I was 16 years old again. ^^
Iron Maiden has more talented guitarists and overall is a much better band. In this they have better riffs too. I like Metallica but Maiden is just better
Maiden at least fizzled out after 5 albums. Metallica only lasted 4 albums. Then it was over for them
