I live on Portland and also meet the cruise passengers in Weymouth. Thank you for giving some information on Portland as most miss what is available to see and for information, there is normally some taxi drivers at the drop off point in Weymouth that will do trips to Stonehenge etc (please check the price before you go) if all the ships trips are booked up.
I love the voice over and the commentary with all the valuable information- I have really enjoyed watching this series and hope to take this cruise myself someday 💕
Portland was home to a Royal Navy Air Station and home of Flag Officer Sea Training, where all Royal.Navy ships went for intensive training, which lasted 5 weeks, sea weeks and harbour weeks. Also, the infamous Thursday War, when Portlandia was attacked. Went there many times during my 22 years service, bought home in Weymouth just before the causeway. My daughter lives in the Dorchester area
We did not invade France on the 6th of June 1944 .Britain America Canada France 🇫🇷 kicked out the Nazis who had invaded an Aincient and Beautiful Country and People's.
I guess every history book I have ever read got it wrong, including the Eisenhower library. www.eisenhowerlibrary.gov/research/online-documents/world-war-ii-d-day-invasion-normandy#:~:text=The%20D%2DDay%20operation%20of,the%20beaches%20of%20Normandy%2C%20France.
Great video, keep it up, love seeing the excursions more than the cruise meals !
Thanks for watching. Food is so subjective so we generally just do over the basics. Excursions are such difficult choices.

Thanks for watching and the feedback. I absolutely loved your area. Next time we will be skipping Stonehenge and staying in Portland / Weymouth.
Salisbury is a cathedral city, not a village. Glad you enjoyed it and the Magna Carta I agree is a historical highlight.
Thanks for pointing that out. It was absolutely lovely and seeing the Magna Carta was a highlight of an amazing trip!
We're doing this cruise July 2025. Thanks for all the valuable information.
